When Olivia made the observation, she said, "You know if you were not lying, you would look handsome."
"Do you mean to compliment me? Noah responded with a broad grin.
Her eyes rolled as she looked at him and said, "Don't get ahead of yourself, Jones." Olivia said, "Thank you for this; I know you planned it," without making eye contact with him. She was aware that he would notice her lying eyes.
"In fact, this is something that we do every month at the end of the month, but it is not a welcome party but rather an office party. I just made it extra special for you," he continued with a wonderful look on his lips, but Olivia could have sworn she noticed his cheeks turning slightly pink.
"Noah?" In response to Olivia's summons, he turned his head to look at her. Are you blushing?" She had a sneer on her face.
He peered around and murmured, "Thank God, no one is watching us." "What am I supposed to say? He grinned at her and said, "You make me feel things and do things that are not typical."
"Are you expecting me to search for your documents on my face? When Olivia laughed, Noah's eyes opened, and he gave her a strange look. Olivia laughed again. After Olivia noticed that he was staring at her, she quickly reprimanded herself for forgetting about herself.
"Well, that is a wonderful sound. Olivia smiled as she recalled the events that had occurred earlier. "I don't think I should call you Mrs. Friday Blues, Mrs. Jones," he said with a smirk. When Noah said seriously, "You look beautiful when you smile; you should do it more often," Olivia remained silent. "You should smile more often." Noah's voice was not humorous; he seemed serious, and Olivia was aware that he was not making it up to trick her into falling into his trap, which caused her to feel apprehensive.
"I'm sure you say that to every woman you meet," Olivia said with a shake of her head, amazed by the seriousness with which he was speaking.
"Sure, but not really. You are unlike any other woman I have met. It's almost as if I could be myself when I was with you. Noah prodded a little. "You know, I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not," he said. Silence ensued, and both of them glanced at one another. As a result of her familiarity with the experience of pretending to be someone she was not, Olivia came close to believing him.
On the other hand, she could recognize his deception; he was pretending to be someone else to get revenge on her. At that very moment, Olivia concluded that being human meant being hypocritical. While he was running his fingers through her hair, he said, "You look more beautiful when your hair is loose." Even though he didn't know why, he might have done it because he'd wanted to since he saw her but never had the chance.
With her eyes closed, Olivia enjoyed the sensation of his fingertips running through her hair. She could give in to his temptations this once; what would be the consequences of doing so? To gaze at him, she opened her eyes and bit the lower lip of her mouth. After peering at her lips, Noah slowly got up from his chair. He took her hand and assisted her in descending, then placed one arm around her waist and brought her to him. He then carried her to him. While moving her around the reception area, he stroked her hair with the other hand from the beginning.
Olivia sneered, saying, "I had no idea you were a dancer, Mr. Jones." She did not take her eyes off them.
"Mrs. Jones, don't you think that we are all dancers?" The woman shook her head in response to his imitation of her voice. The color of Noah's eyes changed to a dark brown.
She was experiencing a rapid increase in her heart rate; what were they doing? Even though it was wrong, it seemed so right at the time, and perhaps that was the reason why she did not try to push him away. She wondered whether he felt the same way about her, but then she recalled that he did not know who she indeed was. It was a pleasant experience to be in his arms once more. He gently kissed the back of her hand and said, "You are so beautiful; you can have any man at all eating out of your hands." He expressed his admiration for her beauty. Olivia remained silent, closed her eyes, and listened to his fabricated words, allowing him to touch her. He muttered, "Goddess," and then kissed the other hand she was holding.
Olivia responded to the situation with only a proud smirk. It was too late for Noah Jones to realize he would not survive.
Even though she was having a wonderful time, she knew that she needed to end everything because people were watching and talking about her. Already, she could picture her face plastered across the pages of the newspaper for the entire week.
Olivia removed her hand from his grasp, folded both hands, and then gave him a stare that suggested she was accusing him of something. Tell me, Mr. Jones: do you treat all of your assistants like that?" When she inquired, Noah became rigid and turned his gaze to Zara, standing a few steps away. Zara was looking at Noah.
He had a look that Olivia was unable to interpret correctly. Zara appeared next to Olivia a few seconds later, and Noah excused himself from the situation. Because Olivia Miller had struck a chord, Olivia was sure that he would wash his face in the nearest bathroom. Olivia was going to wash her face. She was only curious about the depth.
"So, you are having a wonderful time at the party? After taking Noah's seat, Zara asked the question.
Olivia's face was blank as she responded, "I'm not a party person." She then took a seat.
Zara responded, "Thought as much." She and the other person sat silently.
Who is Jerry, exactly?" Olivia inquired.
She had noticed that James Patterson was absent.
"Who is it? Astonished, Zara inquired about it.
"I met James Patterson earlier," Olivia remarked.
"James Patterson works for the competition, not here." Zara added, with a little twist of the head, "It's a good thing Noah did not see him; he hates his guts." Olivia nodded and stared forward as Zara spoke.
Why is he so fascinated by April? As Olivia posed the question, Zara became rigid.
"What!" Who told you something so ridiculous?" Zara had a nervous giggle and searched around for Noah at the same time. "What gives you the impression that Noah has a negative attitude toward April?"
"Considering that I was not born yesterday?" With a raised eyebrow, Olivia suggested.
Zara let out a sigh before biting her lower lip once more. When she stated, "April traded some important information to our rival company for money, and Noah found out, and ever since then, I guess he just turned off," Olivia immediately understood what she was saying. She firmly believed Noah would have done the same thing without her brother, and she would not have kept April if she had deceived her. She would not have kept April around.
A pleasant silence enveloped them, and everything appeared to proceed as planned until a loud voice broke the air. "Good morning, family!" Abby sang those words as she entered the building in a waltz. Zara was perplexed about where she had been the entire week and why Noah had not tried communicating with her. In a typical scenario, he would go crazy if she skipped work for even a second. It appears he had forgotten about her, and she had the impression that everyone else had forgotten about her as well, but suddenly, the music stopped playing, and everyone looked at her with wide eyes.
Even though Abby was wearing a new outfit, and her blonde hair was wrapped up, Zara was perplexed as to why everything had suddenly become quiet. Considering that her makeup had not changed, Zara was confused about why everything had to halt due to her decision.
She thought this was the case until Elowen approached her and stood beside her chair. She then whispered softly in her ear, "Is Abby?" Zara did not understand why she was saying it until the whispers began to rise. She remained motionless while observing Abby with a gloomy expression on her face. She fell silent in shock.
If Noah found out, he would become quite agitated. Out of nowhere, Noah suddenly appeared and asked aloud, his gaze fixed on his watch, "What exactly is going on here?" as if he had been anticipating it. Once he realized no one was responding to him, he looked up and saw everyone staring at him. After some tension, he strolled over to where Zara and Olivia stood and narrowed his eyes at them. His voice fell off when he saw Abby in the middle of everything. It took him a few seconds to comprehend what was going on, and when he finally did, his body became rigid, and his face lost its color. "Zara, will you tell me what's going on?" he asked.
"Are you missing me, Noah?" Because Noah was staring at her, his throat felt dry, and he did not react to Abby's question, which she asked in a singsong voice. "A party to celebrate my arrival? What a pain! "That is very kind of you, and I am grateful to you for that." She hurried forward and embraced him at the same time. There was no movement whatsoever on Noah's part; he stood there with his hands on his sides. As he looked at Olivia, their eyes met, and a moment of connection occurred between them. There was a complete silence, devoid of any sound. Everyone else, including Olivia, stood there, unable to move because of shock.
She was the one who broke the pause when she remarked, "Well, I guess congratulations are in order, Mr. Jones; you are going to be a father!" Olivia was the one who broke the silence. To the extent that it was even conceivable, Noah became even more rigid, and the quiet became even more audible.
