Leaving Ella's room, Eric went over to Emily's again. This time, he didn't hear any more crying. Knocking on the door, he waited until he heard their response before going in. "Emily, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to dismiss you or anything, but you accused your sister without proof, and I was only trying to... I am sorry if I hurt your feelings."
"I wasn't accusing her, but there was no one else here who would have done that to me aside from her." Emily insisted. If she stood her ground, then her father would have no choice but to become suspicious.
"You cannot be certain without evidence; besides, your room wasn't locked. And Ella has been resting since her arrival." Eric was having a headache, he wished he had a way to resolve this without hurting anyone.
Emily's face flushed. "But..."
"Ella has no reason to sabotage you. She traveled back home to support your achievement." Eric said firmly.
