"Aaa!" Cassandra was shocked and screamed as she woke beside a strange man. To make matters worse, the man was shirtless, and she was only wearing underwear.
'What's going on, why is he sleeping with me?'
"Morning, sweetheart!" The man beside Cassandra greeted her.
Cassandra gasped, shook her head, and pushed the man to the ground.
"Hey, what are you doing in my bed? Are you trying to harass me? Get out of here!" Cassandra pointed her index finger at the door.
The man got up slowly and rubbed his banged-up knee as he chuckled at Cassandra. This time, he gave Cassandra a hungry lion stare and crawled onto the bed.
Cassandra was getting nervous. "A .... What are you doing? Get away! Get out of here!"
But the man didn't care. He moved closer to Cassandra, making the brown-haired girl's heart beat faster. As the stranger's face got closer to her, Cassandra slowly moved backwards.
The man picked up a folder on the nightstand, right beside Cassandra. The stranger waved the folder he found, said yes in front of Cassandra's face, and smiled slightly.
"What are you thinking about? I just took this. Or maybe you really want me to fuck you like last night?" the man quipped and handed the folder he found to Cassandra, and she stood up to get dressed.
Cassandra slowly opened the folder and was even more surprised to find a marriage certificate with her photo and name.
"Charles Parker." Cassandra read the name listed as her married partner. She glanced at the strange man and covered her mouth.
'I married him? Who is that man? How can I be married to him?' Cassandra thought to herself as she lifted the blanket slowly and saw a red stain on the sheet.
'Oh, I lost my virginity, and does that mean...' Cassandra glanced at the man.
"Why, are you still fascinated with me?" asked Charles, who then took his place beside Cassandra.
"How can we get married? I don't know you at all, and this seems to be our first meeting," asked Cassandra, who still couldn't hide her surprise.
Charles looked deeply into Cassandra's green eyes. "Have you forgotten what happened last night? You even went so far as to ask me not to leave."
Cassandra closed her eyes momentarily and held her temples, trying to remember what had happened last night.
All she remembered was that she had come to celebrate Vivian Hartley's birthday at one of the nightclubs in Las Vegas. The party was wild that night, and Cassandra drank repeatedly because she kept losing games.
'Did I drink too much that I could go out with a guy and end up like this? I only had a few drinks, but why did I have to get so drunk, and why didn't Vivian take me home?'
Cassandra fell silent as she tried to recall what happened. 'Wait, if Vivian didn't save me, is it possible that she went through something similar to me, or is it possible that what she went through was worse than what I went through?'
"Apparently, even you are wild for a virgin." Charles glanced at Cassandra with a seductive gaze.
"We can't be married. It must be fake!" Cassandra exclaimed in disbelief.
"You can check the registry website to see if the marriage is legal. Isn't there a registration number on the certificate?" replied Charles.
Quickly, Cassandra grabbed her phone and started doing what Charles suggested, and boy, was he right. Their marriage certificate was genuine, and they were registered as a married couple.
The girl covered her face with both hands and then unconsciously started crying.
"Hey, why are you crying? Are you too excited about our marriage?" Charles asked in a soft voice and started stroking the girl's hair.
Cassandra slowly looked up. "Tell me, how did you find me and we married?"
Charles smacked his lips. "Well, I saw you dancing alone at the club, and your body swayed. I caught you, and you asked me not to leave. You kept teasing me with kisses and gentle touches until you finally told me I was your world. Even when I asked you to marry me, you didn't refuse, and we went straight into the wedding chapel and got married."
"Didn't any of my friends try to stop you?"
Charles furrowed his brow, "Friends? I didn't see them. You were alone at the time."
"What?"
Cassandra furrowed her brow. How could she have been alone at the club? While she had come with Jordan, her fiancé, to celebrate Vivian's birthday. Why weren't the two of them and her other friends there? Was it possible that she was separated from them?
Cassandra looked down limply and threw her back against the love-shaped bedrest.
"Is there a problem with our marriage? I don't think so. We were both single before we married, or did you have a boyfriend?"
"Charles, listen to me! This marriage is invalid. I can't marry you! You don't have to worry; I'll handle the divorce! Write your address and phone number here so I can immediately send you our divorce papers."
Cassandra quickly changed her clothes and prepared to leave Charles. She had to go immediately to find her half-brother and fiancé.
"Where are you going?" asked Charles.
"Back to San Francisco, of course!"
"I'll take you!" Charles held Cassandra's hand, but she shook it off. Charles had her again, this time with more force until Cassandra's body turned to face him.
"I am your husband, so I must take you! I insist!" Charles exclaimed firmly this time.
That's when Charles took Cassandra to the airport, where they boarded an economy-class flight to San Francisco. Charles repeatedly glanced at Cassandra, who looked panicked as if she feared something.
"This isn't your first time on a plane, right?" Charles asked, but Cassandra didn't care.
The girl continued to be nervous while wringing her hands. She continued to do this until she arrived at the Miller family home.
Cassandra immediately ran into the house, not caring that she now came with Charles. She continued to shout Vivian's name because she was worried that something had happened to her half-sister.
"Vivian!" Cassandra called to the garden on the right side of the house. She saw her half-sister standing behind a chair with her father.
Cassandra immediately went to her half-sister's house to make sure nothing terrible had happened to her. But when she arrived, she saw Jordan, her father, and her stepmother.
"You guys are back? Are you two..."
Plak!
Cassandra's father slaps her immediately.
"Dad, why did you slap me? What did I do?" asked Cassandra while holding her cheeks, which were now burning.
Geoffry, Cassandra's father, only glanced sarcastically at his biological daughter. "You still ask what you did? Did I raise and finance you to be a slut?"
"What?" asked Cassandra, not understanding.
