Beep! Beep!! Beep!!!
The alarm raised loud it mornings cry to awaken the one who gave it command to do so. With her groggy face, still half asleep, she raised her hand and switched off the alarm clock.
"UHM" she groaned.
"Yawwwwn!!!". She stood up and stretched her body. "Meow!" "Woof!". Her two pets came to give her a morning greeting. She pats their heads and went straight to the bathroom to freshen up for the day.
Finished with the brushing and bathing, she soon turn to put on her makeup. She tied up her brown hair into pony tail and got ready for work. She fed her two pets before leaving for work. "You two be good boys while I'm gone okay, bye!!!".
She drove to the parking lot of her walking place, got down and entered the establishment.
"Good morning Esmeralda!". Her male colleague with shaven beard, black hair and well ironed suit greets her.
"Hi Peter, how was your night". She replied.
"It was splendid to say the least". He answered.
"Wanna have coffee at the shop across the street". Peter asked. "Okay ". Esmeralda answered. They both left their offices and went down to the coffee shop that was adjacent to their walking place. They placed their orders and had to sit for some minutes to get their beverage drinks.
Peter placed his elbow on the table and facepalmed, looking directly at Esmeralda's face.
"Peter, why are you looking at me like that?". She inquired.
"What, can't I admire a beauty that's Infront of me?": Peter replied.
"On with your frivolous flirting again, I see ". She said.
"Girl, we are both singles ". Peter said.
"I am, you? Not so sure ". Esmeralda answered.
"Esmeralda, don't be like this".
"Don't be like what, you do this everyday and not just me, but to every women in the office. If I wanna date someone, it not going to be a philander ". Esmeralda said.
"What! No, you are the only one I have my eyes on, I haven't dated since college. Take, look at my phone contacts, my messages, there are not many women there, Esmeralda please, even if it just once " Peter said with puppy eyes.
Esmeralda looked at him and couldn't take her eyes from that big pleading eyes of his, she sighed and said. "If there's one thing I acknowledge about you, it's your persistence, just this once Peter, just this once, I'll accept, I'll go on a date with you ".
"Really? Yay! Ahem, I mean this is great, I'll text you where and what time to meet you, or better still, I'll come pick you up" Peter said very excited.
Soon, their orders were brought to them and they went back to their offices the day went by with not much of an hassle, it came went just like any other day, stressful and tiring as always.
"I'll see you tonight". Peter said as he said his farewell. Esmeralda got home, refreshed herself, fed her pet and was ready to go on a date with Peter.
*Ding dong!
Her bell rang. Esmeralda opened the door to meet a prince charming who was holding flowers of rose in his hands.
"Whoa, gorgeous and dazzling as ever, miss universe" Peter said.
Peter held her hand and took her to his car and they both rode to a restaurant not too far away from her residence. The restaurant was a bit fancy, with slow smooth music being played at the background, flower petals at the tables and Chandlers hanging gracefully at the ceiling.
It brought out the romantic atmosphere for a romantic occasion. Peter and Esmeralda were led to their table by a waiter. Esmeralda couldn't help but admire the serene atmosphere and vibe the restaurant was giving out, and it seems they weren't the only couple on a date there.
The waiter came and gave them a menu for them to pick meals for their blissful occasion. They placed their orders and began their discussion. Esmeralda seems to enjoy the date as her face was brimming with laughter and sweet smile.
Suddenly, she received a call from her phone. "Peter,a minute please". She said.
"Sure". He replied.
She picked up the call and what she would hear from the caller put her in great shock.
"What!!! My mom hospitalized! What happened... Okay, okay, I'll be on my way, I'm on my way ". Esmeralda became disorganized.
"Peter I'm sorry, but I'll have to call this date off, I promise, I'll make it up with you ". She said as she stood up.
"What happened" Peter asked as he stood up with her.
"It's my mom, her neighbors called me that when she was carrying groceries, she fell down the stairs and fractured her right leg, they said she's in the hospital ". Esmeralda explained.
She took her bag and ready to leave. Peter held her and said: " let me go with you, you don't have to go through this alone ".
"But...". She was saying but Peter interrupted her. "No, Esmeralda, this happened during our date, the least I can do is pay a visit to her". Peter admonished.
"Okay, let's go".
Peter and Esmeralda were driving as fast as they can, however, the sky was no only dark but it was also pouring down rain. The rain was heavy but they did not let that stop them from moving.
They moved through the wide open express to a one way road that pass down through a mountain edge.
*Bang! Crash!
Lightning flashed through the sky and thunder clapped loudly there after, the two moved through the heavy rain and sped a little slow due to the natural phenomena. Peter held Esmeralda's hand to assure her that all is fine, it's going to be okay.
Moving through a sharp corner around the mountain edge, Peter steered but the vehicle did not process his command, the car tire skid across the wet bituminous road, drifting off course.
Peter and Esmeralda became frightened with the turn of event. Peter steered and steered with all his might but the automobile only drifted more. The car drifted away from it course and hit the road guardrails, then it fell down the mountain and exploded to flames.
With foggy eyesight, everything around her was spinning. She saw peter place his head on the steering wheel covered in blood, presumably dead, she too was not far behind. Her eyes were getting dim by each passing moment.
She was bleeding heavily and doesn't have the strength or power to do anything, all she could do is wait to bleed to death. She closed her eyes slowly, fading away. In her unorganized thought and vision, a screen popped up.

Esmeralda could only see this as her last memory before closing her eyes for good.
