Bailey
It's been two days since I arrived at Trinity and it's the first day of classes and I'm late. This morning was a disaster, Liliana as I've come to realize is her name spent a while in the bathroom getting ready and when she was done, Tyler used the bathroom after. I'm out of breath when I reach my class and I try catching my breath before walking in, freezing when I realize everyone is already seated and the professor started the lecture.
Everyone glance at me and the professor says "Late on the first day? Savage."
My eyes dart to him and I have to stop my jaw from dropping at how absolutely handsome he is. Jaw line sharp enough to cut glass, brown eyes that stare into my soul and his black hair is perfectly trimmed. I realize I'm staring at him when I hear the students giggling and I shake my head before clearing my throat "My apologies, I had to wait until my roommates were done using the bathroom before I could use it"
He hums "Alright, don't let it happen again." I nod and move to take a seat in the middle of the class but pause when he says "Have a seat in front."
I let out a quiet huff before taking the only seat available in the front row by the window and I take out my notebook as I listen to him continue speaking "For those who missed my introduction, I'm Mr Matthews and I'll be your professor for the year." I don't have to look at him but I have a stinking feeling that he was looking at me when he said that "Okay so back to what I was saying, your magic lays within your emotions that you feel and display"
For the next hour I sit in my seat as I take notes while also forcing myself to stare at Mr Matthews face and not his muscular built body. When the class ends, my relief is evident as I start packing away my things and I make my way past his desk and hear him say "6 am"
I pause and glance at him to find his eyes on me "Excuse me?"
"My class starts at 10 am and if you don't want to be late, then you should wake up at 6 am and shower by 8." He leans back in his chair and crosses his arms over his chest "That way you'll have time for yourself before my class while also not running late"
I blink about a thousand times at the advice I didn't ask for but I'm a decent person so I say "Thank you, Mr Matthews I'll be sure to do that tomorrow"
"Good, you can leave now"
"Right.See you tomorrow"
I give him one last glance before making my way out. I reach the cafeteria and dish me a plate of food before looking around for a place to seat. My eyes land on Tyler who's sitting with a bunch of guys and I would have to guess that their table are probably making the most noise judging by how loud they're laughing. I spot Marcus sitting with a girl and I frown in confusion and interest.
He already got a girlfriend?
I take one last look around the cafeteria before just deciding to go eat outside, the weather is rather nice. When I reach the back of the building, I see Liliana sitting on a blanket in the sun as she eats her food and I hesitate for a moment before making my way over to her "Hey"
She glances at me with a questioning look "Hi"
"Do you mind if I sit with you?"
"Oh, no I don't mind. Have a seat"
I give her a small smile before taking a seat on the blanket and we eat our food in silence for a while before I say "I didn't know vampires could sunbathe"
She raises her finger to show off a ring "All thanks to this baby, if I didn't have it on then I would've been ashes already"
"I see" I frown "How old are you exactly?"
She raises an eyebrow "Didn't anybody tell you it's rather rude to ask a vampire their age?"
My cheeks flush red with embarrassment "Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you or anything"
She shakes her head "It's all good. I'm 200 years old."
"Well, you don't look a day over 20" The words are out of my mouth before I can stop it
She laughs "Thank you, darling. You look rather radiant yourself"
I smile "Thank you" we continue eating and I can't but ask "What do you think Marcus and Tyler are?"
She tilts her head "Marcus is definitely a vampire, I saw his fangs when he bit an apple this morning and judging by the way Tyler's eye colour change every 5 seconds, I'm going to assume he's a werewolf"
"Oh." I don't know how to feel knowing that I'm sharing a dorm with three people who could kill me in an instant and I won't be able to do a thing about it, because I can barely do a spell without lighting my own hair on fire.
We both glance to a boy who's making his way over to us "Ladies. My friends and I are having a welcoming party tomorrow night, you guys should come"
Before I can decline, Liliana asks "Where's it going to be? I thought we couldn't have parties on campus?"
He leans closer to whisper "It's in the woods, you'll have to exit the barrier unnoticed though"
My eyes widen and I glance at Liliana to see a smirk on her face "We'll be there"
The boy smirks "See you" and he walks away again
"We most certain will not be there" I tell her the moment he is out of earshot
She raises an eyebrow "Come on, it'll be fun. Sneaking out and in the woods? It'll definitely be a blast"
"Need I remind you that the barrier prevents us from leaving campus?"
She rolls her eyes "The lecturers can leave without any issue because they have a necklace that prevents them from getting detected"
"Are you planning to steal a professor's necklace?" I ask in outrage
She raises her hands in mock surrender "I would refer to it as borrowing, because I'll return it when I get back from the party. And besides that's the safest option, the other students are probably drinking a bunch of potions made by the witches and I don't know about you but I'm rather picky about what I put in my body"
I frowns "Okay fine, I'll see if I can snatch the stupid necklace tomorrow"
She grins "There we go"
