"Guard?!" Celine wanted to shout out in question at the job she had been assigned but held her tongue in this formal meeting. "I see," Nicholas had muttered and the meeting began. Celine hadn't paid it much attention and silently watched the clock to count the minutes passing.
The meeting ended and the man left while Alina neatly stacked a new handful of papers for her to work on. "Alright, unless you want more work, shoo now," Alina hand gestured playfully as if she was swatting a fly.
Celine chuckled lightly. "I'll be sure to fulfill my duty as the princess's guard well!" She dashed away recklessly. Every guard could only helplessly be on alert as they thought danger was coming but a hyperactive child running through the halls of the castle was the actual reason.
Suddenly, the king, Arthur, appeared in the room and held his wife's hand firmly. "What did you think of her?" He asked.
Alina laughed. "I think she is the exact opposite of our daughter. Celine is energetic and reckless but Aria is reserved and careful," she wiped a tear in laughter. "Perhaps that is why they had come to love each other in their tenth trial. Maybe their differences brought them together." Alina herself wasn't a god but had been told the story by her husband. "I do wonder however, how strong is she? Do you really think it is best for our daughter to potentially love somebody as reckless and dangerous as this? A crazy and persistent god who can't sit still with no political standing?"
Arthur cupped Alina's face. "Trust me, she is stronger than you may think and that is why I consider her an asset to this kingdom. It's not easy to become god and she is one of the few who achieved it. I've known her dozens of times and she has been a great help many times. She appears crazy but there is a thought in her madness. Plus, can't you see how deeply she feels towards our daughter? Maybe our child can finally find some love in her life."
Alina lowered her gaze and leaned onto Arthur. "I just don't want Aria to get into too much trouble," she whispered.
Arthur's expression hardened. "Trouble will find Aria. We can only prepare her and give her strong allies."
Celine was startled when a man with a kingly presence appeared in front of her randomly. "Where are you headed?" He casually asked.
"W-well, I was planning to meet your daughter and ask her to train because I would be a good teacher. I- is that okay?" She apprehensively asked. The last she had met this man he would've killed anyone who had her intentions and he was a fierce warrior. But now he acted indifferently to her instead of how a king should act. Perhaps it was because Celine now held the status of a king but she didn't feel that way.
"No, you yourself need training. Come," he commanded and slowly walked towards an inconsequential area of the hallway. Celine soon found herself inside a training room she knew was exclusively made for the king.
"There are many things to know when becoming a god," he started. "However, the most important rule is to always remember that you are living the present, not your past. You may be in a past time, but so is every other god. Due to the butterfly effect, nothing will ever be the same. It is impossible to use your past knowledge to determine the future because every other god will intervene in some way. You must know this."
This was something Celine understood easily. She may be living in the past but this is her present and it will change in ways she cannot expect. All that it meant was that she had to live this life carefully and not act like she knew the future.
"Secondly, you need to understand what divinity truly is." Arthur held his hand up and the space around him began to tremble. Everywhere in this training room seemed to be in his grasp. "The divine power you received is allows you to manifest yourself. Everything you are and believe in, all of it is power but can only be shown through divinity and that is the power of gods. I wish to protect this kingdom with all that I have. Therefore, my divinity allows me to control everything in this kingdom to an extent."
A godly presence dominated the room as the walls began to move and replace each other as segments broke out. All of this power and pressure came from one man who was using energy only a few could ever see. He appeared unstoppable and immortal in this kingdom where his divine power ruled. "That is a true god," Celine muttered and considered herself nothing in the power that the man moved the room with. "His desire is to protect his kingdom and divine energy just manifests his desires," she thought.
"Thirdly, know that all gods have the same amount of divine power and can never obtain more unless we fool the tower. The only difference between divine strength of gods is how strong their resolve, understanding, and control of it is. I only have the same amount of divine power as you but I am still stronger," he said.
"Then what is a Divine Kingdom?" Celine asked as she had faced one before and didn't know what it really did.
Arthur had a complicated look on his face. "A Divine Kingdom is just a word used for when a god spreads his divinity in a far enough radius evenly. Normally, gods can only spike their divinity forward and it'll collapse eventually while returning to you but having more control over your divinity expands the range and distribution of your power. For example, I, an old god, mastered my divinity enough so that this whole kingdom is considered my Divine Kingdom. Everywhere in this kingdom, my divinity is present but hard to detect, that is the reason why I can control the entire kingdom."
Celine shuddered. If divine power was a gods desire and a Divine Kingdom is a place where a god spread their divinity. Then within that Divine Kingdom a god could enact their desires and would be unstoppable. Truly, it was power worthy of being called godly.
"Okay! How do I 'understand' divinity then?" Celine asked excitingly, daring to become stronger out of excitement. She hadn't wanted to master her godly powers but merely wanted to explore the inhuman part of her.
"That is for you to answer," he shrugged unlike a king. "Remember, divine powers are a manifestation of your desires. The only way to understand your powers is to truly understand what you desire. The stronger you desire, the more powerful you are. Do you know what you desire?" Celine shook her head begrudgingly but sighed. "That's what I thought. Now, let's see how strong you are. Fight me without any divine powers and I'll do the same. Let's see who wins. I'm curious." Arthur had a battle-hungry smile on his face and pulled out a blade from its sheath. Clearly, he hadn't had a good fight recently. Sadly, Celine couldn't help but think she would be reduced to a punching bag for a while.
