Chapter 51 - War

Sebastian

Those three days were pure torture for me. I paced back and forth in the room the moment she passed out. I tried multiple times to wake her but her body was so hot, a sick hot. I gritted my teeth as Azazel was getting increasingly worried. I ripped her clothing off, took her to the bathroom, and set her in the tub as I ran cool water over her. She whimpered and winced as her body steamed from the temperature change. I managed to lower her temperature, but not enough.

I picked her back up, dressing her once she was back on the bed. I cupped her face as panic slowly started to engulf me. I shoved off the bed, heading out to see if I could find anyone or anything to help.

I flew through the foyer as I headed out to the courtyard. I found Troy skinning a boar as Annalise stood there helping.

"Troy!" I surprised him, causing him to drop his knife. He stood up straight and saluted me. "Yes sir?" he asked.

"Troy, Lilith is sick. I need you to head into town and get Cranston, see if he has any knowledge on medical care or anything." I snapped as I dragged my hand through my hair. He quickly rubbed his hands off on a towel and headed out. Annalise shyly approached me.

"Sir, I can help." She bowed. She stood back up. "I can make an herbal blend that'll help."

I didn't answer her, I just grabbed her by her arm, causing her to yelp as I yanked her toward the kitchen. George was standing there cutting up the pieces of boar they already worked on for him. His expression was smiling until his eyes fell on mine. He saw how panicked I was. He set the knife down.

"What's wrong Sebastian?" he saw Annalise next to me. I didn't bother answering him.

"We should have everything you need. I'm on the third floor, second door on the left." I turned quickly heading back to the room. As I approached, my heart felt heavy. I opened the door, then I slowly walked up to her side. The last sentence she spoke hung in my head as I looked down at her. I reached up, my fingers trembling as I brushed her cheek.

"I know... I always knew." I whispered as I found my strength drained from me. I fell to my knees as I buried my face next to hers. I pressed my forehead against hers, the heat emitting from her was unbearable. I stroked her head and inhaled deeply.

"Lilith, please," I begged as I kissed her temple. "I will marry you and give you your happily ever after. Just fight little lamb... Please." I choked out in a whisper.

I stayed by her side as Annalise brought in an herbal drink. I held Lilith up as she forced it into her mouth. She spat and choked as it went down her throat. I held her close, feeling utterly useless. Troy eventually took over for Annalise, using wet towels to keep Lilith cool. I cradled her as Cranston applied medical herbs to her.

"There's an injection I can do; it'll be a mix of our herbs and some magic, but to get the magic required... I need your blood." He glanced at me. Without hesitation, I gave him my arm. Opening his bag he pulled out a syringe, then stuck me with the needle, drawing the vial half full before he removed it.

"It'll take about a day to get ready." He stood, bowing then turning to leave.

I dragged my fingers through her sweat-soaked hair as she mumbled. I stayed in the room, not leaving to eat or work on anything. I barely even slept. I don't know what time it was but Troy opened the door, peeking around the corner.

"Yes. What is it." I flatly said. He stepped in somberly as he placed his hands behind his back.

"Duke William is here with a petition for Duke Spry's release..." He flinched when I shot a cold stare at him. I laid Lilith down on the pillow, stood up, and walked over to Troy. He shrunk as I stood over him. My eyes flared red as my skin started to darken.

"You have five minutes to get him out of that fucking cell and to William." I grabbed him, pulling him to me as steam rolled out of my mouth. "And if you're still on my property with him. I'm going to kill them both." I dropped him as he quickly scrambled to his feet, bolting to the courtyard. I exited the room, looking down at the grand clock in the foyer as I counted.

Before I managed to hit minute four, I heard footsteps running up the stairs. I turned to see Victor who was out of breath.

"H... He's... out... but... William... William." He inhaled as he reached out handing me a paper. I glared at him as I strode by him, shoving him out of the way. I was out front in a blink of an eye; William was fumbling with Spry trying to get him onto his feet. Troy saw me, shrunk down, and moved out of the way.

"Prince Sebastian, I take it you got my note..." William spoke, I did not hear a word he spewed. I was on the man before he even noticed. I grabbed him by his throat and lifted him into the air. He clawed and spat at me as Azazel slowly took over. Troy's eyes widened as Spry tried to cover himself.

"I'm tired of these fucking games! The disrespect, the foolery and the greed you exude is horrendous." I squeezed tighter as wings started to sprout ripping my shirt off. My voice lowered into a demonic tone as Troy ran up to me, pleading.

"Sir! Please stop! You'll start a war!" He tried to touch me; I backhanded him, sending him flying.

"Then... so be it," I growled as I spread my wings, launching myself into the air with Duke Williams. He tried to scream, but his air was being cut off as I flew into the sky. We shot through the clouds as I held him up above me.

"You act like your gods when you're not even worthy of being labeled devils." I hissed as I released the man, he screamed as he dropped straight down. I hung in the air as he fell and started becoming a dot. We tucked our wings close to our body as we dove down, catching up to him. I grabbed him by his ankle, yanking him before we landed on the ground, sending rocks and debris flying. I heard a pop from his leg being ripped out of its socket. I dropped the writhing man who was crying like a child on the floor.

"I didn't read your ridiculous note." I stood up, flexing my arms and wings as I stomped towards the dukes. Spry tripped over himself as he tried to run off. I grabbed the writhing duke by his head as I stared at Melvin Spry. I squeezed, popping his head like a grape. He froze as his face turned sheet white. I dropped William's body as I stalked towards him.

"Run like the rat you are." I hissed as my breath steamed out, the edges of it catching fire as Spry turned and ran.

"S...S... Sir... what have you done?" Troy whispered out as I turned back to normal. I brushed myself off, wiping the blood and brain matter off on what was left of my pants. I turned, facing him with a grin.

"I just started what was inevitable." I dropped my grin as I stormed back inside.

Cranston was waiting outside the room. His eyes widened as he saw me. Victor had the same reaction, turning away as I walked up in my shredded pants that barely covered anything. I opened the door, stepping in and throwing on a new set of clothing as Cranston set up his station.

"She's still going to need at least a day of rest after this is injected." he glanced at me as he flicked the syringe. I sighed, heading over to her side. I slipped next to her as I gave him a nod to begin. He moved her arm, flipping it to face upwards as he stuck her, then injected her. She jolted up, gasping.

"Wh-What the fuck?!" She gasped as she yanked her arm away from Cranston. I wrapped my arm around her. She looked up at me causing my breath to catch in my throat.

"You were out for 3 days little lamb; you spiked a fever. Cranston was just giving you some medicine to help Lilly and you regain some strength." I said softly to her. She gazed down at the bed as she responded.

"No, I'm sorry I should have listened to you and Sebastian." She whispered out. I let a soft chuckle escape my chest as those words slid across my ears.

"About time you admit I was right." I leaned my head on hers as she huffed in defeat. I reached down, wrapping my digits around her jaw and tilting her head up towards mine.

"Don't ever do that again..." I closed my eyes, leaning my forehead on hers. "You scared the crap out of me." I confessed as I pushed my forehead on hers. I felt her brows furrow as I could hear her struggle to speak, her voice sounding dry and hoarse.

I moved my arm from behind her, sliding myself off the bed and heading to get her a glass of water. I tried handing it to her after I poured it but her fingers kept slipping. She cussed as she kept trying. I sighed, putting the glass up to my mouth and taking a big sip. I held the water in my mouth as I turned to her, tilting her head back. I leaned in, and forced her mouth open with mine, letting the water enter.

She swallowed it as she pushed into me, wrapping her tongue around mine as she ran her hands into my hair. I wanted this so badly and for a moment I let my usual desires take over, but stopped. I pushed her away slightly, which sent an ache up through my chest. What absolutely killed me was her whimpering.

"You... need rest little lamb." I stroked her cheek as I brought the glass up to her lips for her to sip on. She pouted, looking at me as everything in me pushed to grab her. I inhaled deeply, turning away from her.
