Silas's POV
As we stepped out of the mansion, there was a car parked in front of it, and Damon opened the car door for me to sit.
I got into the car, and Damon sat beside me. The girl I had been thinking about, who I assumed was Damon's assistant, started driving the car.
I thought she was just a driver—how dare she glare at me?
As I sat there, I glared at her through the rearview mirror, but of course, she avoided making eye contact with me.
I wondered if it was because Damon was sitting next to me or if she knew I had signed the contract. The black folder she had brought to Damon must have meant she already knew about it.
My full attention was on her, and she occasionally glanced at me while driving.
Then, I noticed Damon was looking at me, his full attention on me. I started looking around nervously.
"You have supernatural powers, right?" Damon asked.
Hearing his question, I turned to him, confused, wondering which supernatural power he was referring to.
Before I could ask, he continued.
"You took down that alpha with a single hand—that's impossible. If I had heard this from someone else, I wouldn't have believed it."
He paused, gazing at me.
"With your body, no one else has so much strength... even though you're short and look like a baby boy. Still, I think you could win a WWE match. I'm giving you a compliment—don't take my words wrong."
I didn't take offense. Hearing him compliment my strength made me feel happy, as no one had ever said anything positive about my strength since childhood.
Other omegas used to taunt me, calling me an incomplete omega. There were times I wished I could be like any other omega, thinking maybe everyone would love me if I were.
Because I was different, I was treated differently.
This was the first time someone had complimented me on my strength, and I couldn't hide my smile.
"Thanks for the compliment, but I don't have supernatural powers. I just have more strength than any other omega," I said, then turned to look out the window.
I knew that even if he had complimented me, he might find it strange to see an omega showing strength.
As I gazed out the window, I saw many large, beautiful buildings lining the road. The buildings were so luxurious that I lost myself in them, dreaming of living in such an apartment alone.
In my pack, I had lived in a mansion, which was big and luxurious, but I never felt it was home as I grew older. I used to dream that, after marriage, Zarek and I would move to the main city, far away from everyone.
But that dream was shattered—like the Moon Goddess was reminding me that, as an omega, I had no right to dream. But I wasn't going to give up. I was going to fulfill all my dreams on my own.
"Yes, I can do it," I said to myself with full confidence.
Damon and I remained silent for the rest of the journey, both looking out the window.
After a while, the car finally stopped. When I opened the door and stepped out, I saw a massive company in front of me. "Gold Era Entertainment" was written in stylish lettering on the building.
Just by looking at it, I could tell this company was far from a normal entertainment company.
"Follow me," Damon said, and started walking ahead. His assistant didn't step out of the car.
I glanced around and then followed Damon. The company's main door had a scanner. Damon pulled out a card and placed it on the scanner, causing the glass door to open.
As we stepped inside, I heard a voice from the door: "Welcome to the company, Mr. President." I assumed there was a mic hidden in the door. This was the first time I had seen something like this.
So many things have changed, I thought. As I followed Damon, he walked straight ahead without glancing back at me.
"Good morning, Mr. President," everyone we passed greeted him. I guessed he was the president, which explained the respect.
There were many stars I had seen in ads, movies, and dramas here, dressed casually and walking like ordinary citizens.
A few of them were my favorites, but I didn't dare approach them.
We then stepped into an elevator, and Damon pressed the button for the 15th floor. I stood quietly beside him, glancing around.
"Silas."
I glanced at him as I heard my name.
"Silas, do your best, okay? Learn everything, because I trust you and gave you this role. Don't disappoint me."
Hearing his words, I nodded with confidence.
"Don't worry, Mr. Damon. I'll give my 100%, and I won't make you regret your decision."
He simply smiled and looked ahead at the elevator door.
When the elevator stopped, he led me to his office and sat at his desk.
"Take a seat. Don't just stand there," he said, gesturing toward the sofa.
I sat on the sofa while he began working on his laptop. It was so boring since I didn't have my phone with me. I think I lost it, but I couldn't remember where.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Yes, come in," Damon called.
A guy entered wearing a large black hoodie and black track pants. He wore glasses, which made him look nerdy, and his face was covered by a mask, so I couldn't see his features.
I guessed he was a little taller than me. As I tried to sense his pheromon
es, I realized there were none. He seemed to be a beta, because alphas didn't look like this.
He was even more beautiful and handsome as he took a step forward. I stood up from the sofa, and our eyes met.
His eyes were brown, and both of his hands were in the pockets of his hoodie.
