"Charles, are you really taking me away? Where are we going?" asked Cassandra from inside the taxi.
"To my house. Where else do you want to go?" asked Charles flatly.
"To your house? Are you crazy? I don't know you, you shouldn't ask me to go to your house!" Cassandra retorted.
Charles chuckled. "We're married, have you forgotten?"
Cassandra snorted in annoyance and leaned against the taxi's passenger seat. "Yes, you're right we were married, but the marriage happened because we were both on drugs, and it shouldn't have happened. We can divorce and go our separate ways."
"Hmm," Charles replied.
"Hey, pull over, I'll stop right there!" Cassandra yelled at the taxi driver.
"No, just go! We're still going to the airport!" exclaimed Charles.
"No, stop!" Cassandra retorted.
An argument was inevitable for both of them. Neither of them wanted to give in at the moment. Finally, the taxi driver was bigug and glanced at the two of them.
"Where are you going? As a driver, I am of course confused by the attitude of the two of you. Don't you two realize that what you are doing can cause accidents. If you two want to die, just die by yourselves, don't invite me. I still need money for my son's surgery!" the taxi driver said, stopping their argument.
Cassandra and Charles were silent for a moment. Then Charles took out his wallet, took out a silver card, and handed it to the taxi driver. "This card has ten thousand dollars inside. You can use it for your son's surgery, and I'll still pay your taxi fare as usual. Now do you know where to take us?"
The taxi driver looked hesitant, but Charles kept persuading him until he finally said, "We're going to the airport now, right?"
Charles nodded and smiled triumphantly at Cassandra. The girl continued to scream and even beat on the window. "Help! I've been kidnapped!"
Cassandra grabbed her cell phone and tried to call someone, but Charles grabbed the flat object and kissed Cassandra gently on the lips.
"You..."
Charles kissed her again, doing this every time Cassandra was about to open her mouth to say something.
"If you don't come with me, where will you go? Do you want to sleep on the streets? Remember right now I am the only family you have. Your father already told you to leave with nothing, then your ex-fiancé jumped on the bandwagon to blame you. Are you still thinking of persuading them to accept you back?" Charles asked.
Cassandra snorted in annoyance and leaned back again. She finally chose to remain silent until they arrived at the airport.
'Huh, it's fine that he can take me to the airport now, but once I arrive I'll run away and leave this strange man behind!' Cassandra thought.
"Just stop here!" exclaimed Charles, startling the driver and Cassandra.
"Hey, what are you doing? You said you were going to take me to the airport, but the entrance to the airport is still more than five miles away!" protested Cassandra. But Charles didn't care. Instead, he glared at the narrow glass and made the taxi driver stop.
Charles pulled Cassandra out of the car and didn't let her escape, as if he knew what Cassandra was thinking.
"Let go! You kidnapper! Where are you taking me?" Cassandra shouted while beating Charles with her handbag.
"Shut up! Can't you keep your mouth shut?" Charles asked coldly.
"Why is that? Are you afraid that people will notice you and arrest you, or maybe they will stop you and beat you up?" Cassandra retorted, and the girl smiled triumphantly.
'Hmm I know. If I keep shouting, this obscure man definitely won't dare when he's the center of attention.'
Cassandra looked at her surroundings. There was quite heavy traffic as people rushed to the airport. Turning her head to the right, she saw a row of black luxury cars usually used by important people, and now Charles was taking her there.
'Ah, those cars must belong to a conglomerate or perhaps an important official. Usually important officials or conglomerates bring personal bodyguards, and I'll draw their attention so that I can get away from this strange man.'
"Help! Help! Let me go! Help, I've been kidnapped!" shouted Cassandra, trying to get attention.
"I told you, be quiet!" shouted Charles as he continued to pull Cassandra closer to the luxury car. Cassandra screamed even louder, finally forcing Charles to lift her onto his shoulders. Eventually, a Rolls Royce pulled up beside them, followed by another luxury car.
Cassandra smiled, thinking she would be saved. But apparently not. The Rolls Royce driver opened the door for both of them.
"Let's go! Don't make a traffic jam here!" Charles ordered the Rolls Royce driver, who was now wondering about the woman with the young master.
"I'm taking my wife home. She'll be the lady of the house after this!" added Charles as if he knew what was on the driver's mind.
Cassandra furrowed her brow. She was still trying to figure out what had happened to her, from the sudden marriage to being kicked out of the house, and now she was actually going to be with a strange man. Plus, the man who married her seemed to have an extreme power. Who exactly is Charles?
"Are you still thinking of being able to escape from me? Are you thinking of attracting the attention of the bodyguards who drive that luxury car to rescue you and treat me like a criminal?" asked Charles, who seemed to be able to guess the contents of Cassandra's mind. The young man smiled slightly and said, "Save your hopes for them, my beautiful wife. They are my people."
"Huh! Who are you exactly?"
Charles just chuckled. "Are you still forgetting? I am your husband! You're so funny, we've only been married for a day and you've already forgotten who I am. Is it possible that you're doing this on purpose to get my attention?"
"Huh!" Cassandra looked annoyed.
"Are you angry?" asked Charles, trying to touch Cassandra's cheek, but she pushed his hand away.
This time, the luxury car they were travelling in turned into the airport's visitor-only lane, which confused Cassandra even more. "Why are we going this way? Who are you?"
Charles smiled faintly and was about to open his mouth, but Cassandra immediately pointed a forefinger before his face. "Don't say my husband again! Just tell me your true identity. We're husband and wife after all. You've met and known my family, but I don't recognize who you are."
Again, Charles smiled slightly. "Oh, you finally admitted that we are husband and wife. Now you can keep your curiosity about my identity. I'll talk to you when we're on the plane!"
Cassandra furrowed her brows again, and her curiosity grew.
