Celine incredulously stared at the god in her sight. Cronos was undoubtedly the strongest being she had ever met but she wasn't uncomfortable to fight with her life on the line. What was one more life-threatening scenario to her? Celine was still raring to fight.
"What's your purpose here?" Celine asked, still wanting to avoid risking her life for no reason.
Cronos seemingly had a look of relief on his face. "Good thing you know when to back down. Otherwise, I would've had to kill you and wait for the world to restart again."
"Anyways, I came here to inform you so you can survive as a god. It's something I've done to every other god on their second life so I won't stop now."
Celine semi-lowered her guard and heard the man out. Information was key to survival so Celine wouldn't hesitate when it came to her for free.
"Ahem," he coughed out and began to instruct. "Firstly, I will tell you the general positions of gods and what they bring."
"The Humans on the human continents have most of the gods in the world within their territory even if there are few gods of their race present. This is because that area of the world is where the most battles take place and a lot of the gods are very battle-hungry."
"In the magic continent, Valerians are a peaceful race with little gods that are forced to battle while Elves are always trying to stay ahead of the competition despite having only one god. Dragons are the dominant force with dozens of gods and cause the most battles from the magic continent. Vampires are weak and used as mercenaries because they lack a god."
"In the demon continent, there is only one ruler and that is the Second God. His power even scares me and he has dozens of gods at his command. If we assume that 50% of all gods reside in the human continent, then the other 50% is divided amongst the magic and demon continent evenly."
Celine listened intently but couldn't help and ask something. "Cool, but why would you tell me all this? What is your motive?"
The man looked at her with a completely placid face. "No reason," he calmly said.
That answer made Celine think something was off. Cronos was being nice for no reason and didn't even state a motive so she didn't like whatever was going on. Whatever was happening was eerie, almost creepy.
She slowly treaded away. "Well, if that's it I've got a life to live and it doesn't involve me staying here," she nervously said because the man in front of her could control the entire world if he wanted.
Cronos simply smiled and waved goodbye. It was as if that was all he had planned to say but she knew that wasn't the case. These thoughts caused Celine to turn and run as quickly as possible away from the eerie feeling.
Celine quickly stormed through the castle and even somehow arrived earlier than Aria. Those thoughts couldn't plague her head though as she gasped for air. She had run and flew as fast as she could. With her hands on her knees and lungs crying for air, she hadn't realized that a king had appeared in front of her. She seemed to forget this whole place was his Divine Kingdom.
"What happened," he asked with a steady expression. Clearly, whatever could make Celine this scared out at least a little fear in the almighty king. Celine quickly composed herself and told the story.
She told him about how weird the actions of Cronos was and the unsettling feeling she felt. But the just as she had uttered the name Cronos, Arthur immediately slammed his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes. He had a scared expression, something Celine had never saw before in her two lifetimes.
"Listen. Forget everything about Cronos, even his name. The less you know the better," he pleaded.
Celine was going to say something but was immediately stopped. "Cronos is the first and most powerful god. Do you know what desire he filled his Divine Power with? Control. He doesn't have much physical strength but he is controlling everything and nobody knows what he wants. I don't know what his plan was or whatever he told you and I don't want to know. The more we know of his schemes and interact with his ploys, the more the story goes in his favor. Everybody, every god, anything alive, they all avoid him like the plague. He is the scariest existence alive. He can't use anybody if nobody listens to him. That is what we've universally and silently decided. So don't even think about what he told you."
Celine still couldn't comprehend what was going on. She wanted to know more about Cronos so she asked curiously. "What do the gods do when he tries to manipulate regular people? They can't stop all living beings from interacting with him."
Arthur shot a cold gaze. "Self-destruction. Anytime any regular mortal thinks of the name Cronos or the First God, they self-destruct. It was a method implemented by the human god, Malphus."
"Couldn't that be used as a war tactic though? All it takes is one god to just tell his name and thousands will perish just at that thought," Celine pondered but immediately turned thought of an answer.
"They would rather lose that war then let Cronos begin to manipulate," she mumbled to Arthur who gave an affirmative nod.
Celine shuddered uncontrollably. The power that elderly man held was frightening. His control was so frightening that the whole world had decided to ignore him but that was a form of control in itself. After all, it could be said that he controlled his enemies into leaving him alone.
"Forget everything, that is the only way to calm yourself. He is powerful but only to those who submit to control," Arthur reasoned but a voice suddenly penetrated the hall of the castle they were in.
"What's going on?" Aria asked when she saw Celine panting and shuddering uncontrollably. Celine was a god, so whatever reduced her to this state was surely powerful and Aria was curious.
