Chapter 19 - Do you want to test?

"And what could possibly be the limit of this ability of yours? Do you think you could handle 20% of my power, for example?" she finally suggested in a playful tone, gazing sensually at the boy standing before her.

Davi was caught off guard by her words. He couldn't tell if this woman was teasing him or being serious.

"Do you want to test it?" the principal asked provocatively, softly touching her plump lips with her index finger, drawing the boy's attention to them. Then, she leaned a little closer, whispering in his ear, "Why don't you try to force me to do something?"

Afterward, she stepped back slightly. Complaining about the heat, she unbuttoned the first buttons of her blazer, revealing a deep and sexy cleavage. It was impossible not to notice the red lace bra she wore underneath.

"Oh, what a pity," she exclaimed, clearly enjoying her own antics, acting as if she were performing on a stage. "I'm so defenseless before this voracious student. I don't know what I'd do if he tried to take my lips by force. Oh heavens! What would I do if he claimed my lips so passionately?"

Davi, of course, wouldn't just stand by and watch. He turned to face the seductive devil before him and murmured, "You're asking for this; don't complain later."

"Don't worry, I won't, honey!" She said in a forced hyper-feminine voice.

He stepped closer to the woman, who didn't even try to resist. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her closer, pressing their bodies together tightly.

Finally, he gave her a light slap on her sensual and round ass, grabbing her firmly and pressing his body against hers. His lips moved closer to her face, and he forced a passionate kiss on her.

But… nothing. Neither did Amelia show any reaction of pleasure, nor did his ability activate. It was as if the kiss hadn't even happened.

The outcome was to be expected. The requirement for his ability to work was to share a moment of intimacy with the girl, something impossible without the other person's desire.

In other words, it was impossible to force someone into the harem.

"Since I closed myself off from the possibility of feeling any pleasure or sharing the moment with you, your power was rendered useless," the woman explained her theory with a calm, almost amused tone.

Davi could only lament, imagining the sheer power he could gain if he managed to acquire 20% of that woman's stats. However, a flicker of hope ignited when she leaned in closer and whispered:

"Well, what do you think would happen if I were willing to enjoy the moment? I've been feeling a little... frustrated lately, and maybe I need a vigorous student to help me unwind." Her sultry voice melted into his ear, her voluptuous body pressing provocatively against his.

Davi couldn't hold back any longer; the fear of never having another chance like this consumed him. He grasped her curvaceous figure again, his hands boldly massaging her firm, inviting curves.

This time, Amélia responded with soft moans, surrendering to the shared passion. The atmosphere between them grew increasingly heated, and the inevitable moment arrived when their lips finally met.

They devoured each other in a fiery kiss, their shared intensity only growing. Davi's hands roamed her alluring body, exploring every curve as their connection deepened.

He could feel her heart racing against his chest, her escalating moans leaving no doubt that she was fully immersed in the moment.

A familiar surge of heat and desire coursed through him, the unmistakable sensation of his ability activating as it had with others before. This is it, he thought. She'll be added to the har…

Pain took over his body.

A searing, overwhelming pain shot through Davi's body, forcing him to his knees.

"My apologies," Amélia said with a mischievous smile, her tone teetering between genuine regret and playful malice. "I didn't anticipate the backlash would be quite so intense."

Whether all that paint was intentional or not, she left purposefully ambiguous.

This time, the failure of Davi's ability wasn't due to a misstep in the requirements but rather the abrupt collision with an insurmountable barrier, a force he hadn't anticipated.

"As I suspected, it is possible to block your ability, though I imagine only a handful of people in the world could do it," she said with a smug smile, her confidence well-matched by her formidable strength.

Yet, despite her curiosity, she chose to postpone exploring the limits of his power.

With a teasing grin, she teleported behind him before he had a chance to react. Before Davi could turn, she wrapped her arms around him, pressing her ample chest firmly against his back. Her hands roamed over his chest, sliding downward until they found the source of his persistent arousal, still rigid and unyielding.

"Oh,my apologies," she whispered, her tone dripping with sensuality, her lips grazing his ear. "It seems I'll have to leave you feeling a bit... frustrated."

Her words were provocative, but it was her next promise that left Davi frozen in place.

"However," she continued in a hushed, intimate tone, "if you can make it into Rank S and rank among the top five students, I'll grant you the privilege of sharing a bed with me."

Her offer was as intoxicating as it was calculated. She made it sound like the reward was her body, but Davi knew the truth. What she truly offered was her power, and it was an opportunity he couldn't afford to miss.

Then, as suddenly as she'd appeared, she vanished with a snap, leaving Davi standing alone, his body still tingling from her touch.

Then, as if on cue, those familiar lights enveloped him, signaling yet another abrupt shift. When his vision cleared, he found himself face-to-face with the fiery redhead he had been seeking all along.

Right after the battle ended, Ember was sent to the infirmary. There, she quickly recovered, so she went to visit the man who had once again saved her life.

When she arrived, as expected, he was still unconscious on his cot.

His body was once again covered in burns, and she could only watch as others healed him. She could only hope that he would wake up healthy and well.

Seeing him like that tightened her chest for many reasons. Frustrated with herself, she swore that she would never let Davi take such risks alone again.

"I'm sorry," she said to the man who couldn't hear her.

Then she stepped closer, leaning her head against his chest, as though she longed to hear his heartbeat. Knowing he was still alive, that blood still flowed vigorously through his chest, helped her calm down.

Finally, the girl gave him a farewell kiss, taking his lips.

Her face quickly turned red, and she hurried out of the room, hoping no nurse had witnessed the scene.

And with that, she said her goodbye. Ember wanted to spend the entire afternoon watching Davi, but there were other matters that needed her attention.

Between the phases of the test, participants could either stay in the hospital or wait in designated rooms. This arrangement was designed to prevent contact with the outside world during the examination.

Because of this, Ember didn't have many places to go. Even so, she wandered through the long hospital corridors until she reached the reception area, where some staff members were ready to assist participants with their needs.

She approached them and asked about items left behind during the battle. Since she had fainted and been sent straight to the infirmary, she had left her sword behind in the arena.

Luckily, the staff was used to handling such situations. After every battle, all belongings left behind were kept for a month, giving their owners a chance to retrieve them.

After chatting for a bit with the friendly receptionist, she recovered her belongings, or at least what remained of them.

The man handed her a large box, which she quickly carried back to her team's dormitory. When she arrived, she smiled upon noticing that Ana wasn't there. She felt more at ease being alone, especially at that moment.

Then she placed the box on her bed and felt her heart race. A part of her didn't even have the courage to see what was inside. Even so, she moved forward.

A tear rolled down her face.

She spread the recovered items across the bed. There was her brother's wand, Davi's drones, and some other objects, but her eyes were fixed on one particular sword.

Broken into more than ten pieces, the blade was completely destroyed. What was once a sharp and reliable weapon was now nothing more than shattered remains.

With trembling hands, she pieced together the fragments like a puzzle, reconstructing the shape of her saber before her. But now, it was in a pitiful state.

She tried to calm her agitated heart, telling herself that once the test was over, she would fix the weapon. She would find the best blacksmith there was, and…

But was it even repairable?

More importantly, what was the point of repairing a sword without value?

For a moment, she remembered the day of her mother's funeral. Left behind, she had clung to that sword and sworn to carve her own path. She had sworn to be strong.

And the result? She had fled and failed to face her own brother.

Frustrated, lost, and consumed by deep sadness, she cried.

The sound of the doorbell echoed.

Laughing at the girl's emotions, fate had decided to play a trick on her.

When she opened the door, she found a tall man with a horrifying scar across his face and an ever-irritated expression.

Ember's chest tightened immediately upon seeing the familiar face. Before she could say anything, the man handed her a message.

"Your father wants to see you. In the garden of the treatment center, there's a small pond and a plaza. Go there and wait for him."

The man, known for his brevity, left quickly, showing no interest in wasting more time there. After all, he was a very busy person.

Ember, left behind, felt her chest tighten again. She absolutely didn't want to see her father at that moment. In fact, just the thought of facing him made her tremble with fear.

Still, she feared even more what he might do if she disobeyed. So the only option left was to quickly wipe her tears and leave the room.

She walked for a while until she found the plaza. Upon arriving, she quickly noticed that her father wasn't there, and unconsciously, she sighed in relief.

Perhaps even he had been forbidden from contacting participants?

For a moment, she entertained this childish fantasy, but she soon concluded that he was likely just running late. Her father certainly had the power to break one or two of Enki's rules without any consequences.

Thinking about the man who could appear at any moment, she began to feel more anxious.

"I really am a coward," she muttered to herself, frustrated.

The feeling of failure consumed her entirely, and she felt more and more suffocated by her insecurities.

Just when Ember thought she would be overwhelmed by negative emotions, she saw her savior appear before her.

"Davi," his name escaped her lips in a soft sigh. "Why are you here? You should be resting."
