Chapter 23 - WHAT YOU BLEED

"No matter what they do, do not admit to anything," Thania said in a low voice.

The crying had died down a little, everybody had began to accept whatever was coming.

The line moved slowly and the only sounds were the quiet sobs of some of the girls and the heavy thuds of the servants boots on the wooden floors as they moved around.

My heart beat quickened with each step I took.

I couldn't see where we were going, but I could feel it was bad.

The air was thick and suffocating and from where I stood, I could feel an immense flow of dark energy hovering in the air.

One by one, the girls ahead of me were shoved forward.

I could hear their muffled cries and the slam of wood against stone as a door closed behind them.

My turn came sooner than I had expected. I wanted to run but how far could a blind girl possibly run.

A rough hand grabbed the back of my dress and before I could brace myself, I was thrown forward.
