Chapter 3 - Suspicious Cave

One week later, Masha plans to return to Bartisa village to provide funds to the Village Head. This time, however, she was not accompanied by his father—but with Kato and Manda. The funds that will be given are given gradually since the King approved his daughter's proposal. From the 7th day onwards, Masha monitored the development of damaged infrastructure. There were doubts, but in the end he still dared to take responsibility.

"Are you ready?" asked Kato to prepare for the trip. Kato as a special bodyguard must pay attention to the smallest things.

"Yes. As I said yesterday, we are going through the cave," Masha replied calmly.

The cave in question was on the bridge during his visit last week. She noticed, because she noticed something strange hidden by the bushes and there were also large rocks in the way. Masha wanted to take a closer look at her. She was sure that it was a cave—there it seemed to have a negative presence.

"I can't wait," said Manda happily.

"But be careful. We don't know what's in it," Kato replied.

There may or may not be a connection to the mysterious magic in Bartisa village that the Village Head said, but it is worth being wary of if it is true. Mysterious magic will run rampant with all the worst possible if no one acts.

"Monsters and strange inhabitants are just nuisances," Manda joked, hoping that the creatures would not hinder her presence, even if it seemed impossible.

"Even if it appears, it will be easy to overcome," Masha responded.

"Yes, but it's fun. It is as if we are adventurers being tested. Ah, it reminds me of the academy exam. I really remember that my sister lost my grades!" exclaimed Manda.

"Unlucky to be in the same squad as you, but I don't care about grades."

"Hehe, don't make excuses. Actually, you're just unhappy."

Masha exclaimed. "Don't exaggerate, I never said that," she said calmly serving the lies.

"It's a pleasant nostalgia, but we're back to the goal," Kato urged, he didn't mean the atmosphere, but it would take longer to listen longer.

After a while, they arrived at the bridge in question—bushes and large rocks blocking their view. A sad bridge, and dangerous for road users. Although some funds have been given, Bartisa residents have made a few improvements.

"Is this the bridge?" asked Manda curiously. Even though some of them have been patched, it is still not convincing to last long.

"This bridge is too old to pass. I also doubt the quality of the wood used," said Kato, then went down to the side of the bridge. The river flow seemed harmless.

After being confirmed to be safe, Masha and Manda approached cautiously.

Step by step, Kato unsheathed the bush with his sword. A sharp sound sounded every time it slashed and slowly opened the way. Until finally something gets close—large rocks look very close.

"If this is a cave, why don't the villagers want to say it?" muttered Manda.

"A source of strength, fear or belief in something, makes them ashamed," Masha replied, believing that Bartisa village is lacking in terms of fighting or at least fighting.

"Hn, no wonder I didn't see an arms dealer on the way," said Manda.

"Bartisa has no reason for that. They are busy with their lives by farming."

"It's as if it's just waiting for mercy? These people are too stupid," Manda quipped.

"That's right, it's easy to imagine if the country didn't send soldiers or guards to this village."

Manda sighed long and replied, "This village has always depended. Didn't Father demand harshly?"

"Already. However, there doesn't seem to be any progress at all."

"You should be sarcastic."

Masha didn't answer. She was fixed on Kato who was confused observing the boulder.

"It's hard to push this stone," Kato muttered, holding his chin. "Sorry, Masha-sama, Manda-sama, can you back off a bit?"

Masha casually retreated a few distances, while Manda followed.

Manda noticed and was amazed. "Wow, it looks like Kato wants to destroy the rocks."

Kato drew his sword, then a strange light enveloped him. "It would be useless if this ability was not removed."

Kato raised his sword. The magic following became brighter. The surrounding air became heavy, due to the strain on the energy from the weapon.

"Alright, maybe one slash will be enough," he muttered confidently.

Kato swung his sword. The sound of the bang was so loud, the rock began to crack and slowly crumbled into small stones with a rumbling sound—and there was a space behind the stone, before the dust finally subsided.

Manda fell silent and covered her mouth with her hand, she was amazed at what she saw and believed in Kato with one of her slashes.

Meanwhile, Masha, her eyes focused on the dark space. She had indeed suspected from the beginning that behind the rock was a cave.

"There is only one way we do it, let's enter before the residents see," said Kato, confirming the surrounding situation.

With courage, she stepped inside, followed by Masha who walked leisurely and so did Manda who was carefree.
