Chapter 13 - 13. Golden Elixir at the castle

AT THE SAME TIME

XAVIER'S POINT OF VIEW:

The air felt thick with anticipation as I continued to carry Wanessa.. Each step felt like it could be our last if we didn't figure out how to help her. I glanced at Michael and Terrence, both of them tense, their eyes constantly shifting between me and Wanessa. We were all terrified. Her chest rose and fell quicker, her breathing shallow and rapid. Her wolf, Wanny, was coming forward. And then, her amber eyes snapped open.

"Xavier." Her voice rang out, calm yet filled with an undertone of urgency.

I could feel her, the wolf, pressing through Wanessa's consciousness, as she had important things to tell us.

"Wanny…" I whispered, my grip tightening around her as I held her steady.

She blinked, the golden hue of her eyes flickering in and out, as if the wolf inside her was trying to steady herself.

"She believes she is from another world." Wanny said, her tone heavy with the knowledge of what was going through Wanessa's mind. "She doesn't understand her place. She doesn't believe she belongs here."

"What do you mean? She's right here with us. She's our Luna."I said.

Wanny's gaze, still amber, focused on me.

"She thinks she is not from this world." Wanny continued, almost like she was speaking through Wanessa's confused emotions. "That she belongs to another realm. That there is another Luna, someone like her, but not her."

My jaw tightened as I looked down at Wanessa.

"Another Luna?" Terrence muttered.

The idea made no sense. How could there be someone else like her? How could anyone else possibly take her place?

"Xavier." Michael's voice cut through my thoughts, filled with worry." This isn't just confusion. It's deeper than that. She thinks there's someone else who's meant to be our Luna."

"Is it true? Is there another woman out there like her?" Terrence asked.

Wanny paused, her amber eyes flickering with hesitation. Then she spoke again, her tone gravely serious.

"Yes. But she is not the one. That woman, she is nothing more than a vision, a reflection of what could have been. "Wanny said. The truth is that Wanessa, your true Luna is here. She belongs with you. But she does not remember. She believes in the other one because her mind has been clouded by false memories."Wanny explained.

"But why does she think that?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why would she believe in this false vision?"

"Her pack... They kept her in the dark. They sealed her memories to protect her from the truth, from the power she is meant to wield. They were afraid of what she could become if she knew who she truly was."Wanny explained.

I felt my heart sink at those words.

Her pack had kept her in the dark? The very people who should have protected her were the ones who had lied to her, sealed her fate and hidden the truth from her. My hands clenched tighter around Wanessa's fragile form.

"They feared her." Wanny's voice continued, heavy with sorrow. "They feared that, once she knew who she truly was, once she embraced her full potential, she would surpass them all. She would be too powerful. Too dangerous."

Michael's face darkened with understanding.

"So they kept her isolated. They didn't let her remember who she was, because they were afraid of what she might become."Michael said.

"Yes." Wanny responded. "But this... this false belief in another woman is the final piece of the trap they've set for her."

My grip on Wanessa tightened. The words hit me like a blow to the chest.

"How do we help her see the truth?" I asked, voice low and trembling with emotion.

Wanny's amber eyes flickered again, and she turned back to face me.

"You must make her see the truth for herself. Let her know that she was never meant to follow that other woman. The true Luna was always meant to walk beside you. You and your brothers are her mates and you must remind her that she is not lost, not broken. You must show her who she is, remind her of her power, of her strength."She said.

At that moment I watched how she fell asleep again. For some reason Wanessa couldn't believe she was meant for someone else. She thought she is not the right one, but I wasn't planning to give up on her so soon.

King William and Queen Clara were already in the corridor, waiting for us. Their faces were tight with worry, their gazes fixed on Wanessa as we rushed her through the halls. Wanessa's body was limp in my arms, her breaths shallow and strained from exhaustion.

The elder was already waiting in the main chamber. He didn't need to say much, just motioned for us to place Wanessa on the bed. The elder turned to the nearby table, where vials of various potions and elixirs were lined up. He moved quickly, preparing the medicine without hesitation. King William and Queen Clara had come closer now, their concern growing with every second that passed.

"What happened?" The king asked, his voice low but filled with worry. "Is she going to be alright?"

I could feel the tension in the room as the elder mixed the potion, his wrinkled hands shaking ever so slightly. "This wasn't a simple illness, this was something deeper, something we weren't prepared for. She's not just suffering from her physical state." He said softly. "There is something deeper happening inside of her a struggle between the wolf and her mind. This is not an ordinary situation. This is... the awakening."

"The awakening?" Luna Clara asked, her voice trembling with fear.

The elder nodded, his gaze lingering on Wanessa as if measuring her every breath.

"Yes. The wolf inside her, the spirit of the Luna is fighting to emerge fully, but there is resistance. She doesn't understand what's happening. She's trapped between two realities, the life she thought she knew, and the life she was meant to lead."He said.

The elder turned back to the table, grabbing a vial filled with a thick, golden liquid.

"We need to calm her body and mind. This medicine will help. It will put her into a deeper sleep, so she can rest and let her body heal."Elder said.

King William looked at Wanessa, his face etched with concern.

"Will this help her?" He asked, the fatherly instinct evident in his voice. "Will it stop whatever is happening inside her?"

The elder sighed deeply, his face lined with the weight of years of experience.

"It will help for now. But it is only a temporary fix. She will need time to come to terms with the truth about who she really is. The medicine will give her the rest she needs so that her body can begin to recover. But we can't keep her asleep forever."He said.

"You're right. We have to help her understand what's happening."I said.

The elder approached Wanessa and gently lifted her head, tilting it slightly as he brought the spoon to her lips. He paused for a moment, as if waiting for something, but when her body didn't react, he gently coaxed her mouth open and placed the spoon inside.

Her lips were dry, and her breathing shallow, but she swallowed instinctively. The golden liquid seemed to calm her almost immediately, her muscles loosening and her heartbeat slowing.

"She's so young." Queen Clara whispered, her eyes clouded with emotion. "She's carrying the weight of all this... so much confusion. She doesn't understand what's happening to her."

I couldn't take my eyes off of Wanessa, watching the peaceful expression slowly return to her face as the medicine took effect.

"We have to protect her." I said softly, more to myself than anyone else.

"You must help her. The true Luna is always marked by something beyond just the bond of mates. She carries a power inside her, one that can't be ignored. But if she remains trapped in this confusion, if she continues to doubt herself, she will never be able to embrace that power."He said.

Queen Clara placed a gentle hand on my shoulder, her grip firm, but her expression filled with concern.

"She's ours. We have to help her believe that. We can't let her slip away from us."She said.

I nodded, the words settling in my chest like a heavy weight.

"We will. We'll help her."I said.

As I watched her sleep I understood how much quickly we had to make sure that her recovery was going well. If we fail we might loose our mate and true Luna forever.
