Chapter 5 - Puzzle

They stood in front of a large hallway like a giant's mouth, the atmosphere seemed to invite and welcome them to enter. They are ready and do everything in their power if something dangerous happens. The first step inside will take you further than the place, towards something unknown.

Kato, occasionally glanced through the tail of his eyes. He felt strange being in a cave that was getting quieter. "There was no sign of presence."

"All the way since we entered the cave, I haven't found at least one secret door," Manda said, recalling a book she read about the grueling cave.

"Not all caves have doors like you think," Masha responded.

With Kato in front, Masha in the middle, and Manda in the back, they slowly walked down the aisle with echoing steps. Along the way, the walls of the hallway seemed to move out of the corner of the eye—a faint shadow seemed to follow.

"Even surveillance is empty," Kato muttered, not stiffening, he kept moving straight ahead.

"I don't think it's possible to go this smoothly to the end of the hallway," Masha thought.

Kato nodded in agreement. "Hope it's fine, but for each cave has a different disturbance."

After a while, the hallway began to curve slightly to the left.

"All caves have differences. However, this cave is very different, even though I haven't visited much," thought his sister.

"Mysterious. Usually a cave is a place for adventurers to find an rare object."

"Why this cave is kept secret is to go back to what I said earlier."

"Trust? I think it's more than that."

"Your question will find a bright spot after the cave is completed," said Masha, who only had almost the same answer, because the original goal was to uncover mysterious magic.

"Wait," Kato said, his steps stopped, he found something in front of him.

"Wow, the door?" said Manda.

Kato approached and smashed the door.

After they entered, there was nothing in this space. However, there is a roll of paper in the corner of the room.

"Is this a clue?" muttered Kato, after which he opened the reel.

At the beginning, there is a text, 'Choose some of the following challenges to get to Domatio'. They immediately analyze all the important points that have certain difficulties and conveniences.

"Some challenges? So we have to choose more than one."

"Sister is right. It's a gradual test."

"Choosing more than one, means that two challenges are enough, but it is not so easy to get through," explained Kato.

"If in doubt, I would bet on five challenges, and each one got a share," said Manda who was looking forward to it.

"You're confident, it seems easy to you," Masha replied.

Kato nodded. "Okay, among the many choices, don't go wrong."

"The first point. In my opinion, this step makes us have to separate or together on the wrong choice," continued Kato.

What this meant was: they had to find the perfect path between the carvings. On one of them there is the correct key to solve the problem.

"Kind of a maze. Well, it's no wonder one or two is a dead end, and the worst possibility is stuck forever," Manda replied.

The second point. They were asked to compile runes. Stacking it correctly will solve the first challenge.

"It seems that the second way is easier and saves energy," Masha said calmly.

"Umu, that's right. No problem. Then, on the third point," Kato replied, he had no other arguments to argue with.

"The flow of water? Do those who have water magic benefit?" he continued.

"Obviously, we lost here."

Composing using water magic from streams was not their forte. It is the same as a dead end.

Points fourth and fifth. Almost exactly the same, but on a journey they will notice the difference. Not much is explained. Is it like a space or maybe just a more unique cave walkway?

The sixth point is to reorganize. Now it was not a rune, but rather a balance on the crystal stones that were arranged.

Maze. Like the starting point. Must find the right path. The risk here is even more dire. Where the floor moves on its own that is unpredictable, and also toxic gases bother them. The seventh point was missed.

The eighth point they refused. Breakdown of mirrors and deep gaps. Moreover, the speed of reflection is needed. It will likely be under the mirror forever.

Nine: Use magic with the elements you have and customize commands. This is an advantage for them compared to the third point.

Ten: They must step on the tiles according to the pattern, the clues of which can be found on the wall carvings. The wrong step will be repeated.

"Finally, we can overcome it," said Masha, seemingly the final point was not difficult for him.

Kato nodded. "Yes, it's decided."

"Rune puzzles, balance carvings, element pillars, floor patterns and codes. Wow, I don't think it's too bad," said Manda, looking amazed on her face.

"That's right, this is the best option with little risk," Kato replied

"Let's get started!"
