My first fight was a success, and while I was paid for my work, the pay I receive from the pit master was not really much I earned more hunting and selling [White Fur Rabbit] drops but still any copper coins or iron bits help but now that my fight is over.
I returned to my room, before [Resetting] myself and removing my armor and sword but leaving the ring still on my finger.
Now dressed back in my normal clothes I grabbed my bag and left the room empty behind me, worst case i'd come back and need to change rooms but it's not like id need to worry about someone stealing my things.
As a civilian of the kingdom I left the doldrums of the pits behind and climbed the stairs emerging as just a young kid of ten, anyone who was watching would think I had gone down there just for an autograph or something.
Returning to the surface an peering around the surroundings I first went to a busy window with the innocent look only a child could ever pull of.
"Excuse me!"
"Oh hello little boy how can I help you?"
"I need to find the Knights Office?"
"Oh I see, don't worry just go down this street here, and you see that building that looks like a church there?"
"Yeah."
"There's a knights order office right next door to that church."
"Oh thank you sir, I'll get going right away!"
The teller waved me goodbye as I took of running, with my goal set I didn't want to waste any time.
But once I reached the knight orders office well... I'll admit I was scared, I mean actual knights were standing guard at the door, and I'm sure once I saw them I truly looked like a little kid just gawking.
"Hey Kid."
"huh?"
"Yeah you, you just going to stand there or do you need something?"
"Oh, uh yeah I've got something to do here."
"Well get inside then."
Without another word I bowed my head with a bit of shame at being called out for being a tourist, before passing the two armored persons who I could tell were chuckling within their suits.
When I entered the office it was pretty much what you'd expect just a small front room with a single desk, and a male sitting there doing some light paperwork.
"Oh, how can I help you?"
"Uh, well I was told I should bring these in here?"
I took out a stack of cards from my bag and placed them on the man's desk.
His eyebrows raised seeing what I had placed down but then calmly collected the cards and began to leaf through them.
"I'll need to confirm you if that's alright?"
"Sure."
Raising my hand to the man, who then cast the skill.
"By law and light, your name declare, Let truth be shown in open air [Citizen ID Reveal]"
This was a different change than the one the Village Chief uses, but perhaps by being a knight more details could be seen since it is a class with greater authority, or maybe this man is a higher class than even a knight?
"Alright everything looks good here, here you go kid."
Receiving my card back I gave it a quick glance before putting it back into my hand.
Nothing was different from when I could view it myself, so phew there my secret Is still safe.
The man then got up from his desk with the stack of cards.
"I'll be right back with your reward."
That's right I was here to exchange the bandit ID cards i'd earned from killing the bandits who attacked out village.
I'd at least get a minimum amount just like everyone else for each bandit or thief I killed, but if any of the men I killed had a bounty on their heads I was entitled to that reward as well, which was where the knight was going now to check the cards against the kingdoms bounty list and to collect up my reward.
Moments later the man returned without the stack of cards but instead with a cloth bag that jingled slightly.
"Here's your reward kid, only two of them had bounty but you still get a reward for all the others."
"Thank you!"
"Just make sure not to do anything reckless alright kid."
"I promise sir, those were just bad men who attacked my village before I came here."
"You lived near YY?"
"Yes sir."
"Then on behalf of our order I apologize to you and your village."
"huh?"
"Those bandits who attacked your village escaped from an operation we knights conducted in the city to cleanup the lawlessness within our gates, but it seems a number managed to slip away, we'll send some men to check on the other nearby villages to make sure no others managed to slip away."
"Well, there were some who didn't get dealt with during their raid on my village so it's highly possible they are still out there."
"Thanks kid, and don't spend your reward all in one place."
With that the man returned to his desk and without any other business I left the knight order behind after securing my newfound wealth in my pack.
The issue for me was having this wealth is dangerous, I am alone and from what I know of this world so far there are no safe places to store you money at least not for commoners unless you were an explorer or adventurer since they had access to [Item Box] but the only way to become either of those was to sign up with the guilds, which for explorers you had to be at least sixteen years old, and adventurers required you to be a level fifty explorer.
Explorer was also the only job that had a known level all others per the world lore I learned of never spoke of levels, and the reason for this was when you became an explorer your item box was 1x1 and the one 'box' could store a single item, but as you increased your level the growth was exponential.
Level two would get you a 2x2 itembox, so you could then hold four 'items' but each box could now hold two items of it's own.
Though I had heard it was very selective kinda like a video game inventory in that each 'slot' could only store the same item but you could stack that same item.
