Carl immediately narrowed his eyes alertly, his right hand subconsciously pressed on the weapon at his waist, and his left hand grabbed Mark's arm and pulled him back: "Back off!" His tone was low and urgent, and his eyes were fixed on the widening crack on the ground.
Mark was startled by Carl's sudden action, staggered back a few steps, and almost hit the ice wall behind him. He stabilized his body and looked at the rapidly spreading crack on the ground, feeling uneasy. "What's going on?" He asked in a low voice with a hint of fear in his eyes.
The crack became wider and wider, and ice-blue cold air gushed out of the gap, accompanied by a low roar, as if some huge creature was struggling deep underground. The temperature in the cave dropped suddenly, and Mark couldn't help shivering. He wrapped his cold-proof clothes tightly and clenched the ice sword in his hand. A hint of cold touch came from his palm, which made him feel a little relieved.
Boom!
The ground shook violently, and broken ice splashed everywhere. The crack completely collapsed, and a huge frost beast emerged from the ground, making a deafening roar. The beast was ice blue all over, flashing with cold light, and its huge ice claws were like sharp blades, flashing with a chilling light. Its towering body almost occupied the entire cave, and its huge shadow enveloped Carl and Mark. A strong sense of oppression came over them. The appearance of the beast made the entire cave tremble, and some small ice cones fell from the top of the cave, hitting the ground with a crisp sound.
The beast waved its huge ice claws, bringing a sharp cold wind, and slapped the two people hard. The whistling wind mixed with ice chips, scraping Mark's cheek like a knife. At the critical moment, Mark subconsciously raised his ice sword to block.
Clang!
A deafening metal collision sound echoed in the cave, and the huge force made Mark's palm numb, and the ice sword almost slipped out of his hand. He staggered back a few steps before he could barely stabilize his body, and a sharp pain came from his arm.
"Mark!" Seeing this, Carl's eyes flashed with worry.
Mark realized that ordinary attacks were ineffective against the giant beast, and he had to find its weakness. He took a deep breath, forcibly suppressed the pain in his arm, and a trace of determination flashed in his eyes. He raised the ice sword again, and the sword body flashed with red and blue light, ready to meet the next attack.
The giant beast roared angrily, and it seemed to be angered by Carl's attack. It waved its huge ice claws again and slapped Carl. Carl dodged quickly and fired energy bombs again to try to stop the giant beast from moving forward, but it was in vain.
Seeing that the giant beast's attention was focused on Carl, Mark seized this opportunity and quickly went around the side of the giant beast. He noticed that the gap in the ice armor at the joint of the giant beast's hind legs seemed to be larger than other places. He moved in his heart, and a bold plan formed in his mind.
Carl rolled to avoid the attack of the giant beast, and quickly retreated after landing. His eyes met with Mark's, and he instantly understood Mark's intention. He began to consciously attract the attention of the beast, directing its attack towards himself, creating opportunities for Mark.
The beast was attracted by Carl, and its huge body turned towards Carl, waving its claws again. Carl dodged flexibly, using the terrain to deal with the beast, trying not to let it get close to Mark.
Mark took a deep breath and aimed the tip of the ice sword at the gap between the beast's hind legs. He continuously injected the energy in his body into the ice sword, and the light on the ice sword became more and more dazzling. The red and blue lights intertwined to form a dazzling purple light.
"Hah!" Mark shouted in a low voice, and threw the special energy rope in his hand like a spirit snake. The rope flashed with a faint blue light and was precisely wrapped around the beast's hind legs.
The beast was tripped by the rope, and its huge body fell to the ground with a deafening crash, shaking the entire cave. It roared angrily and struggled to break free, and its huge ice claws left deep scratches on the ground.
Mark seized the opportunity and rushed to the behemoth, stuffing the condensed energy ball into the crack of the ice armor at the joint of the behemoth's hind legs. The energy ball emitted a dazzling red light, beating like a heart.
"Carl, retreat!" Mark shouted, and then pulled Carl away quickly.
Carl did not hesitate at all and quickly retreated with Mark. They had just run to a safe distance when the energy ball exploded violently.
Boom!
A deafening explosion echoed in the cave, and the entire cave shook violently, as if it would collapse at any time. The dazzling white light instantly filled the entire cave, and the behemoth let out a painful wail, and its huge body fell heavily to the ground again, stirring up a piece of ice chips and dust.
After the explosion, the cave was in a mess, with broken ice and rocks everywhere. Mark and Carl walked out from behind the bunker. They looked at the behemoth lying on the ground and confirmed that it had lost its ability to move.
Mark walked to the behemoth and poked the behemoth's body with an ice sword, but the behemoth did not respond. He was relieved, walked to the ice platform, and took the ice crystal from the ice platform guarded by the giant beast. The ice crystal was cold to the touch, emitting a faint glow, like a star in the night sky.
"We succeeded." Mark looked at the ice crystal in his hand, his tone was a little tired and excited.
Carl walked to Mark and patted his shoulder, "Let's go, we should leave."
Mark nodded, carefully put away the ice crystal, and then left the cave with Carl.
"Where is the next stop?" Mark asked.
Carl took out the map, spread it in front of Mark, pointed to one of the red dots and said, "Go to the volcano."
Carl put the map away, put it back in the waterproof bag inside the backpack, and patted it. "The volcanic area has a complicated terrain, we have to be careful." He looked up at the sky outside the cave, which was gray and misty. "It looks like it's going to snow."
