Heros and villains, a society built with two distinct sides of the same coin. What really differentiates someone from a hero or a villain? Who decides what you do is wrong and what you do is the right thing.
As I read through the final epilogue of one of my favourite story, My hero academia, I was overwhelmed, beyond happy that Izuku got his happy ending. Imagine giving your whole life to something and you loose it all at the end. I do wish that he got his quirk back but the ending does allign with the story of how he started as quirkless and ended as a quirkless hero. He would still stand up to save someone even with no powers. That's the best kind of hero that I love. Mirio deserves his first spot too. I feel relieved. Still, I wish things could have ended in a much better way.
As my thoughts were drifiting, my eyes went towards a specific direction. Naruto vs. Pain, the fight where we got to see Naruto using sage mode. I wish I had that kind of power, then I could live freely in the MHA world.
Just then, a bright light flashed through my phone blinding me out of my senses. The next thing I knew, I saw two hands lifting me up.
Wait, am I a baby? Did I die somehow? All these things sounds ridiculous. At least, I have hopes that I am not in some dangerous world like Attack on Titan where I would be the first one to be crushed by Birthcontrol's Colossal Titan. Looking around I see that this place is not in medieval time. In fact, it looks a lot like our modern world.
"He looks just like you," a man with white hair called out in a very soft voice.
So these must be my parents, the blonde-haired woman must be my mother, and the one who just spoke should be my father. Now that I see them clearly, they look oddly familiar. They look like Jiraya and Tsunade from Naruto.
Ugh, did I just get reincarnated in an AU world of Naruto where Tsunade let Jiraya hit?
Let's calm down here; watching those two in a happy place doesn't make it all bad.
Timeskip ~ 4 years
I lived a pretty relaxing life as a baby in these 4 years, and it seems I was gravely mistaken. This is not the Naruto world, but rather the world where heros and villains reside. Yeah, with a blond dude shouting "I am here" all over the news channels, it was quite easy to realize that this was the world of My Hero Academia.
And somehow, my parents look strikingly similar to Tsunade and Jiraya, I guess this is them in a parallel world. Well, both of them turned out to be great parents. Dad would always crack jokes here and there. While my mom showed a great deal of affection, always sticking close to me. She is overly affectionate if I had to say.
I was studying to be a nurse in my previous life. So like my mom I know a thing or two about medicine. Maybe since we have the same passion I felt oddly at ease with her.
I wouldn't say we are super duper rich who could buy anything, but we were fairly well off. My mom is one of the most sort out healers in the world, so it isn't surprising if we weren't.
As I was getting ready, I did a final glance at the mirror. Appearance wise, I have my mom's hair. Coincidentally, I look a lot like Naruto and Minato. I have Naruto's charm and innocence with Minato's good looks. Seriously an amazing combination. Not too bad.
"Hurry up, kuro, we will be late for the quirk assessment".
"Coming, Mom". Yes, it's today, the day I get my quirk assessed. I am quite anxious about what quirk I will end up with. It would be a bummer if I don't have superpowers in a world filled with supernaturals.
My mom's a medic, a famous one at that. Her quirk allows her to heal people without the need for any surgical tools. She is said to have "hands of god". Meanwhile, my old man is a teacher. His quirk seems to greatly enhance his overall strength for a limited amount of time. Previously, he used to be a hero but he stopped his hero work and started his teaching career. With the dangers of being a hero, I wouldn't be surprised at him making that decision.
As we reached the place, I was praying for our assessment doctor to not be Dr. Garaki. That old man is a big no-no if I don't want my quirk to be stolen.
It seems I was worrying for nothing, the doctor who we were supposed to meet turns out to be an old friend of my mom.
"Your son seems to have developed an energy-like quirk where he can absorb the natural energies surrounding us. It's a very strange quirk; we don't have much information on it".
As soon as I heard "natural energies," it clicked for me. Nature energy absorption, there is only one thing that comes to mind when I hear that: Sage Mode. The power I wished I had right before I died. Does this mean my birth is not a coincidence?
I shouldn't let these things bother me. As long as they don't bother me, I will make sure to fully live this lifetime with the new powers I have.
"So what name would you give your new quirk?" My mom called me out from my thoughts.
Well there is only one answer to that, anyone in my place would pick that name: SENJUTSU.
That's what I want to name it—a quirk which can harness the power of nature itself.
After the assessment, we went out for dinner to celebrate. My parents were pretty proud of me for having a strong quirk. I am thankful to get a loving family in this life.
After reaching home, I have been trying to get familiar with my quirk.
Now the main question arises: do I have chakra? Well, senjutsu and chakra are connected to eachother but different in a sense. Chakra is the energy inside an individual, while senjustu is the collection of energy from the nature. The power system of this world is quirk not chakra. It's not possible for me to use jutsus like spewing out fire from my mouth. Even if I could, I don't remember the handsigns to it. It's practically not possible for me to use jutsus like those. The only jutsu that might be close to achieving would be the rasengan. I know the fundamentals to form a rasengan and the proper training method too. That should be the only jutsu that I might be able to use. Even so it's not too bad; I have sage mode which in all is a broken ability.
Sage mode basically allows my body to be more durable, have faster reaction time and super human strength. In a nutshell, the overall stat of my body increases when I am in this so-called "sage mode".
After meditating for a while, I can feel a foreign energy coursing through my body. I should be careful not to absorb a lot of it. And there goes that feeling. Well, I shouldn't expect myself to make huge progress in a single day. It even took a genius like Minato a very long time to master it.
I am far from a genius, average would be a better calling for me. But, in this life, I don't wanna be average. I want to shine brighter than anything.
I want to enjoy this life to the fullest.
