"Now come on, dear, eat your meal," Rolan commanded as he walked into the room, going close to Ivy.
When he had reached her, he dropped the plate of food, looking into her eyes.
Ivy stared back at him, her eyes trying to comprehend what he was going to do. Rolan ignored her, getting close to her, and Ivy closed her eyes in apprehension of what he might do.
Rolan laughed lightly from the corner of his eyes, watching her reaction. He leaned in, and they were very close. Since Rose's eyes were closed, she didn't see his expression.
Slowly, in the darkness and with her eyes closed, Rose felt her hand getting loose, and slowly, her eyes met his own.
He had freed her.
"Come on, eat," he said, repeating himself, walking to fetch the plate of food.
"I don't want you dying on me when I had just found you," he added, placing the plate on her thigh. The food was on a tray so it wouldn't burn her thigh.
Rose gritted her teeth, staring at the plate of food on her thigh. "I'm not eating, take it away." As she said this, she looked up at him, her eyes showing rebellious energy.
All she wanted was to go find her son, Tobi. Tobi must be crying by now because he hadn't seen her.
What does this man want? Wasn't her sister enough for him?
Was it until her fate of getting killed because of his negligence was going to come back to her?
"Eat, don't starve yourself. And come on, don't look at me with such eyes," Rolan dismissed, not minding her words.
Only a shady thought lingered in his mind. If she refused to eat again, he would do something she might not like. He would feed her in a way that she wouldn't open her mouth to say no to her meals again.
"No, thanks. I'm not hungry. I said I won't eat," Rose shook her head with defiance, closing her eyes, not wanting to look at the food and Rolan before her.
She wouldn't eat. Her mission was to starve herself until he saw that she was very determined not to stay here.
And besides, he was illegally keeping her here. She wondered what the corps would do if they found out that he had kidnapped her.
No, they would leave her and stand on his side because he is the alpha, and he holds more power.
Rose felt like she was hopeless.
"Don't test my patience, Rose!" Rolan growled, holding her chin, and her eyes met his. Rose poked her tongue out as a provocation.
Rolan closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he saw her action.
"Don't try to be funny and eat your food."
Rolan sat on the chair nearby, expecting Rose to obey this time, but to his surprise, she looked him dead in the eye, opening her mouth and muttering, "No."
Rolan's patience finally snapped. Getting up from his seat, he said, "I told you, you will regret this."
Rose's eyes widened hearing his words. Before she could react, she found Rolan taking the food in his mouth, locking his lips with hers.
Her hands trembled as he performed that action. Her body heated up like it wasn't her own.
Everything went blank for her.
Rolan—why was he doing this when he didn't care for her? Why was he hurting her?
Why had he done something so intimate with her?
Rose used her hands, hitting his chest, trying to push him away, but Rolan held her wrists in a powerful hold, restricting her.
Rose's body went weak, and she couldn't do anything as tears streamed down her face.
Rolan separated their lips, staring at her as she was crying.
"Why are you crying, Rose? Do you hate me that much... what have I done to you?" he asked, wiping her tears from the corner of her eyes with his thumb.
Rose's shoulders trembled, looking down. "No, Rolan, you have done nothing to me... I just want to stay away from you."
She couldn't tell him that she had died before in the past because of him and her sister.
That he had stood in her sister's comfort, ignoring her when she needed help—wanted help.
Any entanglement with him, she wanted to break it. She had been away from him for three years, and it should stay that way.
She and Tobi were doing fine without him.
"Woman, you can't just make a decision like that when you are already a part of my life. Do you hear me? You can't just do that!"
Rolan held her face, rubbing her cheeks in sudden fury.
He couldn't understand his own storm of emotions, but Rose's words were getting him furious and upset.
She had married him for her own reasons, and she herself had left him for her own reasons too.
He had had enough of her making the decisions in their relationship. She decided to marry him, then she decided to leave him.
No, he had had enough of it. This time, he would be the one making the decision.
"Now come on, mate. Eat your food. Don't test me unless you want me to do what I just did to you... you can even make a request yourself if you liked it," he grinned, rubbing her head as if it wasn't a threat he was giving.
Rose scowled, shifting her hair from his hands. He should stop acting intimate like they were very close.
"I'll eat the food, and of course, I don't like what you did to me..." she grinned, taking the plate of food on her thigh. "It was disgusting, by the way," she added with a beautiful smile that she knew might have got him excited with unwelcoming emotions.
Rolan frowned, stopping himself from getting angry. He only clenched his fists, muttering under his breath, then found a seat and sat on it. Inside his head, he chanted:
Calm down. Calm down.
He shouldn't be upset since she was eating, and he shouldn't do anything to her... but he would have loved the chance of seeing her misbehave.
Since when was Rose so interesting? he muttered secretly in his heart.

"Darius, did you say that Mummy is in here?" Tobi asked Darius, looking at the tall white mansion in front of him. He had shifted back into his human form, taking a deep breath because he had been running for quite a while, so his small heart was racing.
"Yes, she's here. I smelled her scent," Darius' voice answered.
He was sure that their mother was here. His wolf senses were very keen.
He couldn't be mistaken.
"Alright then, if Mummy is here, we better go look for her," Tobi looked at the mansion, nodding his head. He was about to take his short legs to walk through the bars of the gate, but Darius' voice stopped him.
"Brother, don't be foolish. There are guards at the mansion, and Crown wolves for that matter. We need to be sneaky, and besides, you can't just walk there in human form."
"Oh, I get it, Darius." Tobi scratched his small head, thinking that he had almost messed up.
Wasting not much time, he allowed Darius to take over, blue light shining on his body, and then a small, tiny wolf appeared.
Tobi bolted into the bars of the gates, running into the mansion.
Successfully, he was inside, but the guards were roaming the place.
Tobi took a deep breath, deciding to wait till the guards had left before going out. Darius agreed with him.
"Open the gate. Madame is here," Tobi heard the voices from his hiding place.
Using his small head, he peeked at the car entering the mansion.
A beautiful lady walked out of the car with golden locks, and for a moment, Tobi thought the woman was his mummy.
But no, his mummy was more beautiful than the lady.
"You over there, come out."
Tobi's small heart panicked as he heard the lady calling, like she was talking to him.
Tobi stayed put, refusing to show himself.
Jennifer got out of the car, walking to the place where she thought she had seen a rogue wolf cub.
Jennifer sneered coldly when she found the wolf cub, and it was still hiding as if she hadn't seen it.
Jennifer used her heels, hitting the small wolf, sending it flying on its back, bouncing on the next wall, and then rolling to the floor.
Tobi whimpered in a small baby voice, and tears came from his eyes.
