Grace let out a long sigh of relief after finally finishing her work.
Her skin was even paler than usual, as the petite girl had drained all her energy using
Unfortunately, despite all her efforts, she couldn't fully heal that man. Why had he pushed his body so far? She thought, her empathetic eyes reflecting her concern.
She couldn't help but wonder what that man had gone through to end up in such a state.
Her eyes, hidden behind her long brown hair, focused on a large scar across the man's abdominal area.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the only scar on his body. Wherever her gaze rested, she found signs of battle. Some of them were burn marks she hadn't been able to fully heal.
Almost unconsciously, the woman's hand moved closer to his abdomen, gently tracing the scars. She knew he wasn't particularly powerful, yet he had managed to defeat that arrogant redhead.
And her? What was she doing?
Grace felt a pang in her chest as she looked at the man, his unconscious body a testament to his unyielding determination.
"Oh, lucky you! You got the hot patient," a high-pitched, feminine voice suddenly interrupted her thoughts.
"Don't talk about a patient like that," another voice interjected. "Besides, you know Grace isn't like you."
Hearing this, the timid woman blushed furiously. Her gaze shifted from focusing on the scars to noticing the well-defined body in front of her. She quickly withdrew her hands.
Davi had a naturally slim frame, so when covered by clothes, his body might not draw much attention. But without a shirt, he revealed his true form.
His body was defined, with all the muscles that women liked to admire and a truly sexy shape. Plus, his face was handsome.
"Hey! Did you hear he defeated the son of the Darnells?" A third voice chimed in as someone entered the room.
"Seriously?" the woman with the high-pitched voice asked, turning to Grace. The woman, who couldn't handle making eye contact, simply nodded in confirmation.
"Ohh! So, not only is he hot, but he's strong too! Open the patient records for me, I want his phone number."
"Do you think he's rich as well?"
"You two, be more professional!" The third woman quickly cut their antics short. "Grace, don't give in to these two. Patient information is confidential."
"Okay…" Grace murmured softly.
"Don't be such a killjoy, you uptight old hag!"
And with that, the three women started 'talking,' or rather bickering, as they took turns criticizing each other. Despite the seemingly friendly façade, there was an underlying rivalry between them, brought to the surface by the 'competition' over the handsome man lying unconscious before them.
Grace, meanwhile, simply watched, unable to find her moment to join the conversation. She finally sighed softly and gave up on joining in, taking a small step back.

Davi slowly opened his eyes, blinking against the soft light that filled the infirmary. His entire body ached, and the memory of the brutal battle with Rowan returned to his mind in distant, fragmented flashes.
He tried to move, but a sharp pain forced him to stop. Taking a deep breath, he tried to gather his thoughts and understand his situation. He was exhausted, but the mere fact that he was alive was already a victory.
It was at that moment that the infirmary door opened quietly, and a girl walked in with light steps. She was of average height, had dyed blonde hair, and wore heavy makeup. That said, aside from her large breasts, her appearance wasn't particularly striking.
Even so, her strong perfume spread through the room, and the sweet scent was pleasant to Davi. Moreover, the elegant and sensual clothes she wore did a fine job of highlighting the woman's best features.
With a gentle smile, Ana approached with light steps, careful not to disturb the boy.
Noticing he was awake, she smiled at him, and got closer. She stopped 2 steps from the bed David was on. Crossing her arms to emphasize her ample chest, she said:
"It's good! You're finally awake," her tone light and cheerful. "My name is Ana, and by the way, I'm your new teammate now."
Davi blinked, still groggy. "Teammate?"
She nodded, and leaned forward with a vivid movement. Resting his hands on the boy's bed, she purposely gave Davi the best possible view of her deep cleavage.
"That's right," she said with a smile. "Rowan was disqualified for breaking the rules, so Ember and I got through by elimination." She chuckled lightly and added in a self-deprecating tone, "I only made it because there weren't any options left."
Ana gave a step back, depriving the boy from the sensual view of her tits. Then she looked away, her expression resembling that of a sad puppy. It was obvious she wanted to be comforted. And Davi, unable to resist the act, gently ruffled her hair.
"Don't worry. I would've chosen you anyway, I can't stand that idiot."
"I'm glad to hear that," she said, her tone suggestive. "By the way, you should know I'm willing to do anything to be useful to the team."
She moved closer, gently touching the boy's chest. "You were incredible in that battle. I was really impressed, you know."
In her gaze, there was a subtle hint of lust, and her expression revealed that she admired the boy deeply… or, at the very least, saw him as extremely valuable.
"Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your help and tell you how much I admire you." She feigned nervousness, leaning forward again in a way that gave Davi a perfect view of her cleavage.
Before she could get any closer, an overly sharp voice interrupted the flirtatious scene.
"Don't lean in so much. The patient is still recovering, please be careful."
Ana sighed in irritation but kept her frustration hidden behind a composed smile. As she expected, getting some alone time with Davi wasn't going to be easy. Not when all the nurses were constantly talking about him.
"I also have very advanced healing abilities. And I also received basic medical treatment, so, don't worry, I was being careful. I was only trying to help," she said in a measured tone. "I know I'm just a student, but I've learned a lot at Nisina."
Nisina was part of Enki, though specifically focused on training support types and healers. Ana would complete her studies there next semester. But Nisina just offered a formation for nurses and medical staff. If she really wanted to get into the rafts, she needed to go for Enki. That was one of her reasons for taking the exam.
Very few ever managed to gain admission to Nisina. Moreover, Ana, who had spent the day overhearing gossip from the other nurses and casually chatting with them, knew full well that the nurse in front of her had never passed Nisina's entrance exams. Her remark was a thinly veiled jab, subtly urging the woman to step aside.
Naturally, this escalated into a clash of sarcastic and passive-aggressive remarks. And it became a full out war as another nurse joined the dispute, walking directly into the room and asking Davi for his number without hesitation.
The boy, still too tired, decided it wasn't worth getting involved. That said, he was definitely willing to consider temporarily adding one of them to his harem. After all, it would grant him access to healing abilities.
However, when a certain woman suddenly entered the room, all arguments came to an abrupt end. And all the women there chose to retreat for the moment.
"You've become quite popular," Amélia remarked with a charming smile.
"Hahaha," Davi chuckled lightly, not denying the statement. "So, how did I do? Was I surprising enough?" he asked confidently, already knowing the answer.
"Don't get too cocky," she replied, her tone firm. "You haven't even completed half of the first phase of the S-rank test. And I assure you, I won't go easy on you."
She made it clear that the road ahead would be long, and if it was up to her, it would be anything but easy.
She then approached him, her gaze a mix of admiration and concern as she observed his battered body. For a moment, she wondered if she had gone too far by letting the fight continue.
Maybe, because she grew too fond of the boy, she was also being too harsh on him. It was hard to resist, it was just so fun watching him struggle and evolve.
But she pushed those thoughts aside. She needed the boy to grow stronger, and quickly. She was increasingly convinced that he was the explorer she had been waiting for all this time.
"Besides, I have both good and bad news to share. Which one do you want to hear first?" she asked, shaking off her lingering doubts and getting straight to the point.
