Aurora James - POV
"You are creeping me out, Levi," I said when I placed the coffee mug on the table and got up from my place.
"They say miracles do happen, and I think I could finally believe in them," he said with glee, and this only confused me further.
"And what is this miracle that happened among the chaos we are currently in?" I asked him, hinting about the reality that we are currently living in.
"Beta Perez is finally hosting our traditional breakfast get-together today. Ever since Heather left, he began to withdraw from all sorts of social activities. But this is the first time he is renewing it again." Levi said, and this only puzzled me further.
"Why are you excited about that, Levi?" I questioned when a sad smile graced his face.
"I have always wanted to see him move on from Heather. And it looks like he has finally decided to do exactly that," he exclaimed.
"And don't you feel suspicious about his behavior?" I asked him, but he shook his head as he got up from his place and walked into the room, leaving me with my thoughts.
What is he up to right now?
"We have to be there in thirty minutes, Aurora." I heard him yell from the room. I drank the warm coffee and walked to the bedroom to choose an outfit. After taking a shower, I put on a red dress that stopped an inch above my knees, paired with some nude sandals, and walked to the mirror.
As I combed my hair and tied a ponytail, that was when I saw the hickeys on my neck. My cheeks turned a deep red as I remembered the events of last night.
I know I can't go out like this. I looked inside my makeup pouch when I found my concealer and began applying it over the love bites. It took quite a lot of concealer, but I finally managed to cover them all. I removed my ponytail and let my hair in curls as I walked outside to see that Levi was already waiting for me in the living room.
After locking the front door, we began walking toward Zander's house. As we reached the porch, Levi rang the bell, and a few minutes later, Zander opened the door. "Right on time, please come inside," he said with a huge smile plastered on his face, and this only made my suspicion increase.
What is he up to right now?
Levi walked inside first, leaving me alone with Zander as I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Does your mate know you were here last night, Miss. James?" Zander mocked when I glared at him, but then a smile appeared on my face.
"I don't think he bothered asking about that after the passionate night we shared, Beta Perez," I said when I saw the smile fade away from his face as anger consumed him. With two large strides, he consumed my personal space as he placed his hands on either side of my waist and pulled me close to him.
"What are you doing?" I whispered as I felt the sparks travel down my body while our faces were only an inch apart. His finger moved up to my neck, and he began rubbing my skin, which only increased my heart rate as I stared right into his eyes.
"I would have known if something happened between the two of you, Aurora. And I would not have let you finish." every word that came out of his mouth felt like a promise when he finally brought his finger to my eye level.
"You should wear my mark with pride, not hide them." I saw the concealer on his fingers, and it was like I was broken out of my trance as I pushed him away. I immediately ran into the living room and peered at myself in the mirror when I saw that one of the hickeys that was close to my ear was exposed right now.
With an arrogant smile on his face, he began walking towards the dining room, leaving me fuming in anger. I didn't have my makeup pouch with me to cover this up, so I had no choice but to use my hair to hide the mark.
As I reached the dining room, I saw that Adrian was there as well, and Levi had already taken his place next to him, leaving me no choice but to sit next to Zander.
I made my way to one of the vacant places and took a seat, and soon, a few omegas walked inside with our food. "Are you ready to leave, Levi?" Zander casually spoke after a while, and Levi nodded his head. When they began speaking about the murders that happened, I tuned them all out and focused on my food.
"Ouch!" I yelped when everyone stared at me.
"Is everything all right, Aurora?" Levi asked me when I nodded my head with a forced smile on my face.
"Um…I felt like something ran over my foot." I said when he stared at me for a long time before their conversation resumed. I placed the fork on my plate and moved my hand to my thigh as I tried to get Zander's hand off.
"Get your hands off, Zander." I hissed when I saw the corner of his lips lift when his hand moved further up my thigh as his fingers lingered dangerously close to my panty line. I felt my breathing increase as I glared at him.
"Relax, Aurora. It's not like we have not done this before," he said when I grabbed his hand and tried to get it off, but then he began to draw light circles in my inner thigh, which made something wet pool between my legs. "I thought you didn't want me," he whispered when I abruptly got up from the table, making everyone look at me.
"I will be right back," I said and hurriedly walked out of there.
