Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine

I packed my car in the parking lot of the company and walked out of the car after putting on my sunglasses.

I adjusted my suit and walked into my company like the CEO devil I was.

As usual everyone kept staring, although they acted as though they were not.

I passed the receptionist's table and handed me a file stating Aurora's request to have a one on one meeting with me…

My lips curved up slightly and I told the receptionist to accept the request, before I continued walking towards the elevator.

I had a feeling this was coming to me and I definitely had to use it to my advantage.

I would get her to become my contract wife so I would solve the two problems I had at hand- What a cheeky plan, isn't it?

Indeed, two can definitely play this game…

I tapped on the ninth floor and the elevator began to move immediately..

It made a ding sound as soon as it got to the ninth floor and I walked out to a scene of workers walking here and there..

They all looked shocked and frightened to see me as I'd usually come to the company only on special occasions.

Today was indeed a special occasion as my company was going to be sponsored by one of the world's largest industries.

And to top it all- I was going to get a wife, a contract wife, but all the same- A wife.

But how was I still going to get her to agree?, I still had no plan..

I would talk to Lucas, he'd have a plan..

I walked into my office with a heavy sign and took off my suit, then I sat on my office chair with my back rested lazily on it.

But before I could close my eyes to think, Lucas abruptly opened the door with a load of files in both his hands.

"Boss, welcome back. These papers have been waiting patiently for you." He said with a large grin.

'Pathetic, he is just as annoying as Brandy ' I thought.

"Keep them and get out, you Moran" I said without a little sense of warmth in my tone, yet he didn't seem to be offended.

Just like Brandy..

"The meeting starts by eight am, boss. I'm so glad you are here in time." Lucas said and walked towards my desk to free his hands off the files. He placed them on the table and turned to me with the same grin.

"Thanks for collaborating with Brandy to make me be here on time." I said arrogantly with an eye roll.

"You are welcome, boss" Lucas replied with a chuckle making me feel as though giving him a hot blow in the face would get his senses back.

"What time is it now?" I asked. Trying to change the topic.

"It's seven forty five am, boss." Lucas replied after looking down at his wristwatch on his left hand.

"Okay." I paused for a while trying to analysis how best I could tell Lucas that I was in need of a marriage contract.

The fingers on my right hand hit the desk one by one and the fingers on my left hand ran their way through my hair...

"Is there any problem, boss?" Lucas asked, increasing the tension I was feeling.

"Not really.. it's nothing too much." I replied. Still trying to analysis the summary of what I wanted from him.

He watched me silently and I knew I had to say it anyways.

"A Contract Marriage, how is it done?" I blurted out…

His eyes fell wide open and seconds later his eyebrows furrowed.

"A lawyer is needed, boss." He replied.

"Great, so then get one." I said. It sounded easier than I thought.

"She will have to sign.." he said.

"I know." I paused for a while and picked up the file the receptionist had given to me this morning and handed it to him.

"She requested to see me on a one on one meeting, and there you have your lead." I continued.

"Oh, that's great." He replied..

"I'll get that all set up real quick, boss!" He added and exited the office.

I sighed in relief as I had finally gotten that off my neck.

Now the biggest problem was getting her to sign!

I wore back on my suit and walked out of the office, locking it behind me..

Then I walked into the elevator again, up to the eleventh floor of the skyscraper for the conference room.

Aurora's Pov

Of course, I knew sending a request to have a one on one meeting with DeMarco was indeed a very death-searching idea..

But hey world, I had no choice..

I needed to get answers by today to write in my article..

But still would he accept to answer my questions?, And even if he did, then why?

Enough of all the drama and questions, I was already getting so exhausted when I was this close to getting the whole evidence…

I wasn't going to back down..

Not now, not ever..

I packed up my small back pack and picked up my coat that laid on the bed…

Then I tied a scarf around my neck and stood on front of the full length mirror…

My animal skin coat looked good on me as well as the fitted white gown I wore inside.

After standing a short while in front of the mirror I rushed down the stairs to get a taxi.

As soon as I was out of my apartment I noticed a black suspicious car parked just a distance away from my apartment and it looked really expensive to be in such a rural area..

So I assumed that DeMarco must have people watching me, so I pretended I saw nothing and boarded a taxi immediately.

The taxi stopped at the large skyscraper building and I alighted the taxi after paying the transport fee…

I stood in front of the building before contemplating whether to go in or to wait a while..

After a long time contemplating, I turned right towards a cafe close to the company.
