While seated, Noah leaned forward and placed his hands on the table. "What can you tell me about yourself?" Olivia grew tense as Noah asked a serious question.
"What do you want to know about me?" Olivia cleared her throat quickly to hide the fact that she was anxious. She hadn't expected to hear this question; what exactly was she supposed to tell him? How could she characterize a non-existent individual?
"Everything," Noah answered. Olivia ended by asking, "Where are you from, what is your educational history, your relationship status, your birthday, and your gender?" Olivia choked after making this statement. After clearing his throat, he let out a chuckle. "I apologize, but I sometimes find it difficult to accept your gender. Quite simply, you exude that aura. Do you enjoy reading about love stories?" It was a random question.
Olivia had grown accustomed to this requirement; some of her employees mistakenly believed she was a man, primarily due to their lack of face-to-face interaction. To compound the problem, there were no available photographs of her on the internet. Despite this, she had no accounts on any social media platforms, and her name appeared only occasionally. Despite being the one who initiated the business, David served as the official representative of Miller Corporation. Therefore, it should not have been surprising that people believed she was a man.
Despite Noah Jones not knowing her identity, the words he spoke had a profound impact. "Not at all." She responded more directly and brutally than she had planned. Instead of questioning her gender, he asked about her preference for romance novels. For her to succeed in her endeavor, she would need to maintain her composure and think logically.
It's a shame, but you will hear much about these cruel and uncaring CEOs and wealthy individuals if you do.
"What about you?" Olivia asked. She was trying to exercise patience, which would pay off for her in the long run. She could only hope for Leah's early return to save her from this agony.
For a moment, Olivia believed that Noah was aware of her presence and attempted to entice her with his charming smile.
Be calm, Olivia. If he had been aware of anything, he would have mentioned it by now. Olivia took a deep breath and bit her lower lip as she listened to the voice playing in her head. Noah had begun his vengeance, and it appeared he was succeeding in his mission today. Negative blows accompanied his positive deeds; each one was so powerful that it felt like a punch to the belly. Olivia needed to outsmart him to survive the next thirty minutes. "I am not a wealthy CEO or a billionaire," she said. With a sigh and a roll of her eyes, she hoped he would buy into her comedic act.
"But you behave as if you are one," Noah said. After dropping her menu, Olivia gazed at Noah with her eyes furrowed in concentration. However, she struggled to find the right words to ask about his motivation, despite her desire to do so. "How you walk, talk, dress, the type of clothes you wear, and your attitude are all aspects that define you." Despite it being the most obvious thing in the world, he said it without much thought. As she nervously looked around, Olivia bowed and hoped no one was looking at or listening to her. "Are you feeling OK?" With apprehension, Noah inquired. There was no way that Olivia could have missed the mockery in his voice or the triumph that was flashing in his eyes.
" He chose his menu and shielded a portion of his face with it, ensuring she couldn't see the expression. However, Olivia possessed a level of intelligence that made the smug grin on his face irrefutable. "If I were to make a recommendation, I recommend that you begin with a romance novel." A sneer etched his face as he cleared his throat. "Except that you would rather we make our romance novel?" He made the statement in a tone that was both humorous and suggestive.
Suddenly, she felt a warm sensation on her face. "Hold on!" Olivia disregarded his previous remark and asked for a waitress while Noah giggled, hidden behind his menu.
Leah approached them while carrying a notebook and a pen in her hand. A toothy grin appeared as she smiled at Olivia and pretended Noah was absent. "Livvy, are you ready to place your order?" She asked. Despite their mutual glances, Noah persisted in perusing the menu. They both rolled their eyes at him and continued chatting. Noah cleared his throat, and they both turned to stare at him.
"Please include some of your samosas in your local special; I haven't had any in a while." Leah smiled slightly under her chin. Research suggests that combining chicken salad with a large glass of wine can aid in recovering from a hangover. As she looked at Noah, she said.
"Your cold demeanor is understandable." Noah made this statement but did not take his gaze off the menu.
Leah looked between them and cleared her throat in a suggestive manner, which earned her a glare from Olivia. "All right, will that be it?" Leah questioned Olivia while closely monitoring Noah behind her. Leah asked Olivia, keeping a close watch on Noah behind her.
"Except the wine, I'll have the same thing." I will be having orange juice. While he was putting his menu down, he said.
"I'll be right up there!" Following her departure, she jotted down Noah's order.
"I was about to hear you tell me about yourself," I said. When Noah told Olivia this, she let out a groan. In any case, he was not going to let this go.
"You should go first," she said with a tense smile, and Noah responded with a broad smile of his own.
If that starts a conversation with you, fine. The man gave her a wink. "On the other hand, you already know that my name is Noah; my full name is Noah Jones, 32. He said this with a look of admiration on his face. I was born and raised here and completed my education here. Therefore, I have lived the entirety of my life here. Both of my siblings are in other countries. Not only am I the wealthiest guy, but I am also an eligible bachelor, have the requisite reputation, and have the essential looks." He winked at Olivia. Whoever is this proud man! Olivia had a thought. "However, I believe I will get married very soon." He smirked. "Now is your turn."
Leah showed up with their dinner as if she had been waiting for it. "Time to eat." With a smile on his face, Noah scowled at her and tightened his jaw in response to Olivia's words.
Leah arranged all the food on the table. "Please give me a call when you are ready to swipe." She then gave him a wink and walked away.
At first, they started eating in silence, which relieved Olivia. To Noah's dismay, however, the outcome of their chat did not impress him. The management of Livvy Williams was going to be more challenging than he had anticipated. Once they had finished their meal, it was time to settle the bill. Noah only paid the bill, and he did not leave a tip for Leah. After that, he left Olivia back at the restaurant.
"You are a better tipper than Noah, as you can see," Leah said while giving a wink. "You won't have to look for me—I live nearby. I will see you later." Then, with a grin on her face, she left. A sigh came out of Olivia's mouth as she stood up and then exited the restaurant alone.
