Aurora James - POV
"Aurora!" I heard Levi yell my name from the kitchen as I placed the pillow against my ear to block him out. The sun has barely risen on the horizon, but Levi wants me back on the training grounds. "Aurora, we might get late. Wake up!" his voice got a little louder when I finally gave up on my sleep and got up.
I rubbed my eyes to get rid of the sleep and made my way to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I put on my workout outfit and walked to the kitchen to see that Levi had prepared us some coffee, and he was by the stove making pancakes.
"Something smells delicious," I exclaimed as I took a seat at the table and watched him cook. He was wearing a pair of basketball shorts and a black T-shirt.
"Breakfast is the most important thing in the morning. But I am not an expert, so you might have to manage," he said as he placed two plates on the table and took a seat opposite me. I had only taken one bite of my food when we heard the doorbell.
"Who on earth comes here at this time?" I asked Levi when I looked out through the kitchen window to see that it was still pitch dark outside.
"Let me go and check," he said as he left the kitchen. I didn't hear anything for a few minutes when my nostrils filled with the divine scent of oranges and cinnamon. My head turned in the direction of the hallway when I saw Zander walk inside the kitchen with Levi behind him.
"Beta Perez, it's a surprise to see you here this morning," I said as I got up from my place.
"I was going to the training grounds when I decided to pay a visit, Miss. James," he said when I noticed that he had a bag in his hand.
"Please take a seat," I told him as I offered him my chair and went over to stand next to Levi.
"I am sorry if I interrupted your breakfast." he apologized, and I saw Levi's eyes widen in horror when he heard his Beta apologize to him.
"You don't have to apologize, Bet Perez. I think we are honored to have you here this morning." Levi said as he walked past me towards the stove. "Let me make some pancakes for you," he said, but Zander didn't say anything as he stared at me.
"I brought you some fruits," he said as he extended the bag towards me. I took the bag with a nervous smile on my face and peered inside to see that there was a watermelon, some apples, grapes, and two cantaloupes. My eyes widened in awe when I saw the cantaloupes. I just love this fruit. I have only tasted this once when I went on a road trip with my mom a few years ago.
The locals claimed that this is a seasonal fruit and not many places have it. That was the first and last time I had that fruit, and I never saw it nor bought it again. The other fruits that were inside the bag were something you could easily get, but not this one, and how on earth did he find out that I love this fruit?
"Thank you, Beta Zander. That's so kind of you." I told him as I placed the bag on the countertop when Levi placed a plate of pancakes in front of Zander. All of us sat back at the table and began eating our food.
I only took three bites of the pancake when I began to feel a queasy feeling in my stomach as I felt the acidic bile rise up my throat. The fork clattered onto the plate as I abruptly got up from the table and ran down the hallway into the bedroom. "Aurora! Aurora, wait!" I heard Levi yell as I rushed into the bathroom, and I barely managed to reach the toilet bowl when I emptied the contents in my stomach.
Doctor Jenkins told me that the food poisoning I had was quite worse, and in order to keep the food from coming back out, she did prescribe some medicine for me to take, but I guess I forgot. I felt Levi hold my hair away from my face as I began to dry heave into the toilet bowl. "Are you done?" Levi asked me, and I nodded my head as he led me to the sink where I rinsed my mouth a few times.
I felt a little lightheaded as we walked out of the bathroom, and from my peripheral vision, I saw Zander storm out of the house. I didn't have the energy to go after him right now, I laid down on the bed and closed my eyes. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt Levi lightly shake me awake.
"You need to take your medicines, Aurora," he said, and I nodded my head and sat up against my headboard.
"What is that?" I asked him as I saw a tray placed on the side table next to me with a plate of cookies and a cup of black coffee.
"You need to have something after taking the medicines. And black coffee would help you with the nauseous sensation as well," he said, but I shook my head. The sight of food made me want to puke again.
"I don't think I can eat anything right now, Levi."
"You can not sleep on an empty stomach, Aurora. At least have one biscuit and drink this coffee. You will feel better." he insisted, and I knew that he would not leave my side today if I didn't do what he said.
"Okay," I told him as I took the mug from his hand and began drinking the coffee. Once I ate two cookies, he took the tray out of the room while I laid down back on the bed and closed my eyes.
"I am going out for my training sessions." I heard Levi's voice, and as I opened my eyes, I saw him standing near the doorway. "Give me a call if you need anything, all right?" he asked me, and I nodded my head.
