"Well, let's hurry up." Mark said.
The two walked along the edge of the glacier crack towards the volcano group on the map. The biting cold wind mixed with snowflakes kept hitting their faces. They could only squint their eyes and identify the direction with difficulty. It was white all around, and visibility was extremely low. They could only rely on the map and compass to grope forward. After walking for an unknown period of time, Carl suddenly stopped and pointed to a vaguely visible black shadow in front of him, and shouted to Mark: "There seems to be something ahead!" Hearing Carl's shout, Mark immediately became alert, clenched the ice sword in his hand, slowed down, and approached the black shadow carefully. "Don't make a sound, let's get closer and see." Mark said, lowering his body, crouching, and touching the black shadow. Carl nodded, and also clenched the ice pick in his hand, followed Mark, and moved forward step by step. As they continued to get closer, the black shadow gradually became clearer. It was a huge ice cave, the entrance of which was covered by thick ice and snow, and a faint light could be seen flickering inside. "There seems to be light in this ice cave." Carl said to Mark in a low voice. Mark nodded, signaling Carl to be alert, and he walked carefully to the entrance of the cave and shone the flashlight inside. The ice cave was very deep, and the flashlight could not reach the end. All he could see was that the cave wall was covered with strange ice crystals, which reflected colorful light under the light. "How is it? What did you find?" Carl asked anxiously. "It's hard to see clearly, the cave is too deep. Let's go in carefully and take a look." Mark said, putting the flashlight on his waist, pulling out the ice sword, and walked into the ice cave first. Carl followed closely, pulling out the ice pick, and followed Mark into the ice cave. The ice cave was very cold, and the cold air was pressing. Their breath condensed into white mist in the air. The ground was covered with a thin layer of ice crystals, and it made a "crunching" sound when they walked on it. The two walked forward carefully along the passage of the ice cave. The passage was very narrow and could only accommodate one person. The ice walls on both sides were covered with sharp ice edges, and they would be scratched if they were not careful. Mark and Carl did not dare to be careless. They slowed down and used flashlights to carefully illuminate the road conditions ahead to avoid accidents.
"Be careful, the ice here is very slippery." Mark turned back and said to Carl. His voice echoed in the ice cave, seeming a little empty. Carl held the ice pick tightly and nodded, his eyes flashing with determination in the dim light.
The entrance of the ice cave was covered with thick ice and snow, as if it was a secret deliberately hidden by nature. Mark illuminated the front with a flashlight, and the light reflected on the ice wall, forming a series of colorful halos. Under the light, the ice crystals flashed colorful light, like treasures in fairy tales.
"These ice crystals are so beautiful." Mark couldn't help but admire. He reached out and wanted to touch these natural works of art, but Carl stopped him in time.
"Don't touch it, these ice crystals are very fragile. Once broken, it may cause a chain reaction." Carl's voice was filled with a hint of warning. Mark retracted his hand, knowing that Carl was right. In a place like this, any small mistake could lead to disastrous consequences.
They continued to go deeper into the ice cave, and the passage gradually became wider. The ice crystals on the ice wall became larger and larger, with various shapes, some like sharp swords, some like blooming flowers, and some like mysterious totems. Mark and Carl seemed to have walked into an art hall of ice sculptures.
Suddenly, Mark stopped. His flashlight shone on an ice wall, where there was an obvious scratch. The scratch was very deep and did not look like it was formed naturally.
"Look here, this scratch is man-made." Mark's voice was filled with a hint of surprise. Carl came over and looked closely at the scratch.
"Do you think someone has been here?" Carl asked.
"Maybe, it could be an ice abyss beast." Mark replied.
They continued to move forward along the scratch, and there seemed to be a mysterious force in the depths of the ice cave that was attracting them. The passage began to tilt downward, and the ice crystals on the ground became denser. Mark and Carl had to be more careful to avoid slipping.
Suddenly, Mark's foot slipped, and his body lost balance and fell to one side. Carl was quick-witted and grabbed Mark's arm and pulled him back.
"Be careful, the ice here is getting slippery," Carl said.
"Thank you, Carl," Mark said gratefully, his heart beating fast. He knew that if it weren't for Carl, he might have slipped and even injured.
As they continued to move forward, the passage of the ice cave became more tortuous. Mark and Carl had to stop from time to time to illuminate the road ahead with flashlights. Their breath formed a cloud of white mist in the air, and the cold air was pressing, but their hearts were full of enthusiasm for adventure.
Finally, they came to an open space. This is a huge ice cave hall with huge ice cones hanging from the top and icicles of various shapes on the ground. The light of the flashlight reflected on these icicles, forming a series of gorgeous light pillars.
"It's so spectacular here!" Carl exclaimed. His voice echoed in the hall, as if countless voices were responding to him.
Mark was also shocked by the scene in front of him. He knew that such natural wonders were extremely rare.
"Look over there." Carl suddenly pointed to a corner of the hall and said. There was a huge block of ice there, and something seemed to be frozen in the ice.
Mark and Carl walked over and illuminated the ice with a flashlight. Under the light, they saw a shocking sight-a person was frozen in the ice!
"Oh my God, this is..." Mark's voice stopped abruptly, and he was stunned by the scene in front of him.
"This is an ancient human." There was a hint of awe in Mark's voice. He carefully observed the person frozen in the ice. The man was wearing ancient clothes and his face was lifelike, as if he was just asleep.
"How did he get frozen here?" Carl asked.
"I don't know." Mark replied, his heart full of doubts. This discovery was too amazing, and he needed more information to solve the mystery.
They continued to explore the ice cave hall, hoping to find more clues. They found many ancient tools and utensils, all of which were frozen in ice and well preserved.
"These items may be the daily necessities of ancient humans." Mark said. He carefully took out a piece of pottery from the ice and observed it carefully.
"Do you think this was once a place where ancient people lived?" Carl asked.
"It's possible." Mark replied, his heart full of curiosity. The secrets hidden in this ice cave seemed to be far more than they imagined.
"I wonder if there are any clues to record the energy stone in it?"
Rumble
A low rumble suddenly came from the ice cave.
Mark and Carl immediately became alert. They knew what the sound meant - glacier displacement!
"We have to leave here quickly!" Mark shouted. He and Carl immediately started running towards the exit of the ice cave.
However, just as they were about to reach the exit, a huge crack suddenly appeared in front of them. The crack expanded rapidly, cutting off their path.
"What should we do?" Carl asked anxiously.
"We have to find another way out." Mark replied. Although he was anxious in his heart, his mind was unusually clear. He knew that at this time, calmness was the most important thing.
They began to look for other passages in the ice cave. Time was running out, the displacement of the glacier became more and more violent, the icicles and cones in the ice cave began to fall, and the entire ice cave seemed to collapse at any time.
Finally, they found a narrow passage. This passage was very narrow and could only accommodate one person. Mark and Carl had to move sideways, little by little.
The passage was very long, and they didn't know where it led to. But they had no choice but to move forward. Their hearts were full of fear, but their steps were extremely firm.
Just as they were about to reach the end of the passage, a dazzling light suddenly appeared in front of them. Mark and Carl couldn't help but squint their eyes. They didn't know what this light meant, but their hearts were full of hope.
"We're out!" Carl shouted excitedly. They finally walked out of the ice cave and returned to the ice field.
However, when they saw the scene in front of them, their hearts sank. The entire ice field was shaking, the glacier was collapsing, and it was a doomsday scene.
"We have to get out of here quickly!" Mark shouted. He and Carl began to run wildly on the ice field, trying to escape the disaster.
Just as they were about to reach safety, a huge ice wave suddenly hit them. Mark and Carl held each other tightly, ready to face this life-and-death test.
Boom!
The ice wave swallowed them up, and the whole world disappeared before their eyes.
