Day two of "Operation: Empty the Jar." My fingers felt like noodles, and the jar was still half full. Master Fang Zheng sat nearby, nibbling on sunflower seeds like he was watching the best play of his life.
"This is ridiculous," I muttered, scooping water out with my hands for the hundredth time.
"Ridiculous?" Fang Zheng echoed, raising an eyebrow. "Do you think the heavens care if your task is 'ridiculous'? This is about perseverance, Amon. The path to greatness requires patience."
I groaned. "Couldn't I just punch the jar? That's perseverance too, right?"
Fang Zheng smirked. "Feel free to try. But remember, you'll be the one cleaning up the shards."
I glared at the jar like it had personally offended me. Then, an idea struck me. "Wait… what if I drink the water instead?"
Fang Zheng chuckled. "If your stomach can handle ten liters, go ahead."
Challenge accepted. I began chugging the water, determined to win this insane game. By the fifth gulp, I realized my mistake.
"Master… I don't feel so good…"
Fang Zheng shook his head, barely hiding his laughter. "Ah, the folly of youth. Let this be your first lesson: shortcuts often lead to unpleasant ends."
As I staggered off to empty my stomach behind a bush, Fang Zheng called out, "And don't forget to finish the jar when you're done!"
This was going to be a long, long day.
