Every Alpha knows that their first born will be male to be the next Alpha when the time comes. That is not the case for my family, twins first born was me Lily and second born was my brother Lucas. It's like first come first served in the werewolf community, and my father was furious and absolutely against the the idea of a female Alpha.
We know our wolves from the age of 6, to bond with them to be able to control one another. So I have known that my wolf was different, stronger and more powerful than most wolves. My brothers was average while still strong but not a natural born leader.
Most wolves don't shift until they are 16, and most wolves unless of higher stature don't have abilities that come with their wolf.
When I got my wolf I also got abilities, powers if you will, I can read minds heal with just a touch and have the powers of fire and ice. Thankfully my wolf Xena she has helped me control them, and no one in my family is aware I posses such power. It will also remain that way until I either take the role as Alpha, or they find out against my will. Oh and I can also hide my scent, which I do on a daily otherwise everyone would know I was different. Most wolves have that ability so it gets over looked. Also because I am treated like dirt by my family they don't care if I hide it or not.
