Chapter 11 - Part 11

Seeing Charles' reaction, Vivian and Jordan felt they had the upper hand. It would be easier for them to bring Cassandra down.

"Cassandra, I told you that that dress was too expensive for you, but you didn't listen to me and decided to pay for it with your husband's card. If only you had listened to me earlier, your husband would not have gotten angry," Vivian said in a soft voice.

"Never mind, Vivian. Your stepbrother can't be talked to nicely. Maybe he still thinks he's rich and the heir to the Miller family, when in fact he is...." Jordan glanced briefly at Cassandra, then grinned, "Actually, she's just an immoral woman. It's still good that her father wants to accommodate her to live in the Miller family's house and give her a job, but instead, she acts wild and gets drunk."

"What are you talking about?" asked Charles suddenly while squinting at Vivian.

The blonde-haired girl moved closer to Charles and tried to hold his hand, but Charles brushed her off. Vivian again showed a fake smile and said flirtatiously, "Mmm, Charles, this time I represent my stepsister. I apologize to you for Cassandra's attitude that went too far. You can just advise her gently, no need to be harsh like my stepfather. If you are too harsh, I worry about her future, where she will live, and how she will live her life. You know that since my father sent her away from home, she hasn't brought anything with her?"

"Vivian, what are you defending her for? she's already embarrassed you and your extended family. She even messed up your birthday party, embarrassed you at the cafe and she's done a lot of bad things to you. You don't have to be so nice to defend her!" Jordan exclaimed.

Vivian turned to Jordan and smiled slightly, "Jordan, you can't be like that. After all, Cassandra is my stepsister and we both grew up together. Whether she's good or bad I feel for her too."

While shaking her hair, Vivian said this while Cassandra looked down and tightly squeezed the paper strap.

"You heard that Cassandra, Vivian has let you down many times, but she still defends you. What a shameless woman!" quipped Jordan.

"Cassandra, you should either apologize to your husband for wasting his money, or you should pay him back. Don't you feel sorry for your hard-working husband, and you spent over a million dollars in less than an hour." Vivian then put her arm around Cassandra and smiled at her, "If you apologize to him, I'm sure he'll forgive you and won't be angry with you."

Cassandra thought maybe it was confirmed that she was too extravagant and seemed to be taking advantage of Charles. The brunette looked up at her husband and said softly, "Charles... I..."

Before Cassandra could finish her sentence, Charles immediately looked into her eyes sharply and showed her the receipt for the dress she had bought. "Cassandra, you just went shopping for a dress and spent a million dollars?" Charles stopped his sentence for a moment and watched Cassandra, who was looking down silently.

Meanwhile, Vivian and Jordan glanced at each other and squinted at Cassandra. Their smiles clearly showed that they were mocking Cassandra.

"Sorry," Cassandra replied softly.

Charles snorted in annoyance and looked back at Cassandra seriously. "You think I'm too poor to afford a million-dollar dress?"

Cassandra gasped in shock at Charles' answer. "You... you're not angry that I used too much of your money?"

Charles shook his head quickly, then turned to the saleswoman near Cassandra. "Did you help her earlier?"

The boutique employee nodded politely and said yes to Charles.

"Then, please help my wife find shoes, bags and other accessories to complement the dress she has bought!" Charles ordered.

"Yes, sir," said the clerk as she approached Cassandra." Miss, please come with me. We will show you our special products."

"Come with her, my wife. Let her help you!" Charles said to Cassandra.

"But Charles... isn't it..." Cassandra stammered.

Charles immediately closed Cassandra's lips using his index finger. "There is no but. Even though your family threw you away, you are still the most special one in my eyes. You are a precious diamond in my eyes. Remember, my job is to work to earn money for you to have fun. If you are happy then I will be happy."

Cassandra nodded. "Thanks Charles."

"No need to thanks, it is my pleasure to stisfy you. Can I get a kiss on my cheek" Charles pleaded.

Cassandra smiled shyly, eager to refuse. But when she saw Jordan and Vivian, who looked upset, she decided to make Charles' request. Without hesitation, Cassandra put her arms around Charles' neck and kissed his cheek, "Thanks, my dear husband. I'm going shopping first."

"Yes, sweety, take everything you like!" Charles exclaimed when he saw Cassandra, who walked away smiling.

After Cassandra left, Vivian, who looked upset, immediately approached Charles while accompanied by Jordan. "Mmm Charles, I'm sorry I didn't mean to interfere in your household affairs. But Cassandra is my stepsister, and we grew up together. Cassandra has always been very extravagant, and I think you should limit her spending. If you spoil her too much, I'm afraid she'll spend all your money."

Charles just turned his head and grinned at Vivian. "It doesn't matter if she likes to shop with my money. I think it's a very good thing, because it shows how successful a husband I am and if she doesn't ask me, who will she ask."

After saying this, Charles chuckled and turned around, but before that, he snapped his fingers and smiled mockingly at Vivian. "Oh, I forgot, if you want to be pampered, why not ask him? He's your partner, isn't he? If he loves you, he'll definitely spoil you like I did Cassandra."

Charles left Vivian, who was currently upset, and walked quickly out of the boutique, followed by Jordan.

"Huh! Why is she so lucky now. I used to get what she wanted, and Cassandra always gave in, but now...." Vivian stomped her foot outside the boutique.

"Hey, honey, you don't have to nag like this," Jordan said, trying to calm Vivian down.

"How can I not nag. Didn't you see what that man did. He's not mad at Cassandra, he's defending her and insulting us. Do you still want to keep quiet? You should have done what Charles said!" Vivian exclaimed in annoyance.

"Hey Vivian, sweetpie. You don't need to be swayed by his words. He's just bluffing us. Don't you think that what he's saying makes no sense? Maybe right now she wants to return the dress she bought. After all, who would Cassandra want to show off in such a beautiful dress?"

Vivian smiled slightly and said, "Ah, they must be trying to return it now. We'll come back later, and I want you to buy it for me!"

"Me?" asked Jordan as he pointed at himself.

"Yes, you. Who else could it be? Don't you love me like that man said you did? If you don't then forget it. Huh!" Vivian then left Jordan. Meanwhile, Jordan scratched his head, didn't itch and continued to follow Vivian to seduce her.
