On the stage.
Mr Christopher was waiting patiently with a smile.
Seeing all the students settled down and be quiet, Mr Christopher continued
"Today is the first day of your school. You will undergo a sorting ceremony to decide your cloud cultivation class. In the next 6 years, you will be taught by the respective cultivation class teacher" Mr Christopher was straight to the point and announced. He said with an excited tone, indeed, this was one of the important ceremonies for a cloud holder.
"Let me introduce the teacher, the first teacher, Mr John. He specialized in knight direction. Mr John will teach you how to fully utilize your cloud as a knight." Mr Christopher gestured at Mr John who was sitting below the stage.
Upon hearing, Alvin saw that Mr John stood up and waved at the students. He was a middle-aged man, full of muscle, wearing a teacher uniform with sharp eyes. He gave Alvin a cold and strong impression.
"Second teacher, Ms Lily. Ms Lily specialized in mage direction. She will be teaching you how to cast a long-distance cloud spell." Mr Christopher gestured at Ms Lily.
Ms Lily stood up and said hi to the students, giving everyone a warm smile.
"Third teacher, Mr. Bryan. He specialized in support direction. He will be teaching you how to use your cloud for healing, using special effects, and adding buff" Mr Christopher said.
Alvin saw that Mr Bryan stood up and said hi. He was a fat middle-aged man, with a gentle smile. Alvin found him friendly.
"The fourth teacher is the librarian, Mr Elias. He specialized in general knowledge such as potion, gems, flora and fauna." Mr Christopher gestured at a man sitting below the stage.
Mr Elias stood up, tilted his head, and gave a nod to the student. From his look, Alvin could tell that he was around 30-something. On top of that, Alvin felt that Mr Elias was very...free and easy, as if didn't care much about the ceremony.
Alvin knew that every teacher would have their performance review based on their students' results. Usually, the teacher would try to get more students. Yet it seemed like Mr Elias didn't care about that at all.
"All right, they are the teachers. So, now, let's start the sorting ceremony." Mr Christopher said as he took out a box from his pocket.
Mr Christopher opened the box and took out the silver ring inside.
"This is the Potential Ring. Usually, Cloud Academy used it to sort people into different class based on their potential and personalities." Mr Christopher said as he showed the Potential Ring to the students.
"We will use this Potential Ring to do the sorting ceremony. Ok, the first one, Charles." Mr Christopher said. He called Charles onto the stage as he looked through the name list.
Hearing that, Charles raised his head and looked at Mr Christopher, a bit blurred on what to do.
After a short pause, Charles nodded and went up the stage. He was a bit lost as he was the first one to undergo this sorting process.
"Charles, grab the ring and summon your cloud," Mr Christopher said with an encouraging tone.
Holding the potential ring, Charles summoned his cloud.
*blinkkk
His cloud appeared on his hand.
"Holy." Charles's eyes widened with shock when he saw his cloud. Usually, the cloud was just a cloud, but this time, there was a face on the cloud.
"Hey, Charles, no worries. It will be quick. You can call me Mr Pot" Just as Charles wanted to retract back his cloud, the face on the cloud started to talk.
Charles was stunned for a moment.
Alvin was surprised when he saw the scene. This was such a magical world. This intrigued him to want to know more about the cloud. Is that a living thing? A soul? Interesting.
"Alright Charles, let's start" the face said as he closed his eyes, shimmering in a white light.
After a few moments, the white light turned dim. Mr Pot nodded his head and opened his eyes.
"Mage direction" Mr Pot announced.
"Yes." Charles's gaze was filled with excitement. He always wanted to be a mage. He wanted to be involved in fight but didn't want to be at the front line as he felt that was dangerous. So, a mage class was what he always wanted.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Pot. Next one." Mr Christopher said as he heard the result.
The next one was a girl. She went up the stage and held the potential ring on her hand.
A white light illuminated the hall and her cloud appeared on her hand.
As expected, the Mr Pot's face appeared on her cloud. Of course, being the second person who undergoes the sorting process, the little girl wasn't shock by Mr Pot. She was smiling.
"Hello, little girl. Let's start the process." Mr Pot said as he closed his eyes. Mr Pot nodded his head few times as if he was understanding about the cloud's potential.
Alvin was observing the process under the stage. It seemed like Mr Pot could detect the potential of a person in a certain class. At the same time, he was musing about what he wanted his class to be. A knight? A mage? A support? Yet, he wasn't so sure of what class was suitable for his elementless cloud.
"What is my potential class?" the little girl wasn't afraid of Mr Pot, she was eagerly asking about her potential class.
"Your potential class is support class." Mr Pot opened his eyes and said.
Upon hearing, the little girl grinned. It looked like she was satisfied with her potential class.
"Alright, next one." Mr Christopher said as the little girl went down the stage.
After waiting for an hour, Alvin heard Mr Christopher calling his name.
"Next one, Alvin" Mr Christopher looked at the name list and said.
Hearing that, Alvin raised his head and looked at Mr Christopher. Then. he walked up the stage at a steady pace.
