IN A FEW DAYS
WANESSA'S POINT OF VIEW:
It had been several days since I had arrived at the castle, and though I was surrounded by luxury, I couldn't shake the constant feeling of discomfort. Every time I turned a corner, one of the princes seemed to be there, quietly watching me, always close. But today I felt something different in the air. I overheard some servants talking about the arrival of the elder, the one who was supposed to clarify the prophecy, he would confirm that I wasn't meant to be the mate of all three princes. When I entered in the living room, the atmosphere was different, tense, like everyone was waiting for something monumental to happen. I saw the princes standing off to the side, all of them looking at something or rather, someone in the center of the room.
I blinked when I saw him. The elder. He was not what I expected at all. He wasn't the old, wise figure I had imagined. In the game he was younger, middle aged at best, with sharp features and a quiet confidence that matched none of my expectations. I looked at him more carefully, trying to understand what was happening.
The elder's presence was almost overwhelming as he stood before us, his gaze shifting from one prince to the other, before finally resting on me.
"You all want answers." He began, his voice steady but carrying an unsettling weight."And I am here to provide them. The prophecy has been misinterpreted for far too long, and there is much that you do not understand."
Every word he spoke felt like it had the power to unravel everything I thought I knew about my life, my purpose, and the way this world worked
"The prophecy speaks of an omega, one who will unite three princes and alter the course of kingdom. She will bring a new dawn, she will be loved by everyone. Her arrival will shift the balance of power, and only through her will the future be shaped. She can either be savior or the destroyer." The elder said.
AT THE SAME TIME
XAVIER'S POINT OF VIEW:
I sat there, the elder's words still echoing in my mind. An omega, destined to unite three princes and change the course of the kingdom. Could it really be her? Could Wanessa who I barely knew be the one? My gut twisted at the thought, but at the same time, I couldn't shake the strange pull toward her. My brothers looked just as confused. Michael, his jaw clenched, stared at the floor, as though trying to piece together the prophecy. Terence, though, looked almost detached, like his mind was elsewhere. Maybe they were feeling the same conflict. Maybe they were just as uncertain as I was.
"I don't understand..." Michael finally broke the silence, his voice low and thoughtful. "The prophecy... it's about her, isn't it? Wanessa?"
"It doesn't make sense. How can it be her? We barely know her. What if she's just... someone else? A random omega?"I said.
Terrence sighed, rubbing his temples as though trying to shake off a headache.
"It's too early to know for sure. But the fact remains we can smell her. She's tied to the prophecy somehow. Maybe we need to think about this more carefully."Terrence said.
I couldn't stand still anymore. Something about this whole situation felt... off.
"Do you really think we're the only ones she's tied to?" I said, my voice sharper than I intended. "I mean, there's no way we're the only ones. There could be more. She could be the mate of someone else entirely."I said.
"We've got to focus." Michael said, meeting my eyes. "If the prophecy is true, she's the key. And if she is ours, we need to be sure. We need to protect her."
"Protect her?" Terrence scoffed. "We've barely talked to her. We don't even know what she's thinking. How do we protect someone when we don't even understand their situation?"
Before I could say anything else, a sudden, jarring thought hit me. I stopped, my heart skipping a beat.
"Wait..."My voice faltered as I turned to Michael and Terrence. "Where is she?"
"What the hell?" I muttered, glancing around the room.
"She's not here." Michael said, his eyes narrowing. "Damn it. We've been talking about the prophecy, and now she's gone."
The urgency in his voice snapped me to attention. We all stood at the same time, eyes darting around the room.
"How long has she been gone?" I asked.
The realization sank in, we had been too caught up in the elder's words to notice she slipped away.
"She must have left when we weren't paying attention." Terrence said.
Before any of us could react further, the elder's voice echoed in the silence.
"She's not gone, my princes."Elder said.
We turned to face him, all of us taken aback. He was standing there with a serene look on his face, as if he knew something we didn't.
"I can sense it." The elder continued. "The connection you share with her, it's undeniable. Even if she is not the one the prophecy speaks of, one of you is still bound to her. You smell of her, and she smells of you."
I froze, the weight of his words sinking in.
"What do you mean by that?" I demanded. "You think she's ours?"I asked.
"Perhaps she is not the one prophesied to bring change. But what matters is this your connection to her is real. If she is not the one, then still, one of you will be her mate. You all share that bond."Elder said.
A storm of emotions erupted inside me. I couldn't think straight. A mate? Wanessa was... our mate? Even if she wasn't the one in the prophecy? Without a word, my brothers and I exchanged a glance. The connection was real. I could smell her on me, on Michael, on Terrence. But what did it mean?
"Where did she go?" Terrence asked sharply, stepping toward the door. "We need to find her now."
Michael was already moving, his expression determined.
"Let's go. Now."He said.
I didn't need to be told twice. I had to know what she was feeling, why she had run. I raced out of the room, with both of my brothers, the castle was quiet, but I knew she was out there somewhere, alone, trying to figure this all out on her own.
"She can't be far." I muttered under my breath. "We'll find her."
I just hoped that we weren't too late.
