*Knock knock
"Alvin, time to go." Mr Patrick knocked on the door and said.
"Ok, Mr Patrick" Hearing Mr Patrick's voice, Alvin opened his eyes, slowly stopping his magic cultivation. Then, he carried his backpack and went out.
Outside Alvin's house stood Mr Patrick who was waiting for him. Usually, Mr. Patrick likes to wear a casual shirt, but today, Mr. Patrick was wearing a rather formal, blue color shirt.
"Alright, let's go" Seeing Alvin was ready to go, Mr Patrick held Alvin's hand and said.
Following Mr Patrick, Alvin headed towards the common hall in the village. They lived in a small village, so after 15 minutes of walking, they reached the common hall.
Alvin was glancing around the hall as he entered. There were 5 other kids in the hall, all of them were accompanied by their parents. Although Alvin was around the same age as them, Alvin wasn't close to them. This was because Alvin spent most of his time working and doing magic cultivation.
"Hi Mr Patrick" They were greeted by the parents and the kid as they entered the hall.
"Hi," Mr Patrick gave them a big smile and walked to the center of the hall.
As they walked towards the center of the hall, Alvin saw a man standing at the center of the hall.
The man was wearing a purple color shirt with a cloud symbol on it. He looked clean, elegant, and confident. Alvin could tell from his appearance that the man was the cloud holder who was going to chair the awakening ceremony.
As Mr Patrick walked near the man, Patrick put on a gentle smile. He wanted to give the man a good impression. In his view, cloud holding was a respectable occupation and had a high status in this world.
"Mr Alex, thank you so much for coming." Mr Patrick said with a smile.
"Let's start," Mr. Alex said with an emotionless voice as if this was a small thing to him.
In contrast to Alex's emotionlessness, all the parents and the kid were nervous and excited about the awakening ceremony.
As for Alvin, he felt relaxed and curious about the ceremony. He put his backpack on the floor and looked at Alex, waiting patiently.
"Sure. They are the 6-year-old kids of our village." Patrick said as he showed the kid to Alex.
Hearing that, Alex glanced at the innocent kids and nodded his head indifferently. He was not surprised that only six kids attended the awakening ceremony. After all, this was a small village.
"I am Alex, a level 26 cloud holder. I came from the Cloud Academy Association. Later I will help you to awaken your cloud form. No need to panic, just follow my instructions." Alex raised his chin a bit when he said that, proud of his identity as a level 26 cloud holder.
"Alright, start from the left. Boy, come here" Alex invited the boy who stood on the left side.
Hearing that, the boy turned around and looked at his parents. After getting permission from his parents, he walked towards Alex.
"Stand still and hold this crystal ball" Alex took out a crystal ball and passed it to the boy.
Seeing the boy take the crystal ball firmly, Alex extended his hand out, holding his fist. In the next seconds, a cloud appeared on his fist. It was a cloud with two suns on it. Instantly, the room temperature increased.
Alvin's eyes lit up when he saw the cloud on Alex's fist. This was such a magical thing. So, this was the cloud that they all talked about.
Then, Alex put his hand on the crystal ball. The crystal ball started to shine with a bright light as if something was coming out from the crystal ball. Alvin moved his gaze to the crystal ball and was attracted by the shimmering light.
The next moment, a cloud appeared from the crystal ball, floating on the boy's hand. It was an almost transparent cloud.
"Level 1 cloud energy" Seeing the almost transparent cloud, Alex shook his head a bit.
"Next test, elemental test." Alex took out 6 gems and put them on the floor, forming a mysterious circle around the boy.
"Now you focus your cloud on the gems. If you have certain elemental talent, the gems will shine."
Upon hearing, the boy nodded his head. He gazed at the cloud with his curious eyes and focused on it.
5 minutes later, nothing happened.
"Elementless. No elemental talent. Next one" Alex said.
The boy sighed. He was sad. His parents tried to comfort him before they left the hall.
Observing the awakening process, Alvin understood how it works. He was curious on what is his cloud energy level and his elemental talent.
The next one was a little girl in a pink color dress. She walked to Alex after the previous boy left. She took the crystal ball and gazed at it, waiting for her awakening process.
As usual, Alex summoned his cloud and activated the crystal ball.
A white light from the crystal ball illuminated the hall. Everyone was gazing at the crystal ball. The next second, a cloud was floating on the girl's hand. It was a much more solid cloud.
"Level 2 cloud energy," Alex said with an indifferent voice.
Then Alex proceeded with the elemental test. Unlike the previous boy, this time, a red gem was shining bright.
"Fire element," Alex said, frowning. Even though this girl has an elemental potential in her cloud, her cloud energy was too low, only level 2. The cloud academy considered this as no talent. The entry requirement for cloud academy was level 4 cloud energy.
"Next." Shaking his head a bit, Alex said.
Soon, it was Alvin's turn. All the other kids either didn't have the elemental potential or didn't have enough cloud energy.
Well, although the other kid didn't have enough talent to become a cloud holder. This awakening process would improve their body stamina.
"Alvin, come, your turn." Mr Patrick said. He was hoping Alvin could be the one who became a cloud holder. It has been three years since no one become a cloud holder in this village.
