Chapter 41 - The talk

Olivia and James parted ways as soon as they finished their breakfast together. She insisted on jogging back to her apartment since she was bothered by him and Noah Jones, even though he had volunteered to transport her again to her apartment. Even though James consented, he did not do so without first requesting that she join him and his mother for supper at their home the following day after work. A moment of hesitation passed before Olivia gave her consent, and on top of that, she was certain that her guest, who was in a state of heartbreak, would not be leaving any time soon and could benefit from some space.

By the time she got to the apartment, Leah was already eating cereal while wearing one of April's robes and sitting on the kitchen counter. Her face was no longer stained with tears, even though her eyes were puffy and swollen, and her hair was brushed and braided in a neat manner. She appeared to be in better shape than she had in the past. Even though she was not smiling brightly, she appeared to have a cheerful expression on her face.

It is morning. Without waiting for a response, Olivia expressed his greetings and then proceeded to the restroom. She returned to the sitting room after taking a brief shower, after which she changed into her well-known sweatpants and T-shirt, and then she went back to the room.

Leah was lying on the couch, one leg over the other, staring upstairs when we arrived. The photograph was not very lovely and did not have a ladylike appearance; thank God, there were only the two of them in the apartment setting. With her arms crossed over her chest, Olivia stood in the doorway and shook her head at Leah, expressing her displeasure with what she had just said. Because of a boy, why would a girl of her age be so critical of herself?

Leah raised her voice, acting as if she was aware of her presence behind the couch, and said, "It's so funny, you know?" There was a little gap before she continued. Before Leah spoke again, Olivia was under the impression that she was going to deliver a depressing speech about how hilarious it was that the people you loved the most were the ones who hurt you the most. However, Leah's words clearly demonstrated that she was wrong. "The agony did not arrive, even though I cried and cried and cried throughout the entire night." I kept waiting for it to come. As she spoke, she sat up straight and expressed her excitement. "It's true that my cousin and boyfriend cheated on me, but I'm not completely devastated by the news." And with a pleased expression on her face, she turned to look at Olivia.

A look of bewilderment appeared on her face, and she questioned, "You are not?"

Leah chuckled and thanked Olivia for leaving. "Oh, my goodness, you are so hilarious, of course not! You are aware that when you are experiencing pain on the inside, your heart begins to squeeze, and you simply feel that suffering." She emphasized by squeezing her palm as if she were squeezing a lemon, and then she sighed and nodded in satisfaction after she had finished giving her response. "It's not that I'm heartbroken. Considering that I was aware that he was sleeping around with the girls in my house, I was surprised to find out that he was also sleeping with my own cousin in my own room, on my own bed. That's a serious blow to a girl's self-esteem and self-worth." She expressed this while tightly clenching her fingers.

Olivia responded with a look of disbelief. Did it not make sense for ladies to feel hurt when the love of their lives deceived them? "It was my understanding that he was the love of your life." Leah came out laughing in fits of giggles as Olivia pondered the question out loud.

The question is, "Who is the love of my life?" She voiced the question amid her laughter, tears dripping from the corners of her eyes. "Get out of this place, you girl! How about a hello? What do I know about love? I'm twenty years old and will turn twenty-one in December. Without a doubt, I was only involved with him for the purpose of making money and having pleasure, but it was never love." After she let out a breath, Olivia stared at her in awe and shook her head.

"If I understand you correctly, you are claiming that you went through all that trouble for nothing. If those security officers reported you to the building owner, would he order you out?" When Olivia inquired, Leah laughed it off.

"Since my brother owns that building, I will need to avoid public attention for a few days. I am certain that he has already heard and is currently on his way back from Australia." With a solemn expression, Leah sighed and spun around to face Olivia. "What's up? Do you think it's possible for me to stay here for a few days?" Following her inquiry, Olivia stepped away from the wall and sat down on the armrest of the chair.

She said, "Not at all." She stated in a commanding manner.

"What is it? Get moving! It's only a few days, and since you live alone, I'm sure it can get lonely. In response, Leah leaned closer to her and spoke. "Please, I promise that you won't even notice that I'm going to be here." She whimpered, and Olivia let out a grunt.

"You can't stay here, and don't you have homework and classes to turn in?"

"Ever heard of the term "technology"?" In a condescending manner, Leah inquired, and Olivia gave her a frown.

They seemed to be staring at each other for a considerable amount of time when Olivia let out a moan of irritation and stepped away from the couch. "That's fine! However, it is only for a few days at it."

"Oh, yes!" Leah threw her hands in the air and began bouncing on the couch. After a moment, she sat back down and moaned. Leah then dropped her hands again. It is important to note that there is one issue. Olivia was the focus of her attention while she spoke.

Olivia stood with her arms crossed and asked, "What?"

"April and you are dressed like gobos." While she was making a humorous expression, Olivia lifted an eyebrow in her direction. Leah let out a sigh and stated, "I don't have any clothes to wear, and on top of that, I forgot my laptop and my toiletries in my room."

"It is Aiden's responsibility to retrieve them the following morning before he comes to get me for work." After saying that, Olivia made his way to the kitchen island.

"What is it? Your driver is not going to go through my clothes or touch my underwear under any circumstances." Leah leaped to her feet and made a beeline toward the location where Olivia was standing. "Come on, how come we can't go get my clothes together right now, even though you don't have a driver?"

At long last, Olivia declared, "Fine! While you take a shower, I'll go change my clothes because you smell terrible." Leah was jumping up and down with excitement as she walked to her room. "Get moving because I'm going to change my mind!" After hearing Olivia's yell, Leah swiftly made her way to the restroom nearby.
