Chapter 1 - So Rude!

Two young women briskly walked inside the crowded airport to their terminal. One among the women was carrying a backpack on her shoulder, a tablet in one hand, and the plane tickets in the other. She was wearing a green t-shirt a black jeans with sneakers.

The other woman was carrying a cute, girlish white backpack on her shoulder with a stuffed pink bunny hanging on one side and a mug of coffee in her hands. She was wearing a pink top, blue jeans, and a pair of cute pink booties.

"Kezla, let's hurry up. At this rate, we will miss our flight." The other woman looked annoyed.

"Then let's miss it, Anne. I don't want to go, if it were not for dad's constant persistence, and my promise to Nana,I would have done my best to avoid this trip to Country E," said the young woman called Kezla, as she sipped on her coffee.

"C'mon, bestie, you know you can't avoid this, so just be fast. Actually, we need to run now."

The other young woman called Anne held Kezla's hand and dragged her along with him as he ran towards the terminal.

At some distance away from them, from the opposite direction, a pair of two men was stepping fast towards the same terminal.

"Boss, slow down. We will be there on time," the man following one handsome man in front of him said, tryng to catch his breath.

The handsome man looked at him and frowned, making the other gulp his protest and follow silently.

He was wearing a stylish business suit, with a white shirt inside it, looking so handsome that it was quite impossible for the people around not to notice such a royal man. He walked briskly, making a way through the crowd garnering curious looks from the males and females that surrounded him.

At some distance, the handsome man in the business suit collided with the young woman called Kezla as they were heading towards the same terminal from opposite directions. The coffee in her hand spilled onto his suit.

The man frowned as he looked at his stained shirt, his irritation clear on his face. He moved his gaze from his shirt to the woman in front of him.

Their eyes meet. A strange energy crackles between them. The man's eyes, previously a mundane brown, begin to shift. A vibrant, almost otherworldly hue starts to emerge, replacing the familiar colour.

The man's eyes settle on a striking shade of gold, filled with an ancient, knowing look.

Because of the sudden collision, she had been rendered confused, too. The man was over six feet, compared to the short woman; she barely reached his chin.

When the man looked at Kezla's face, he froze on the spot and his anger dissipated. Her face looked attractive, even though she was clearly confused.

His sight took a quick glimpse of her face, beautiful deep cat like eyes, baby-soft radiant skin, her rosy pink lips parted away because of shock, and finally, the tiny pointed nose and those furrowed lines on her forehead clearly showed she would burst in anger.

She looked down at the coffee mug in her hand, and her expression turned angrier. Looking back at him she said, "Do you have your eyes at the back of your head?" The man didn't reply and just kept staring at her.

The man standing behind the handsome man spoke up, "Miss, it was not my boss's fault alone, and…" before he could finish, the handsome young man cut him off.

"Let's go. We are getting late, Parker." With that, they strode towards the terminal.

The young woman frowned as she looked at his retreating back. "So rude! Left without an apology."

Turning her sight to look at the spilled coffee mug, she commented in a sad voice, "Rest in peace, my tasty coffee."

Anne took the coffee mug from Kezla's hand, threw it into the trash bin nearby.

"Your eyes are at the back of your head, too Kezla." Smiling, Anne commented and mumbled. "He looks handsome though." Shaking her head, she moved forward while dragging her best friend along with her.

As the two best friends entered the flight, they saw the men from earlier seated inside. Kezla gave them a displeased look and moved her sight in the opposite direction. After checking the seat numbers, the best friends sat in their seats, which was in front of these two men.

The plane finally took off, and after some time it was flying in the air. The air hostess finished with the safety instructions and serves refreshments to passengers. These four were relaxed as they could catch the flight on time.

The flight they booked before had been canceled as there were some technical issues. So, they had to book another flight, but there were no business class seats available and they had to travel in the economy class.

"Kezla, we are finally on a plane. I thought we would definitely miss it." Anne gave out a sigh of relief.

Kezla though was still upset. "It would have been better that way. Why didn't we miss it?" She looked at her friend, "You know that I don't want to go back to Country E."

"Your dad misses you and your grandmother is excited to see you too. So just be happy for once."

"I think dad missing me is just an excuse. Dad must have found someone he wants me to marry since I haven't found my mate yet. And brother is aware of this. Otherwise, what's with the sudden change in attitude?" She still carried the frustrated expression.

"They will not do anything against your will, let alone marriage," Her friend said with concern in her eyes.

Both were unaware that the men sitting behind could hear them.

"Boss, why didn't you say anything to them? It was not our fault. How could she talk to you like that? You shouldn't have stopped me," Assistant Parker said with dissatisfaction.

"Just leave it, Parker." Saying, the man closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat to take rest, hip lips slightly curved upward.

His boss's words confused the assistant, but before he could ask further, the man seemingly fell asleep.

Though his eyes were closed, his full attention was on the two friend's conversation.
