In Railer's hospital room, Chantelle found no sign of her missing son, but she did hear the news about the Wilson family's missing person report.
She couldn't clearly distinguish Railer's features because his face was badly bruised.
Before she could figure out something, an unwelcome guest barged in!
She hadn't expected Daniel to arrive so soon.
In an instant, the room was filled with bodyguards in black.
Ashton rushed to the bed, and when he saw the boy's injuries and his confused state, his anger flared. "Railer..."
It was widely known in Easthan that Railer Wilson was autistic and hadn't talked in the last five years.
Despite that, he was deeply loved by the Wilson family.
This woman, whoever she was, had dared to take him and harm him so badly.
To Ashton, she was asking for death.
Daniel's bodyguards surrounded Chantelle, but they stepped aside to let him pass.
Daniel walked towards her, tall and broad-shouldered. His black coat flowed behind him like the wings of an avenging angel.
His sharp features were partly hidden in the shadow, and his dark eyes fixed on Chantelle with a look that seemed to pierce through her soul.
With a cold voice, he demanded, "So you're the one who hurt my son?"
Chantelle gritted her teeth at his bold accusation, standing her ground with a fierce expression. She looked directly into his eyes without flinching and replied sharply, "I didn't do anything like that!"
Anger flickered in her eyes.
They stared at each other, and no one wanted to back down.
Chantelle was no longer weak. She had grown strong over the years and was no longer the shy, pitiful person she had been five years ago.
She wasn't worried about anyone recognizing her.
For years, she had used makeup to hide her appearance, and no one had ever seen her true face.
But when Daniel saw Railer's battered body on the bed, his face darkened with rage. "If it wasn't you, then why were you at Wesley Wilson's grave? Why is my son lying here when he was perfectly fine at the cemetery just earlier?!"
His eyes flashed with anger, and his voice turned cold as he growled, "You can't leave here today for hurting my son!"
He remembered seeing her walk past him on the way to the cemetery.
It wasn't that he didn't recall the encounter, but he never paid attention to anyone who wasn't important.
He had never expected that she would come there to kidnap Railer!
Chantelle ignored Daniel's threats and calmly said, "It wasn't me."
Daniel was about to respond angrily when a sudden cry of surprise and joy came from outside the door.
One of the bodyguards rushed in, holding a boy in his arms.
"It's Railer! He's been found, sir. He's right here!"
Everyone turned to see the commotion and was shocked to see a man in black dragging a little boy.
They were surprised to see a familiar face and wondered why there were now two Railer Wilsons.
Kane lost all his confidence when he saw his mother in the room. He felt dizzy with fear, and his knees gave out, causing him to fall. He thought, I tried to escape the men chasing me by pretending to be Railer, but now I'm going to be sent back to my mom. Why is my luck so bad?
A large man lifted Kane up and hugged him before he could come up with a plan.
When Ashton saw Kane alive and unharmed, he immediately ignored the injured boy on the bed.
His first thought was that he had mistaken the injured boy for Railer. "You're okay, Railer!" he said happily, hugging the little boy.
Kane looked around, confused. When his eyes landed on Daniel, he thought, He must be the man I'm looking for, Daniel Wilson. But why is he here with my mom?
Kane then turned his attention to the young boy lying on the bed with his face covered in bandages.
He wondered, Is he the real Railer? There's no turning back now. I'll have to keep pretending to be him if I want to escape my mom.
Gathering his courage, Kane ran over and hugged Daniel's leg. "I miss you so much, Daddy!"
Daniel looked down at him, bewildered. "Rai?"
Kane kept a straight face and said, "That's me, Daddy. Look closely, I'm your son! The boy on the bed is a stranger!"
Ashton stared in disbelief. "When did you learn to speak, Railer?" He was shocked. Railer had been diagnosed with autism and had never talked before.
Despite Daniel's efforts to find the best doctors, none could treat him. And the boy in front of him was completely different in personality and attitude from the Railer he knew.
Kane hadn't expected Railer to have autism. He quickly tried to cover up his lie. "I can finally speak now! The... the... doctor helped me and treated my autism!"
Although it was strange to hear Railer speak for the first time, Daniel couldn't deny that the boy resembled his son.
"Is that the truth?" he asked, frowning as he hugged Kane tightly.
Kane nodded eagerly. Daniel hesitated, thinking, 'Could this be a misunderstanding? But she paid respects to my grandfather today. Her actions are so suspicious.'
Daniel then lowered his head and asked Kane, "Do you know her?"
Kane's eyes flew to Chantelle and he answered firmly, "I've never seen her. Daddy, why won't you let her go? Are you interested in her?"
Daniel scoffed before picking up Kane and walking out of the room. He avoided looking at Chantelle as he said, "Let's go home. Stay away from a woman like her, Railer. She's a liar!"
Anger filled Daniel as he remembered how Chantelle had deceived him. His hatred for her hadn't faded over the years.
Even though Kane is upset by Daniel's baseless insults toward his mother, he still keeps his composure.
He leaned over Daniel's shoulder and silently mouthed an apology to Chantelle. I'm sorry for not acknowledging you, Mommy. Don't worry, I'll be back after teaching this scumbag a lesson. Take care of yourself and my little brother. Remember to wait for my return!
Kane couldn't wait to reunite with his family after dealing with Daniel.
Chantelle scowled at the young boy in Daniel's arms as she watched the Wilson family leave.
She tried to suppress her frustration, seething inside. How dare he pretend not to know who I am! He even dares to impersonate Railer and put himself in danger! I'm going to teach him a lesson. My worst fear came true. I didn't want Kane to follow me because I was afraid he'd cause trouble and mess up my plans. Things will get complicated if Daniel finds out he has another son. Luckily, Kane is smart. I hope he can keep his identity a secret for as long as possible.
In truth, Chantelle was more worried about Railer's condition.
She walked over to the boy and held his cold hand tightly, a suffocating pain filling her chest as guilt overwhelmed her.
