The chariot drove in with a subtle hint of recklessness.
"Stop! Stop right there" The guards on duty immediately stepped in to flag down the chariot that was riding in.
They all released auras at the Foundation Establishment stage at the same time. Even the weakest amongst them was already at the Seventh Level of Foundation Establishment which made them quite a terror for any normal person.
The rider sighed and signalled for Senior Brother Feng to deal with the anomaly. He was only a mortal after all with a cultivation of Fourth Level of Body Tempering. But he could tell intuitively that Senior Brother Feng would be able to handle the situation with ease.
"What do you dogs want?" Senior Brother Feng called out lazily from within the chariot, though he didn't even mope out. It was as though these guards weren't worth a stare from him.
Such arrogance! It was overwhelming for these guards to stomach in.
"We do see that you are quite a figure to come here but you can't just ride in recklessly without a proper security check can't you. This is the Chen clan's territory, even a god must bow to the rules here" the bravest amongst them spoke with solidarity and an emotion of urging.
"Hmph! Security check? More like scouting for tips. What host accommodates their guest with such a front first. If it were any of the great sects, it could have been very understandable. But with just the Chen clan? Ha!" He scoffed, his tone containing a sliver of mockery that caused flames of rage to flicker in the eyes of the guards.
"Insolence! How dare you speak about the Chen clan like that! You are courting death" the bravest guard spoke charismatically, even the tone of his voice was like a sharp sword facing the direction of the chariot.
His words triggered the guards who initially wanted to play it cool.
"Step out of the chariot right now!" The bravest amongst them commanded fiercely attracting the attention of passersby, "The two of you altogether or else…"
"Or else what…" Senior Brother Feng cut in rudely, however, his voice had calmed down but rather than reassuring, he sounded scary this time around.
"Or else what, huh?" Senior Brother Feng scoffed, his eyes shooting off fierce glints from within the chariot.
Before anyone could recall themselves, a thunderous rumble sounded gravely in the sky, crackling with a sense of terror that caused hearts to shiver with fear.
Senior Brother Feng had become quite infuriated by these guards and even though he tried to conceal it, he couldn't hold it in this time around.
These flies actually dared to order him out of the chariots? He really had to do something really fast, show them a quick lesson that would put them in their place. Even Chen Ziyao would have to treat him with courtesy but these guards had no iota of that in them.
A split lightning wave shot from a point of the chariot, through its roof and into the skies.
RUMBLE!
The lightning had moved quickly and though it didn't thunder as loudly as before, it didn't abate the blazing fire of fear in their hearts and soon it had begun attracting the attention of some seniors in the sect.
"Now…KNEEL!" Senior Brother Feng's voice grew icy as he commanded the guards.
Without a hint of resistance, the guards dropped to their knees. Completely awed by the revelation of his power at the Core Formation Level, they didn't need to be reminded to know that they had hit an iron plate.
The best every single one of them could do was curse at themselves for the day's misfortune and pray in their hearts that this stranger would forgive them and spare their lives.
"Good, now this…this is how guards are meant to act. Not parading the place and venting frustration on guests. I would be teaching you a lesson so much even Clan Leader Chen would be grateful to a fault" Senior Brother Feng spoke condescendingly.
Unsurprisingly, his words though hurtful and humiliating to this unruly guards, shot at them and their flaws like poisonous needles, making their faces look like mashed faeces had been spluttered on it.
"Senior Brother…"
Right when Senior Brother Feng was about to step out of the chariot to finally give a proper glance, A'Yin called out to him softly.
"Let's be low-key around here. If you keep on making a great scene, I fear we'll induce Chen Ziyao's wrath too" A'Yin warned with a cautious voice.
"A'Yin. You're worth too much in my eyes compared to that old fart" Senior Brother Feng grew doting again as he whispered these words of assurance in her ears causing A'Yin to blush lightly.
"Don't be extra, okay?" A'Yin reminded once more at the time when Senior Brother Feng stepped out. The latter casually nodded before coming out to observe the troublesome guards.
However, threee steps later,
"Feng Tianyi, what a surprise to meet you here in my Chen clan haha" a voice filled with cheer and brotherly soothing called out to Senior Brother Feng.
The latter tilted his head towards the direction of this voice and his anger cooled off a bit.
"Chen Hu, still as wild and excited as usual. Hmph! Unfortunately, your Chen clan doesn't see me as friends. What a sad thing" Senior Brother Feng, now Feng Tianyi spoke with a harrumph.
"What's going on?" The voice finally revealed itself by landing quietly.
He had white hair, black robes and a saber was strapped to his back. Altogether, he seemed merry and fun to be with. The charming Chen clan bloodline he possessed made him a fatal attraction to all and sundry who saw him especially the females.
This was Chen Hu, the intending next Clan Leader of the Chen clan and Chen Zhiyu's cousin — the former was also Chen Xizi's blood brother.
"Hmm…I see, so some of us are working so hard for a proper misrepresentation of the Chen clan and its principles. Interesting, really interesting"
Chen Hu's tone though sounding calmly and even with a hint of sarcasm, caused these guards to become extremely afraid of what he was up to.
