Chapter 38 - CHAPTER 38

After Kaius revealed both his disguised identity and his real identity, the Reverse-Flash was momentarily thrown into an aggressive state.

Anyone who wears a mask keeps their true identity secret. Once their real identity is known to their opponents, their situation becomes extremely dangerous.

By casually revealing Reverse-Flash's two identities, Kaius immediately raised the threat level in the other party's mind to its maximum.

"How do you know who I am? Who are you?"

The last words were almost screamed by Reverse-Flash. He approached Kaius step by step and then said nothing as he began moving around Kaius at high speed.

From the perspective of ordinary people, the sparks, lightning, and blurry images surrounding Reverse-Flash at high speeds would be truly terrifying.

But in Kaius's eyes, with his superhuman speed and perception, he could easily keep up with Reverse-Flash's movements.

So from his point of view, it looked like a middle-aged man in yellow tights running around him, humming and moving in circles.

"Let's make it more interesting!" Kaius said, slapping his hands together.

As Kaius began to strike, Reverse-Flash sneered. In his mind, Kaius's movement was as slow as a snail. He figured it would take centuries for Kaius to land a hit.

But in the first thousandth of a second, Reverse-Flash was still considering how best to deal with Kaius—whether to kill him directly and throw his body into the sea to feed the fish or tie him up for research to understand how this mysterious man could fly.

However, in the next moment, within the still world created by Reverse-Flash, he noticed something strange: Kaius's eyes were focused in the direction of his movement.

The so-called "still world" is a phenomenon that occurs when a speedster moves at superhuman speeds. In this world, everything around them appears to be stationary, though it's not truly static. The world simply can't keep up with the speed of the speedster. For the speedster, everything around them seems frozen.

But within Reverse-Flash's still world, the only thing moving was Kaius's eyes, which stayed locked on Reverse-Flash's upper body as he moved around.

"How could this be? How could you see me?" Reverse-Flash thought, incredulous. After all, he knew all the fastest people in the world but had never encountered someone like Kaius.

"I can not only see you, I can also slap you!" Kaius shouted.

Taking advantage of Reverse-Flash's momentary distraction, Kaius's slap landed with deadly precision.

Smack!

An overwhelming force was released from Kaius's hand, and the still world instantly ended. Reverse-Flash was sent spinning 2,880 degrees by the slap, his body rolling along the road like a spinning top, traveling a great distance.

He finally came to a stop, lying on the ground, covering his face, and spitting out blood, his mouth full of teeth. He looked utterly miserable.

In terms of pure speed, Kaius would certainly be no match for the speedster, but his slap was unexpected—and devastating.

"I'm sorry, that was a bit too hard," Kaius said, floating gently toward Reverse-Flash.

Poor Reverse-Flash, seeing Kaius approach, crawled backward in fear, gasping for breath as he mumbled with air escaping from his mouth, "Why... why are you like this... a monster?"

Kaius hovered in the air, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "If I kill you now, I could save Barry a lot of trouble. But then, Barry might never become the Flash... and that could take many years."

When Reverse-Flash heard this sentence, his heart almost jumped to his throat. But within this brief moment, there was a tremendous amount of information hidden.

First, from Reverse-Flash's perspective, Kaius knew his identity. It seemed as though everything had been predicted by the person in front of him. So, the smart Reverse-Flash—or Eobard Thawn, as he was also known—began to infer a reasonable explanation for all of this.

"You, like me, are from the future, right? Everything you know, you know because it's already happened. So you know everything!" Reverse-Flash seemed to have solved the mystery, staring directly at Kaius and asking.

It's always easiest to deal with smart people. You don't need to explain too much— they'll give you the perfect explanation themselves.

Although Kaius wasn't from the future, but from another universe, what did it matter? He could still scare Reverse-Flash regardless.

"You can think of it that way, Eobard Thawn. Just remember two things. First, I won't interfere with your plan to create the Flash, but if you dare hurt Barry Allen, I'll crush your bones piece by piece."

Reverse-Flash sighed. "You know I need his speed to help me travel back to my time. So, I won't hurt him. In fact, I'll do my best to protect him. Heh... It's ironic to protect my worst enemy!"

"It's good that you understand," Kaius said. "The second thing is that the yellow ring you wear must be some kind of future technology that stores uniforms. Give me a few, not many—just five or six."

Kaius didn't want to wear tights under his jacket every day. It was uncomfortable, and he didn't know how Superman managed it.

When Reverse-Flash heard the second request, he glanced at the ring on his hand. "Actually, this is not a storage ring. Since you're also from the future, you should know about the Atom. He can change size at will, and this ring is based on his principle. It reduces the size of my suit."

"Now, the Atom—Ray Palmer—hasn't developed this technology yet, so if you're lying, stop wasting my time and just tell me: Can you get it for me or not?" Kaius asked impatiently.

"Yes, but I'll need a little time," Reverse-Flash agreed.

Kaius wasn't sure whether the other party would try to pull a trick. Based on Reverse-Flash's character, he definitely would. But Kaius politely reminded him, "Eobard Thawn, you're a smart person. So, you better not try to play tricks on me, or I'll kill you without hesitation."

Reverse-Flash's eyes flickered, and his lips trembled as he replied, "I understand."

"Get out of here!" Kaius sighed in frustration.

Reverse-Flash, looking as if he had been pardoned, immediately activated his speed and vanished in an instant.

Though Reverse-Flash's speed recovery was incredibly strong, it seemed that his super recovery ability only worked when he was wearing the yellow suit. His lost teeth wouldn't be growing back.

Kaius thought about how, later that night, Reverse-Flash would still be using Harrison Wells' identity during a news interview. The idea was so absurd that he couldn't bear to imagine it!
