Chapter 34 - Lunchtime

After a considerable amount of time, Leah did nothing but stand there and stare at Olivia. The news stunned her. What were the odds that Noah and the woman who embarrassed him were having lunch? Dine with the enemy? Was this the way rich people lived their lives?

She tried to determine whether there was any tension between them, but she was unsuccessful. "Leah?" In astonishment, Noah asked. What exactly are you doing here? I thought you had already left."

Leah gave him a tense smile. "I signed a damned contract requiring me to provide notice, and I am here to finish my duty before I can leave." She clenched her teeth and stated her position, causing Noah to roll his eyes.

"This is Leah, Ryan Hall's younger sister. Livvy, this is Leah. This is Livvy Williams, April Williams' sister. She is acting as a substitute for her sister." Leah turned to Olivia in astonishment as Noah introduced them, but before she could say anything, Olivia stood up. The introduction took Leah aback.

"Do you think it would be possible for you to show me the restroom?" Olivia questioned her, daring her to ignore her request.

"Of course." After Leah gave her consent, she escorted Olivia to the restroom. "Why are you lying to Noah?" Olivia ignored her question and moved to stand in front of the mirror as soon as they entered the bathroom. "Hey, I'm speaking to you right now! Why are you called Livvy the personal assistant?" She attempted to talk, but Olivia silenced her.

Olivia instructed the young lady to lower her voice. When Olivia calmly said this while she was applying her lip gloss, Leah let out a cry of outrage.

"Don't advise me to lower my voice, as I am not a young girl, and there is no one else in this room." Leah grimaced and glared at the door as she stood against it with her hands on her hips.

Olivia continued to think of ways to keep Leah silent. Besides her unwavering devotion to Noah Jones, the girl exudes an irresistible charm. She had seen the card Olivia used to make her evening payments when she had come with Aiden. Olivia disliked coming here because the issue wasn't with Leah, but rather with Noah Jones.

To exact his vengeance, he was busy excavating dirt on Livvy Williams. Olivia was aware that he already knew that she was not April's sister. However, based on April's communication style over the phone, Olivia questioned whether April was aware that Noah already knew they were not sisters. Noah would not care about her identity if she were random. If she were just a random person, Noah wouldn't care as much about her. However, this was not the case; she was the woman who publicly humiliated him, and regrettably, this marked the beginning of everything. Now, it was her responsibility to resolve the unresolved issues, beginning with the formidable Leah Hall.

"I had a lot to drink last night, and my head is pounding, so I would suggest that you hold your tongue before I cut it off," Olivia said. Leah had abruptly lost her voice, and Olivia turned away from the mirror to face her. "Can you keep quiet?" She inquired, but her tone was devoid of any hint of threat. Olivia silently sighed in relief as Leah nodded mutely. "That's good. I understand that the situation seems dire, but you're only aware of a portion of the story. Would you mind joining me later to discuss this issue?" In response to Leah's question, Olivia raised an eyebrow.

Leah's eyes furrowed in concentration as she gave Olivia a thorough examination. The woman appeared completely trustworthy except for her piercing gaze and sharp tongue.

"That's fine, but we need to meet outside," she said. As Leah concluded her statement, Olivia rolled her eyes in disappointment. "I will leave at 2 p.m. and then go to campus; you can meet me there after 4 p.m." Olivia gave a brief nod in response to her suggestion. "We should return before Noah gets suspicious."

It's instinctive to take the lead. When Olivia said this, Leah was standing with her back firmly pressed against the wall, and she proceeded towards the entrance.

There is one more thing. "What should we do now?" Leah opened her hand, but Olivia did not respond; instead, she stared at the palm.

Leah had intended to relieve Olivia of her responsibilities, but it turns out that this situation offers numerous advantages. "Despite claiming to be a personal assistant, you're quite wealthy." "Consequently, you refuse to cover the cost of lunch, despite my knowledge that you have ample funds. Noah is like a brother to me, and I would not describe myself as a person who enjoys deceiving him as a result. Your tips are generous, and if you want me to remain silent for the time being, you should pay up; your tips are significantly better than Noah's. I am trying to figure out how to comport myself out there." Leah uttered the words while raising her other hand.

A smirk tugged at the corner of Olivia's lips as she glanced at the girl in amazement. Everyone carries a unique value, and appearances can be deceptive. "The moment I looked at you for the first time, I knew there was a reason why I liked you," Olivia spoke as she opened her purse. Olivia presented Leah with two hundred dollar bills she had taken from her wallet.

After folding the money, Leah placed it on her chest and accepted it. "It is the only place where I am certain I will not lose it," she said as she patted the area of her upper garment where she had placed the money. "Let's get going." Olivia was unable to utter a single word before responding and opening the door. After a few seconds, Olivia followed her back to their table, where they had been sitting.

She was relieved to be back at last. Leah was more trouble than she was worth, but her disposition had improved in seconds, and she greeted everyone on their way back. When they arrived, Noah was preoccupied with tapping on his phone, and he had not realized their presence for a brief period. Leah smiled so broadly that it split her face, and Olivia responded with a heartfelt "thank you."

"We invite you to attend."

"You guys took your time, and by the time you showed up, I was already considering sending someone to come get you." After making his statement, Noah put his phone away. When Leah smiled creepily, Olivia rolled her eyes before continuing.

Leah continued joyfully as if she could sense her gaze. "I didn't know that April had a sister, and I was genuinely beginning to wonder whether you were married," Olivia responded to her statement with a sneer, narrowing her eyes.

Olivia wondered who the sneaky little girl was. Gritting her teeth, Olivia contemplated the situation.

"Yes, I am as well." I was quite taken aback when I learned that. Noah chuckled. Olivia stared at Noah, taken aback by his genuine release of a joyful sound. "Furthermore, why would I choose to marry someone else when you're in the same room as me?" When Noah looked at her with a smirk, Leah gave him a stern look.

"Noah." The woman clenched her teeth. Give me a call when you are ready to place your order. She winked at Olivia before she left the table, but not before she mumbled something and walked away. Olivia could rest for the first time since they had arrived. In all seriousness, she was under the impression that Leah would betray her, but it turned out that the girl might be wise. It could be considered a clever move to give her money.

Noah began, "So, Mrs.," but Olivia interrupted him.

"Miss Williams, or maybe Livvy." She grabbed her menu and started browsing through it to make her choice.
