Chapter 12 - Impressed by you

Silas's POV

The next day, when my eyes opened, I found myself lying on a large, luxurious bed.

I was sleeping in Damon's car last night, wasn't I? Then how did I end up here?

It was a very large room with black paint on the walls. A lamp, resembling a crescent moon, was placed on the side table next to the bed.

As soon as I sat up and stretched, I noticed Damon sitting on the couch in front of the bed, reading a file.

His legs were crossed, one over the other, and he was dressed in a black suit.

That pair of glasses he wore made him look even more handsome.

But for some reason, I could smell a scent that felt as if I were in a forest.

I couldn't tell whether it was the room freshener or pheromones.

Just then, Damon looked at me and began to speak.

"Silas, I want to cast you as the main character in my drama. Have you ever acted before or taken any acting classes?"

For a moment, I was completely dumbfounded, wondering what on earth Damon was suddenly talking about.

"Damon, first tell me where we are right now, because I clearly remember we were heading to the hospital," I said.

Hearing my words, Damon stared at me without moving for a few seconds.

Then he adjusted his glasses with his middle finger, and his gaze lifted directly toward me.

"This is my house—or rather, our house, where all four of us brothers live. I brought you here because you were so deeply asleep that even if the world had ended, you wouldn't have woken up."

My eyes widened in shock at his words. He had brought me to the house where all four brothers lived. If Orian found out about this, he wouldn't like it.

But just then, Damon's earlier words echoed in my ears, as if my mind was trying to remind me.

"Excuse me, who are you to judge me like this?" I blurted out without hesitation because I've never been good at sugarcoating things.

"I'm not judging you," Damon said as he suddenly stood up and began walking toward the bed. With every step he took, the forest-like scent grew stronger.

"I'm genuinely impressed by you and want to cast you in my drama," he said, reaching the bed, and then sat down on it.

Seeing him seated on the bed, I deliberately pulled the blanket up to my neck, trying to cover myself. I wanted him to feel that I was uncomfortable around him.

A lot has happened to me in the past few days.

Leaving my pack... and yes, it's a different matter that probably no one in my pack even knows I've left. After all, no one pays attention to me anyway.

And just yesterday, I ended up at the house of my enemy pack, who wanted to keep me captive.

But with my cleverness, I escaped from their mansion and even ran into the prince of the enemy pack.

Later, I fought alongside him. And now Damon says he wants to cast me in his drama. He's impressed by me.

Is this some kind of prank? Is he doing this to mock me? Because I'm neither as beautiful as other omegas nor have I ever taken any acting classes. So what exactly impressed him about me?

I started giving Damon side-eyes, as if he had done something wrong.

"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that, Silas?" he asked.

I immediately got off the bed because he was my brother's mate. I couldn't talk to him too much.

And if he found out that I belonged to his enemy pack, he wouldn't hesitate to kill me.

So, the best thing for me would be to escape from here as quickly as possible.

"Where are you going? Don't tell me you're planning to escape from here," Damon said, his words stopping me in my tracks.

I glanced at myself, realizing how suspicious I must have looked, tiptoeing out like that.

Of course, anyone would find it odd and start suspecting me. I really am such an idiot sometimes.

But there was no way I was going to admit to Damon that I was actually trying to escape.

"Um, it's just that… I need to use the bathroom. Could you tell me where it is?"

I quickly changed the topic, trying to make him believe I was walking like that because of an urgent need.

"It's right there in front of you," Damon said.

As soon as he spoke, I glanced to my side, spotted the bathroom, and quickly dashed inside, shutting the door behind me.

I had no idea what to do now—how to escape from here without Damon catching me. No matter how much kindness he shows, it doesn't take long for someone to change.

I stood near the door for a full ten minutes, hoping that by now, Damon would have left.

But when I slowly cracked the door open to peek outside, I saw Damon still in the room, pacing back and forth while talking to someone on a call.

I had no idea what to do, so I decided, well, might as well take a shower and brush my teeth while I'm here.

There were brand-new toothbrushes neatly arranged. In fact, everything there was new and perfectly organized.

When I opened the wardrobe, I found brand-new clothes as well, all in my size.

Clothes in my exact size being there could just be a coincidence… or could it?

I stood under the shower, letting the cold water cascade over me. I've always preferred cold showers—they make me feel instantly refreshed.

The sensation of the icy water running down from my head, touching every part of my body, made me forget everything for a moment.

Just then, I heard Damon knock on the door.

"Silas, are you done?"

Can't he even let me shower in peace?

"What's your problem? I'll take as long as I want! Mind your own business!" I shouted angrily, my focus still on the door.

Just as I yelled and was about to continue my shower, I accidentally tripped over my own foot and fell hard.

"Aaaaaaaah!" I screamed loudly as I went down.

Surprisingly, the fall didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. I got back up, brushing myself off, but my gaze instinctively shifted to the door.

"Silas, what happened? Are you okay? Why did you scream all of a sudden?" Damon's concerned voice came from outside.

"I'm fine! I just slipped a little, that's all," I replied quickly, hoping he wouldn't make a big deal out of it.
