[Congratulations! You have received the blood system!]
Justin opened his eyes in utter shock. He couldn't believe all that he had just seen. The stone he had carried was a blood stone and apparently, he had been deemed worthy to be its master. He had no idea what the blood system could do or what it even was. The only reason he had accepted it was because he felt he would be the only one not to accept it. He wasn't really bright.
"Whoa! The stone completely disappeared from my hands!" He exclaimed finally coming to.
"I take it that you all experienced something similar to what I experienced ?" Derolo asked, noticing that they were no longer lost in a trance.
"If you mean a weird screen popping up out of nowhere and telling me I received the blood stone.." Justin said
"And it also informing me that the time stone has deemed me worthy to be its master.." Suzie interjected.
"And receiving a mage system, then yes. I think we all experienced that." George ended
"Although, it seems that we all received something different.. I got a blood system." Justin added. "Suzie probably received a time system and George received a mage system. What did you get, Derolo?"
Derolo kept quiet for a while before answering, "I received a shadow system.. but that's not the important thing. The important thing is that we have a system, and we all don't know why or what is the reason for getting it. Most importantly, that black stone .."
"Some creepy shit is going on here."
"That's very obvious to see." George replied, rolling his eyes.
"So, boss? What are we to do now?" Suzie questioned.
Derolo was always a calculative person but this event was more than he could handle so he had nothing to say.
"I think it's best for us to leave for now. It looks like they're done outside."
They all turned to go but they were stopped by Justin's sensible question.
"What do we do about the black stone? It's clear that these dumbasses were trying to use it. I don't think it would be good for us to go without it. What if the bosses come back and discover the final stone here."
"I'm impressed.." George commented.
"What? Why?" Justin inquired, bending to pick the stone which was still in the box.
"For the first time since I've known you, you actually said something that makes sense."
Suzie burst out laughing and a stifle managed to escape from Derolo's mouth which earned a grunt of disapproval from Justin and a smirk of triumph from George.
"I cannot seem to carry it.. it's too heavy!"
Derolo subconsciously placed a finger on his forehead and poked it. This was one of the ways to know he was thinking …"
"Let me see it.." he crouched to the level and as soon as he touched the box, a screen just like earlier popped in front of him.
[The black stone!]
[Error!]
[Error!]
[It rejects you!]
[The cosmos box will not be opened!]
"What the.."
"Why would it reject you?" George was baffled. It was just a stone so why would it reject him? But, the possibility of it being because the stone was actually a gately or a keeper of some sorts. Considering the fact that they had received a system just by touching it, it still felt absurd for anything to reject him.
[The entire group agrees that you are eligible to hold the stone]
"Eh?"
[The black stone shall be kept with you until the right time]
Suddenly the box disappeared into thin air. Although Derolo could feel that he was in possession of something, he had no idea where it was.
"Did it just disappear, like that.." Suzie's eyes were wide open.
"It's stored within me.. I can feel it somehow, although I cant really say where it is, I'm sure its within me." Derolo mumbled.
"One last sweep!" Derolo ordered. "We dont know what we could find in here."
They checked the shed again and although they couldn't find anything that looked as valuable as the stones, they did find a little bit of cash stashed in a bag.
"Now, since I know I'm the youngest here and all of you aren't as broke as me. I call dibs on it!" Justin announced, attempting to take the bag from Suzie.
He felt a hand on his head, an extremely painful hit had landed on his head. He looked up to Suzie who had a triumphant annoying smirk plastered on her face.
"You don't try to steal from your elders, it results in smacks on the head like this." She attempted to hit him but he was able to move away just in time.
"You think I'll let you purposely hit me on the head? You joke old woman!"
"Let's be going..they should be done by now."
They headed out, Derolo walking in the front. Finally getting out of the shed, Derolo stopped walking which caused a chain reaction. They stopped walking as well.
"I don't have to remind you to keep shut about this. I don't want to hear anyone else talking about it." His voice was low as he spoke, and this was all they needed.
As they approached the other gang members, a man ran up to Derolo holding a book in his hands.
"Boss, we have been able to successfully take the serum created, although it was only in little quantity. It appears that some of them have already been transported away. Call it luck or intuition, I do not know what to say. But it was obvious that they had no idea we would be coming."
"I see… well the transported items aren't really any of our business."
"You're right,boss." He replied, bowing.
"What do you have in your hands?"
"Oh, this! While we were trying to search for the serum, I found this book and out of habit, I wanted to read it, although it looks like I might not be able to read since it's written in another language."
Derolo couldn't shake off the feeling he got just from looking at the book. "Can I see it?"
"Of course."
The book looked old with an hardcover, it almost felt like wood. There were drawings on it, almost similar to the cosmos box as the system had called it. He opened the book and although the writing was foreign, he could somehow understand it.
[You are in possession of the Cosmos Book]
[Error!]
[Host isn't eligible to read it!]
[Will you like to store it?]
[Yes/No]
He still wasn't used to the screen suddenly popping up in front of him, and if he wasn't aware of the fact that his men were right there with him, he would have probably screamed.
"What the fuck! So many things that I cannot access."
"Eh?"
"It's nothing… gather everyone, our work here is done. We'll be going back now."
He walked away, his face courting a frown as he blamed himself for forgetting that he was in an awkward and unbelievable situation.
"Suddenly getting a system? Bullshit!"
…
"Feels good to be back!" Suzie exclaimed. "I can finally go back to that movie I was watching."
"You mean the horror and bloodshed you call a movie? Honestly, you terrify me." Justin confessed, subconsciously covering his head.
"What is that?"
A group of people with red hair and red clothes along with their bikes painted red stood outside their base.
Their place looked trashed and smoke could be seen coming out from somewhere inside.
"Red wolves…" George muttered.
"What do the fuckers want?" Derolo questioned, his voice terribly low, sending shivers down the spine of the people close to him.
