Chapter 12 - 12 - New Equipment

With my latest reset i gained seven new pieces of equipment and now that I had a room of my own, I closed the door before stripping off the armor, and using appraisal to check out my newest pieces.

[Balmung]

2x Attack Power | HP Drain | Incantation Disruption | Ignore Level Gap 10 | Penetrate Defense

[Svalinn]

 Defence 5 | Penetrate Resistance

[Sunwukong Headband]

 Defence 5 | Penetrate Resistance

[Shadow Carapace]

 Defence 5 | Penetrate Resistance

[Infernal Claws]

Defence 5 | Attack Power Up

[Sandslippers]

 Defence 5 | Agility Up

[Ring Of Determination]

Personal Strengthening | Increase In Offensive Power

The equipment was... well to be honest it was amazing, I mean more than half the pieces bore names of mythological equipment from Earth even if their power here didn't align to their power in the legends, since I had time to kill I decided to do a reset sending the equipment back and seeing just what I could get if I was to not spread my points out, and when I saw what I could get at the seventh rank, I honestly was shocked beyond mere words.

Specifically by the seventh rank accessory...

...

[Holy Grail]

Yeah that's right that holy grail.

Appraisal confirmed it and everything but I kept my distance from it, the appraisal result showed that beyond the buffs you'd collect throughout the rank up's it also had the ultimate power of [Perfect Healing] and a further investigation of that section showed the grail was capable of endlessly producing an elixer that could through the though of the wielder produce different elixers capable of bringing those on the verge of death back from the brink, regrowing lost limbs, and even granting one eternal youth.

I was still ten, i'd be waiting at least another ten years before I even considered drinking that particular tonic.

But the healing potions were interesting, but sadly they only worked if drunk from the cup it seems, since trying to pour the liquid contained within into any other vessel would cause the drip or stream to disappear in midair before ever entering the new vessel.

Well it was fun to play with and know I had a true trump card up my sleeve for when the time came, same for all the other equipment honestly.

I mean they were all Divine Rank artifacts of the gods.

If only they wouldn't cost me one hundred twenty seven special points a piece i'd be selecting to arm myself with the whole lot of them and becoming a true titan among men!

But I quickly calmed myself since I as I was now could at best have maybe one of these equipments but it would cost me the loss of my growth cheats in exchange.

on and on I dug through my system enjoying the first real solitude since coming to the world, before sliding into the rustic bed and going to sleep.

~ ~ ~

Bang Bang Bang

Only for that sleep to be broken as the sunlight streamed in through the port window, and the intense sound of someone banging on the door with their fist.

Creeeeaaaak.

Opening the door I was faced with a man who honestly looked like he was made of stone, I mean dude was chiselled.

"You Carter?"

"Uh huh..."

"Good you've got a fight today, get over to the red gate in thirty minutes."

"Uh sure thing... Pit Master?"

"You got that right maggot! Now get moving!"

He went off down the hall once more banging on a couple doors, informing other fighters of their own upcoming matches.

As for me I just closed the door and the cast [Reset]

It was safest to store the equipment in the system when I was sleeping that way there was nothing to steal.

I had done testing on the trip here and if anything got more than five meters from me I couldn't do a reset and remove the item, at first I thought I had stumbled upon a glorious duplication bug but sadly no... the gods new what was what.

With my fully armored figure ready, I emerged from the room, this time heading deeping down the hall rather than heading back the path i'd been before since they only led upstairs and I needed the gate leading me to the fight arena not the gate to the arena stands.

occasionally I passed by other fighters some who were still doing morning cleanup others who like me were ready and headed for the gates.

Fighters just like in MMA were split into Red and Blue, not to say you always had the same color but it was a quick and easy way to determine which side you were on, and as I found out easier for the fans to bet on you rather than needing to know your name.

When I got to the red gate there were two others already there sitting on a bench, one sharpening his sword, while the other just had his head bowed in prayer.

The man who'd been walking beside me for the first time opened his mouth to speak.

"You the new recruit?"

"Yeah just joined last night."

"Good luck out there, though doesn't look like you'll need it till you get promoted."

"Ha ha ha ha, makes you feel sorry for the other scrubs doesn't it?"

"Just make sure you give then enough room to surrender alright?"

"Can't do that."

"Why the hell not, don't you have any humanity!"

"No that's not what I meant, I can't offer mercy since I'm signed up for death matches."

...

...

...

"Kid... why... no don't worry we all have circumstance just... good luck out there."

The other two nodded their heads but still a look of worry was on their faces.

I was new to the arena but even as a newbie since my match was a death match I was not slated to compete first, instead once all ten fighters had reached the red gate an official appeared and explained the card to us, I would fight in the third match the 'main event' of the undercard fights if you will.

As for the other two newbie's they were wearing simple leather armor, wielding copper or iron swords looking honestly scared as hell.

But they still marched on like warriors off up the ramp upon their name being called, the Arena mouth announcing them and then providing commentary after the fights were over.

Then came my turn.

"Carter, you're up!"
