Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven

Yes, I knew my decision was definitely clear….

I would continue to dig into the shadows to find out ever damn truth behind the Blackstone and

their mischiefs.

"What? Are you insane?" Janet asked. Her voice was full of shock and I was shocked myself..

But what could I do?

I definitely couldn't back down now when I was so close to reaching the peak.

Claire watched me as I breathed in.

Both Janet and Claire were both waiting for my response, so I breathed in and said,

"All I need is support. These people are on to something and it is my job to find out. I will

definitely crack up the case"

I said with full determination.

My mother had always been my source of energy to push further so I had always been as

determined as ever.

But her death brought a turnover three years ago.

I stopped working for a year but I eventually resumed two years ago because how how much I

loved my work, but now things are becoming a lot more dangerous than usual…

Julian's Pov

I sat on my arm chair close to the huge fireplace of my mansion, since it was winter it was the

best place to be for warmth.

With a cup of whiskey in my hand felt better than the day before as the warmth from the huge

fire place sent a calm sensation down my spine which made me remember that cheeky

journalist.

'Oh God, how could I be getting two problems at the same time.' I thought.

I shut my eyes and adjusted my robe as I rested my back on the armchair.

An image of the little woman pictured in my head and I absolutely felt as though the only way to

fix the two problems at the same time was to get fid of her or…

A CONTRACT MARRIAGE…

The idea seemed to be able to solve the two problems at the same time…

My eyes sung open as the doors of mansion sung open revealing Brandy, Greg and Josh.

'Had I just thought it would be that fearless journalist?' I asked myself.

"Darkness must be where you were given birth to" Brandy chuckled as they all walked into the

sitting room.

"What are you three demons doing here?" I asked with my eyes squinted.

"We are here to pluck out your eyes" Brandy joked.

"Why do you also close the curtains and make this beautiful mansion look like a graveyard?"

Greg asked as he pulled the long curtains up brightening everywhere.

"I guess it's because I'm the devil himself " I said.

"But you are not do cold to the journalist." Brandy said with a teasing tone.

"The journalist?, how about her?" Josh said.

"A journalist is after Julie, don't you know?" Greg replied.

"I didn't! But why would a journalist want to get into hell so quick?" Josh said.

"It's the media, they love to bring out new juicy topics everyday." Brandy said.

"And Julie doesn't want to take care of it the normal way, it shows that he wants something from

her." Brandy added.

"Call me that one more time and I'll cut off your throat with my bare hands!" I said with gritted

teeth.

"Hey, don't get angry now because I can read you clearly." Brandy chuckled.

"Wait, seriously? I thought Julian could never fall for someone." Josh asked.

"We don't know for sure, all we know is that he wants something from her."

Greg replied.

I snorted as they continued talking but deep down I knew they weren't wrong.

"You could just spare us the suspense and tell us what it is you want from that girlie." Brandy

said.

"It's non of your business" I replied indifferently.

"Lucas told me he hasn't got any luck trying to find the media she works for." Brandy said as he

poured himself a glass of whiskey.

"Really?" I asked with much curiosity.

"See!, I knew that that would definitely interest you" Brandy chuckled.

I snoffed again thinking that Brandy had come again with his jokes.

"But I'm serious, man. He said the media made sure to exclude themselve from her research"

"Of course they would!" I blurted out in a calm but cold manner.

"I want you both to find them out by all cost. No matter what it takes." I said with my eyes still

squinted.

"Oh God, what a job. When will I ever have time for my whores?" Brandy groaned.

"I really don't give two ducks about that, I'm pretty sure you know." I said indifferently.

"Don't pull that cold aura on me, Mr devil." Lucas pouted.

"Just do what I say and there will be peace. Then you can have enough time for your whores." I

replied.

Greg and Josh were at the tennis gaming spot, a little distance away from where I and Brandy

were so I took that as an opportunity to ask Brandy the question that had been bothering me for

days.

"Do you think if I could get that journalist to be my contract wife, it would solve the two problems

I had in hand?" The question made Brandy's eyebrows furrow and I understood why.

It will definitely be hard to fool my father, but there was also no harm at trying.

"It could…but how do you intend to get her to agree?" Brandy asked

Leave that to me, all you have to do is to keep a close eye on her for me so I can know when it

is best to carry out my plan." I replied.

"Okay, your wish is my command my Lord!" Brandy said with a playful bow, acting as though he

was in a drama of the royals.

"Quit that, will you?" I pleaded.

"You should have gotten used to me already, because I'm very well used to your mischiefs."

Brandy chuckled.

Truly, we were definitely best of pals. I could trust Brandy with my life but never made it known

to him.

And this was a task I knew only he could do.

I would have to punish that journalist in a way that would be less blood shedding…
