Esmeralda walks through the wilderness in her blood drenched clothes, even though it was dried, its smell is still very pervelent, any nearby monsters that gets whiff of it will surely be attracted. So, she made it a goal to search for a water source to wash off the blood.
Moving up to a little distance, she soon see a creek where water flows endlessly. She ran fast towards it, only to stop as she couldn't get rid of the feeling that that creek wasn't some ordinary waterhole. While suspicious about it, she still went ahead to the water source but cautiously.
She took a stone on the floor and threw it towards the creek, but nothing out of the ordinary took place, she took a second stone, threw it again, still the same reaction.
"The system told me that life on this earth is something else, the plants and animals have all mutated into something horrible. Though, I have not any wildlife training nor do I have a sharp instinct, however, I can't get rid of the feeling that that creek is more than the eyes meet...".
"Probably because I've seen some apocalyptic movies, and what we see is not what it always seems to be, I'm sceptic about that water ". She said.
She took a third stone, but this time, a large one, large enough for her to carry with two hands. She groaned, then hurled the large stone on the said spot. This time, there was a reaction, the mouth of the creek moved and a loud shriek followed.
*Shrieeeek!!!
Esmeralda covered her ears as the high pitched sound pierced her eardrums. Soon, the nubbing screech stopped but the source of the sound rose from it slumber and casted a large shadow on Esmeralda's frightened face.
"Oh my!!! I've awoken a monster". She said with her hollow shaped eyes.
[ Congratulations! You have encountered a sub adult mud crab...]
"What is congratulating about this, I'm as good as dead right now ". She said, very tensed up.
Before Esmeralda is a 20 feet monster crab, it carapace was filled with pores where mud seeps in to make an excellent camouflage. It pincers were large, strong and sharp enough to cut to two any squishy thing that finds itself unlucky in-between them. The monster crab shrieks loudly again

Step away from the perimeter and reach of its claws, mud crabs are not known to chase after prey, whether their ambush attack is successful or not, they will return to their hiding place...]
Esmeralda was such in a panic mode that she didn't bother to read the screen displayed in her front, all she could was follow her primal instinct... That is, run!!!
She ran with all her might, but she was nowhere out of the Crab's pincers reach. The crab swiveled its claws at her, to catch the one who woke it from its slumber.
Esmeralda happened to look back, she ducked just seconds before the terrible claws detach her head from her neck. While on the floor, she crawled away from the crab, soon she got out of reach. Still, the crab was swiveling it claws around, with the hope of catching its prey.
Luckily, the crab seems blind and depends on the earths vibration to react, after some minutes when it caught nothing, it went back to its burrow. Esmeralda gasps heavily for air, she just barely survived an attack, she laid flat on the grass meadow and pants heavily. It was then that she saw the hint the system gave her.
"Shouldn't you have given me that sooner rather than congratulating me on encountering a monstrosity, I almost lost my life back there". She said.

"Just how cold can you be... Sigh, is there even a civilization here, with giant monstrosities roaming about, I don't think any human would want to stay on islands such as this ". She said to regain her strength.

"Well, that's enough to get my hopes up". She said. She got up and resumed her trekking.
"Yo system, can you please tell me more about this earth we are, at least that would keep me entertained and lift me off my worries of the dangers of this island ". She said.

[... Alright, humans have roughly divided themselves into 2 groups The Ordinary and The Awakened. The former are people with no abilities whatsoever, so, they are normal citizens that do meager jobs, they are the most populous taking up to 80% of the entire human population.
The awakened on the other hand are humans with abilities, they take on the responsibility of protecting the Ordinaries, the awakened are just 20% of the population, making them highly valuable and sort after...]
[ Before the meteors crashed onto the earth, this island you currently are is not known for it biodiversity; no mammals, few birds, few invertebrates. Because of this, when hazards and pandemonium broke out in the other part of the planet, this island suffered little casualty...
Most monsters here are invertebrates few birds, and majority are aquatic. Though it made movement across the ocean very arduous, it creates some kind of insular protection]
"Though you digressed, telling me this new info, made my hopes rise much higher... If biodiversity affect the rate of monsters that appears in an area, i wonder the kind of state south America, Africa and Asia are in right now". She said.
Moving along the tropical woodlands, an high-pitched alarm resonated in Esmeralda's head, making her hold her ears. The sound was not coming from any monster or such, it came from the system itself.
"System,?! What gives, you wanna make me deaf or what... Uh?". She lashed out but soon freeze, after seeing what the system displayed.

"Uh, what is this,why is the system going crazy!" She said looking at the screen.
[ Warning! Warning!! Titan Coconut Crab in sight, do not move, Warning! Do not move!!!].
Esmeralda's eyes became even more hollow than before, even without the system's warning, she couldn't move, with the overbearing presence of the monstrosity that ravage through the woodland and laid waste at it wake.
"Oh boy, thats one absurdly giant animal, worthy of the name titan".
In front of her is an estimated 70 meters large armored crab, it carapace was deep scarlet red coloration, made of a strong near impenetrable calcified chitin. This walking force of nature makes it way through the woodland, laying waste anything that stands in its way.
It may have been super giant but it still has the gracious steps of a crab; walking sideways with 8 legs. Walking with this monstrosity are numerous crabs, whose size is one that reaches the human waist, they look just like the titan, only smaller and cuter.
While she was petrified with the overwhelming presence of the titanic crab, but she was moved with the smaller ones that follows it.
"Don't tell me that crab is a mother! I didn't know crabs gives parental care for their young". She said.
[ Along with the changes in size, many animals that are in the high grade possess intelligence close to or similar to that of humans, some even surpassed human intelligence]
" Whoa that's going to be one huge pain in the arse, sigh". She heaved a sigh after the monstrosity left but her underlings are still on sight.
She took a step back, a crack was heard. Looking at what she stepped, it was a tree branch, however, she wasn't the only one that got attention from the sound.
One of the little monstrosity turned towards her and began to make it way to her. With it powerful pincers, it attempts to detach Esmeralda's torso from her lower limb.
Ran by instinct, she grabbed one of a destroyed tree branch and thrust it towards the crab's pincers, which it broke with ease. Esmeralda grabbed a second tree branch, this time she thrusts it towards the mouth of the crab.
It is a well known fact that the mouth part of a crab is one of the least protected areas, Esmeralda used this knowledge to her advantage and pierced the mouth of the monster. It shrieks loudly before collapsing.
Esmeralda pants heavily, again, her life was almost gone, she doesn't wish to face this dread anyone. Then she heard
[ Ding! Congratulations, you have killed a juvenile coconut crab] the system popped up to inform her.
That was her first kill, she smiled, she managed to kill a monster with no powers whatsoever, however she cannot do that again, if she attempts to attack any one, the crabs will swarm her.
She waited for the crabs to leave. As time went by, it was evening, Esmeralda stood from where she sat and began continue trekking.
With not too many strides, she soon see smoke up in the horizon. She was elated and ran towards it. Running with a risen hope, she came face to face with a solidified and reinforced wall of 3 meters high, made from metals and stones.
She was very glad and elated, it is obvious that this wall was created by humans. She soon heard a sound in her ear.

Esmeralda looked at the screen Infront of her in amazement, she could see that powers and profession have changed from none to Yet to choose. Soon, the status screen went off and a list of different kinds of power sets were offered to her.
"The party is just getting started ain't it". She had a satisfying smirk on her face.
