Chapter 2: A Flame Ignited

The morning light filtered through the curtains of the Dai household, casting a warm glow over the kitchen. Harue sat at the table, thinking deeply. Last evening had been a whirlwind. One moment, he was staring at his hand, then the next it was engulfed in flames. He still couldn't wrap his head around it. His parents, Reina and Akio, stood nearby, quietly discussing the events of the evening.

"Are you ready, Harue?" Reina asked, brushing her long orange hair over her shoulder. Her voice was calm, but Harue could sense the excitement behind it.

He nodded, though his stomach churned with a mix of nerves and anticipation. "Yeah. I guess."

Akio, leaning against the counter with his usual relaxed smile, gave him a reassuring thumbs-up. "Don't sweat it, kiddo. Quirk doctors have seen it all. They'll figure out what you're working with in no time."

The car ride to the quirk doctor was a quiet one at first. Harue sat in the back seat, staring out the window as the city buzzed around him. His mind raced with questions.

Last night he couldn't stay asleep, he was awake testing his quirk, and what he found was weird, his quirk was not just a simple fire generation quirk.

'Last night my hand it was not just on fire, it was like it had become something else something not made of flash and blood'

He thought excitedly.

'Was I given an ability similar to a logia devil fruit, is my quirk the same as Ace's fruit'

Reina glanced at him through the rearview mirror, her warm brown eyes full of understanding seeing him lost in thought. "Harue, it's okay to feel a little nervous," she said. "But no matter what, we'll figure it out together. Quirks are a part of who we are, and this is just a test"

"Your mom's right," Akio added from the passenger seat. "And hey, you've got fire! That's pretty flashy. Makes my glow quirk look like a flashlight in comparison."

That got a small laugh out of Harue, easing some of the tension in the air.

When they arrived at the clinic, Harue was ushered into a bright, sterile examination room. The quirk specialist, a middle-aged woman with a clipboard and a kind smile, introduced herself as Dr. Asuka.

Which brought relief to Harue that it was not the evil doctor garaki, but it was to be expected because they didn't live in Musutafu.

"So, Harue," she began, sitting across from him, "I hear you had an exciting evening. Can you tell me what happened?"

Harue hesitated, then held up his right hand. "It… caught on fire," he said simply. "But it didn't hurt or anything."

Dr. Asuka nodded thoughtfully. "That's a good sign. Let's do some tests to see how your quirk works, all right?"

Over the next half hour, Harue followed her instructions, igniting his hand and showing that he can do so with other limbs, even trying to control the size of the flame with moderate success. Dr. Asuka took notes, running a few scans with a handheld device. Finally, she leaned back in her chair with a satisfied expression.

"Well, Harue, your quirk seems to be fire-based, as you guessed and the flames burn at a relatively high temperature. Based on what I've seen, I'd classify your quirk as emission type,It's a strong quirk, but you'll need to train to control it properly."

"Well now Harue last but not least, what do you want to name your quirk" She asked with a smile.

I thought for a bit than said,

"Inferno torch".

"Inferno torch huh, well that's quite a name" Laughing softly,Dr. Asuka continued, "We'll register it today, and you'll get your quirk certification. Remember, controlling your quirk is just as important as having one. But I think you have a bright future ahead of you."

As they drove home, the mood in the car was much lighter. Akio couldn't stop grinning. "Inferno torch, huh? That's got a nice ring to it. I bet you'll be the talk of the school."

Harue's cheeks flushed, but he couldn't hide his smile. "You really think so?"

"Of course," Reina said. "But remember, having a strong quirk doesn't make you a hero. It's what you do with it that matters."

Her words stuck with Harue. He looked down at his hands, imagining what they might be capable of one day. "I want to be a hero," he said quietly, then looked up, his voice more confident. "Like All Might. I want to save people and make them smile, just like he does."

'And like hell I'm leaving the world in the hands of Deku' he thought to himself.

Akio chuckled, his glow flickering faintly in amusement. "Big dreams, huh? Well, you've got the fire for it, that's for sure."

Reina glanced back at her son with a proud smile. "If that's what you want, Harue, then we'll support you every step of the way. But you'll need to work hard. Being a hero isn't easy."

"I know," Harue said, clenching his fists. "But I'll do it. I'll become a hero."

As the car pulled into the driveway, Harue felt a sense of determination settle in his chest. Last night had changed everything. His quirk was the first step toward this new life and dream, and he wasn't going to let it slip through his fingers.

The flames in his hand were more than just fire—they were his future. And he was ready to ignite it.

End.
