King Theodore and the Vampire king were busy conversing when Yorian spot the sight of The Wolf King with Egon his right hand following behind.
"See you at the royal hall." King Theodore said his last and left the two Kings to their business. He never liked The Wolf King. The man's aura was too much. Far beyond anyone's take.
The young king is always showing up full of power and enigma. Its as if the young werewolf has something going on in his mind always. King Theodore says this because the Wolf King is always out to make someone feel guilty for some unknown reasons.
"I would to stay here for a day more," Lykaios muttered immediately the King left them alone. As if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Yorian was starting to have a headache. He should have seen this coming. "What are you up to?" he asked.
"Let's not keep them waiting at the royal hall."
By the time the two reached Grandvest's royal hall, all the guests from other kingdoms were already present. They were the last to arrive.
As it was merely a courtesy call, the atmosphere was relaxed, and everyone was bidding each other well wishes. When it was Lykaios's turn to talk to King Theodore, he stood up in front of the throne and spoke. "I would like to enjoy Grandvest's hosting for a few more days. This is my first visit to your kingdom, and I am yet to fully enjoy the beauty of your Kingdom."
His announcement startled King Theodore, but he controlled himself from showing his curiosity on his face, "It is our honor to host the King of Alvanova and strengthen the friendship between our Kingdoms."
Queen Catrina was surprised too by this twist, but she didn't show how unhappy she was.
On the other hand, despite King Theodore being generous in accepting his request, deep in his heart, he was worried about the situation.
He knew why The Wolf King requested to stay.
After the chaos his daughter caused in the capital market. It was evident that the King of Alvanova must have heard about his daughter and her being a witch. With Adonis not around, King Theodore had to keep a tight watch on this curious young king. He was sure this young man would definitely find ways to get to Elara.
Once the two friends came out of the royal hall, Lykaios asked Yorian. "I need the map of this palace."
"What for?"
"I should know where I am in case there is any threat." The Wolf King simply stated. Not bothering to look at the man.
Yorian chuckled at the excuse. "Who will dare harm you?"
The question was one that has no answer.
Who will want to invite death so eagerly?
"It is not ethical to ask for a map of this palace, especially since it affects the security of the Royal House of Grandvest. Even if I do ask, I have to ask it secretly," Yorian said sighing.
"We are not devotees of ethical ways, and its supposed to be secret, that's why I asked you," said Lykaios as the two came out to an open place outside the main palace. As it was the central region of the palace grounds, the two had a perfect view of the entire Royal Palace of Grandvest.
Lykaios looked around, only to stop his sight on the alley where the Cursed Princess passed. He wondered where she went after passing there. Does the princess stay outside the palace? It was a question that hunt the Wolf King.
Even if the Princess is currently present at the wedding right now, where she resides is what he wants to know.
"I only hope you won't plan anything against Grandvest." The Vampire King said as he wouldn't want anything to go wrong in the human Kingdom that would disrupt the human who was supposed to help in getting a cure for the ongoing pandemic at Domara.
"Rest assured. I have more important things to do," Lykaios replied, his eyes still fixed on that alley.
Whatever those 'important things' meant, Yorian could only shake his head, aware that his friend would not give up until he got what he wanted. All he could do was wish Grandvest good luck.
"What is your plan now that the wedding is over?" Lykaios suddenly asked shifting the conversation to his friend.
Yorian wanted to laugh, the Wolf King was well aware of the reason why he had to marry the human girl but the man is asking otherwise.
Although the Kingdom of Grandvest have no idea what his real intension for marrying their princess is.
"You that is yet to tell me the reason why you chose to stay at Grandvest for more days." the Vampire King said as his friend had told King Theodore he had to stay for a few more days. Although he told him another thing.
"Something interesting caught my eyes."
After the conversation with his friend, Yorian bit his good byes to the Wolf King and went forward to completing the ceremonies to take his bride away.
The human girl should be done with her family by now too. Time was running out for Domara and the Vampire King have none to waste.
The carriage was waiting outside. The Vampire king led the way. As she stepped into the carriage, she glanced back one last time at her mother and sister standing on the balcony. Her mother's cheeks were wet with tears, and Adonis couldn't help but let her own tears fell freely.
She was leaving Grandvest, the only home she had ever known, for a kingdom she knew nothing about. A wave of uncertainty washed over her as she wondered what fate had in store.
"I will miss you too," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the clopping of the horses' hooves. As the carriage pulled away, she clutched the locket containing her family's portrait, a small comfort in the face of the unknown.
