Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

Williams couldn't get the woman out of his head. The one he had met at the bank. There was something about her he couldn't explain.

The way she had spoken to him at the Bank, and her confidence as well. It wasn't every day one gets to see a woman daunting enough to lead a robbery.

"But what exactly could have gone wrong? I had carefully planned this out to make sure we have no casualties or interference, so how exactly did she get to know we would be robbing the bank yesterday?" his brows were creased hard as these thoughts ran through his mind.

"Could it be that someone from my team sold us out?" The mere thought of it left him more infuriated than he had ever been. Frustrated, he sprung to his feet and walked to the window, his veins standing taut on his head.

With his hands clasped to his side, he let out a deep sigh. "Whoever did this to me has to pay. You're not going scot free…"

He stood still, looking out through the window. "Not once in my entire life have I been ridiculed by a woman, and to think I was beaten at a game I claimed to be a pro at. Damn it…"

He remembered the woman and the way she spoke to him with so much confidence. It left him thrilled and amused, but overall, he was mad.. Infuriated. A billion dollars was no child's play.

Williams was still by the window when his phone rang from the bed where he left it. "Who could that be?" he wondered aloud with his brows creased hard.

"Hey! What's up?" He muttered as soon as he picked the call. It was a friend of his and had only just returned to the country.

"I'm great. How do you do? How's the weather treating you?" He managed to sound cool and inviting even though the only thing he wanted to do was get off the call.

He had more important things to think about at that very moment.

"Well well, I'm getting used to it. It's been a long time since I last saw you. I think two years or so, am I right?"

Williams grunted a response without any enthusiasm from him.

"Hey man! What's up? Why do you sound so dull and low? Your woman broke your heart?"

He laughed, a soft laugh that only managed to pass as one. "Nah! I've got no woman to do that to me, so that's not a problem.."

"Wait, you're still as single as I left you?" the young man teased, his baritone voice making it sound funnier.

"Oh please! It's still too early to taunt me with that.."

"Who would have thought that the almighty williams Albert would still be a single man at this age of his.."

"Fine… tease me as long as you want, you old fool. Have you forgotten that only fire can handle a fire like me?" they laughed over it, and this time, the laughter was more genuine.

"You still sound troubled and not in any way like your usual self. Whatever is bothering you must be a really tough one.."

Williams nodded his head in response as he sprawled out on the bed before him. He let out a deep sigh, ogling at the ceiling before him..

"Man! Had a billion dollar heist planned out only for it to get all messed up. To think the person who countered my plans was a woman…" The pain in his voice was visible and he just couldn't conceal it.

"Wow! That's crazy. How did it get leaked out? What do you plan on doing now?"

"I still don't understand how she got to know we would be operating the bank on that day. I have a strong hunch someone from my team must have spilled it to her."

"Whoever it is that did that deserves to have his head on a platter. Why don't you come out with me? That should help you clear your head a bit."

"Hmmm…"

"How about we play some golf? I can invite some others if you wish.."

Williams was going to say No, but he remembered he had nothing else to do at the moment. He also needed to clear his head after the defeat they suffered the previous day.

A few hours out wasn't going to hurt him. He shut his eyes tight and opened it again.

"And where am I to meet you?" His voice was thick and could send chills down anyone's spine.

"The golf course.."

Williams picked a few things and made his way to the golf course. Minutes later, his chauffeur parked at the entrance of the golf course. It was silent and there were only a few people moving around.

Williams alighted from the car, his kit clamped to his side. He trudged on, a thick frown clouding his face. "Hey man.." his friend muttered as he locked him in a tight embrace.

"It's good to see you again. Hey, you haven't changed one bit. You look exactly the same, Williams.."

"Lol.. like you also changed… You're exactly like the last time we saw, short and thick.."

"Ouch.. That's harsh.." The both of them laughed over it and continued with their games.

"You really look affected. Come on, tell me more about the heist.."

Williams parted his lips and began to speak. "The Operation was going on smoothly and we already had the money in our hands when this strange woman and her guys suddenly showed up…"

"Who's this woman? Can you recall her face?"

"She had a mask on her face, so I couldn't even see her face, but she had such nice skin. I'm not going to lie, I was really attracted to her.."

William's friend was flabbergasted. "Are you kidding me? You were attracted to your enemy? That's absurd.."

"I know it is, but I had no say over it."

"Oh my.. you're going to be fine. I guess you're searching for this strange woman right, or are you going to let her off the hook?"

"Of course not!! Not in her wildest dreams.." He chuckled, his hands in his pocket.

An hour later, they were done playing and were ready to leave. The young man couldn't help but notice the gloominess that was on Williams's face. The game had done nothing in cheering him up.

"Hey Williams. Do you have something else planned out to do after now?"

Williams frowned a bit. "Nah! Nothing at the moment. Why do you ask?"

"I was hoping we could go clubbing? Who knows what we'll find there.. one or two pretty chicks.." He had a devilish grin on his face and somehow, Williams couldn't bring himself to say no.

He bursted into laughter, shaking his head vehemently. "Fine then! You're such a bad boy.." He hit him softly as they headed to their cars.

Quarter an hour later, they were seated in one of the biggest clubs in the city with everything one could ever need in a club.

The ladies in there were well packaged with curves and boobs that William's friend couldn't get his eyes off.

A few people recognized Williams and tried walking up to him, but a glance at him sent them scurrying off.

Williams had barely taken his seat when his gaze fell on a lady with a black dress that fitted perfectly against her body.

She had a backless but long sleeve dress on, and her feet sat pretty in the heels she had on as well.

Williams couldn't get his eyes off her no matter how hard he tried to. He felt butterflies in his belly and he was certain he had felt exactly that way before, but couldn't recall when.

"So when do you plan on carrying out the next heist? I can help you with the planning. You know I'm always good with stuff like that.." Marcus's friend said to him but realized his attention was divided.

He tapped him on the shoulder and managed to jolt him back to him. "Hey!! Did I just see you staring at a woman now?" He was stunned.

"Yes! Is there a problem with that?" Marcus grinned with a malicious grin on his face.

"I haven't seen you stare at a woman the way you did now.." he poked Williams in the belly as laughter rang from his lips.

Suddenly, he sprung to his feet and walked up to the lady he had been ogling at.

"Hey Damsel," he muttered as he stood before her.

She ogled at him for a few seconds and looked irritated. "Hello," she said, a weak smile laced to her brows.

"I must admit, you're so pretty and gorgeous as well. Damn!!" Williams stared at her again and nodded his head.

"I'm aware of that. Thanks for the compliment though…"

"What's a pretty lady like yourself doing here? It's not often one gets to see your kind here.."

She laughed curtseying , placing her hand on her lips. "You flatter me so much. I must admit, you're really good at this.

"I'm not flattering you. I'm only telling the truth. By the way, will you mind a drink or two while we get to chat and all, you know..'

She sneered, her hands clasped together. "What makes you think I want to chat with you?"

Williams smiled, "Are you really going to refuse chatting with a man as handsome as I am?"

"Handsome? Oh please, spare me all that.." she rolled her eyes, as a soft giggle traced from her lips. "Fine then, just a bottle though.."

"Yes.." Williams grinned to himself and gently led her to a quiet but open area of the club. The loud music from the club makes it difficult for anyone to communicate.

He signalled to a bartender who walked up to them at once. "Good evening sir. How may I help you?" The excitement in his eyes at seeing Williams was high, though he tried keeping it within himself.

"Two bottles of wine please.."

"Alright sir. I'll get it right away.." he sauntered off, leaving the duo to themselves.

Williams cleared his throat as he carefully adjusted himself. "Do you visit here often? I'm sure you must be having a whole lot of men throwing themselves at you if you frequent here.." His eyes were fixed on her with his lips pressed together.

"Not really. I only came here to celebrate one of my numerous wins. How about you?"

"Me? I was dragged here by a friend of mine.. He's somewhere in the crowd right now.."

"Oh.. that's cool. He must be a really nice guy to bring someone like you out here.."

"Someone like me? You sound like you know a lot about me.."

She chuckled, her gaze fixed on him. "Who doesn't know Williams Albert?" She chuckled as she ran her hands against each other.

"Wow! I never expected that someone as pretty as you are would know or even recognize me.."

"Oh please…" laughter rang from her lips as she ogled at him.

"So since you know my name, can I know yours as well. It'll be a crime not to know the name of someone as pretty as you are..

A smirk etched on her face as she pulled closer to him. "You want to know my name? Then you have to find it.."
