Chapter 7 - I Have Many Mistresses

They ride home in silence.

Adonis hated it because it made her nervous and it gave her time to think about what was waiting for her in her new home. The wedding consummation. She had never even touched a guy before, their father made sure of that, and now she would…

"Your Highness?"

"Yes?"

"Do you have another wife, your Highness?" she asked. Although Adonis knew she shouldn't have. It was none of her business. Her mother had told her to be careful not to ask a King such questions, but she didn't care. She needed to know what was waiting for her once she arrived at Domara.

The Vampire King looked at the human girl with a narrowed gaze. Now he would get angry, she thought.

"No, I don't," he answered slowly. And Adonis felt relieved. But why? Just because he didn't have one now, didn't mean that he wouldn't get one.

"But I have many mistresses," he finished.

Of course, he was attractive, and a prince, and a man. Adonis wanted to curse, but he suddenly laughed.

"You don't seem to like that," he said. Why would she? But she couldn't say that.

"Its not for me to like or dislike, Your Highness," Adonis replied. He said nothing to that. Making the human girl to wonder what his name would be.

"Your Highness?"

"You may call me Yorian when we are alone." Yorian said his face expressionless.

The caravan stopped, and then a guard informed them that they had arrived. Yorian stepped out of the caravan and offered her his hand. Adonis took it, and the vampire King helped her down.

Adonis stepped out of the carriage, her heart pounding in her chest. The Kingdom of Domara was a stark contrast to the vibrant and bustling Grandvest. The streets were quieter, the buildings more austere. A chill wind swept through the air, a stark reminder of the approaching winter.

The palace was a sprawling complex, its walls towering over the surrounding buildings. As they entered the courtyard, Adonis was struck by the eerie silence that hung over the place.

The castle was grand.

As they passed through the garden, the garden was even more luxurious, with green bushes and colorful flowers. A smile curved on her lips; her sister Elara was here; she would love the sight of the greenly garden.

"Yorian?" someone called, and she turned her head to see who. A woman in royal attire approached them.

Then a couple of people came following her behind.

"Welcome to Domara my child," the woman spoke after reaching them. Her face all smiles.

And immediately, Adonis's smart head captured it. the woman seems to be the Queen mother. So, she is his mother.

Lord Bolton who had came specially to check who the human girl that was brought to eliminate the virus is. The lord of Western Domara eyed the human girl from head to toe.

Is she that great as described? Only time will tell.

"We humbly welcome you to the Kingdom of Domara," Lord Bolton said sounding all normal as he smiled at the girl.

The lord of Western Domara said before turning to his nephew, "Welcome back Your Majesty." He bowed dutifully expressing his concern.

"Alright, we will now let the princess to rest." The Queen mother said after the welcoming was done. The girl needs to rest as tasks lied ahead.

The Vampire King held the human girl's hand leading the way.

Two maids appeared in front of them after leaving for their bedchamber. "Your Highness, Milady," they greeted with a bow. "Your Highness, shall we prepare he Highness?" they inquired.

Prepare her for what? Adonis in turmoil. All her life, she is always preparing portions. What she loves doing. At first Yorian didn't let go of her hand, but after the maids gave him a pleading look, he only then released the girl.

Adonis was led to the dressing room, where the maids helped her get out of her wedding dress and slip into a beautiful white nightgown and its matching robe, both made of silk. They took out the pins in her hair and let it fall down in waves. After putting some perfume onto her skin, they served her tea.

"What's this?" she asked.

"Its an herb tea that will help you relax, and it will decrease the pain, Milady."

"What pain?" Adonis was confused, but then she realized what they were talking about.

Also, the made most have seen the horror on her face because there was pity on their own faces. Why did they pity her? Was he going to be rough with her? He didn't seem like the rough type though from the way he held her hand earlier.

So she replied, "I don't need it," the princess affirmed and stood up straight. "Just take me to the chamber." They led her to their private chamber and sat her down on the bed. Adjusting her hair and gown, the maids took one last look at her to see if everything was perfect.

"We will tell His Highness that you are ready," they bowed, and left.

The worst scenarios appeared in Adonis's mind. Her head and heart pounding so hard in her chest that she was afraid it was going to explode. Her hands started sweating and it was getting hard to breathe. The human princess waited for what seemed like hours, but was likely just minutes. Suddenly, the door to the room opened and he stepped inside. He had changed into more comfortable clothes too and walked towards the bed where she was sitting.

"Aren't you tired?" he asked.

"I am Your Highness."

"Yorian," he corrected.

"Yorian," she repeated barely a whisper.

"Then we should go to sleep," he said and lay down on the bed, "I am tired too."

Yorian looked at the woman in front of him. she looked so scared and timid. He wondered if she was scared for the obvious reasons or if she was scared because of the rumors she had that Vampires suck human's blood at night. Either way, he didn't blame her. As all this is true. But definitely doesn't drink human's blood.

He looked at the woman now laying beside him. the woman who was his family now. The human girl was lying so far out on the edge that she could fall down from the bed any moment. She didn't even move; she looked stiff. Even though he told her to sleep, he could still hear her heart beating wildly.

She had surprised him earlier with her bold questions. So, far she amused him. he remembered the look on her face when he told her he had mistresses. She was probably the jealous type.

'I guess I like the jealous' he thought, smiling to himself. He also liked when she played the flute, and when she had whispered his name. but now, she was as timid as a rabbit. That he didn't like.
