Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Core Members

After the dangers and challenges in the previous chapter, Solomon, with his remarkable abilities and unwavering faith, was increasingly thriving within the Hall of Light. At this moment, sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows, casting vibrant colours across the grand hall. Solomon's busy figure moved purposefully through the space, becoming a unique feature of the temple.

"Solomon, your performance in the temple has been exceptional of late, particularly during the several combat missions. Your bravery and fearlessness have earned you the admiration of all," said the temple's chief mentor, an elderly man with white hair but sharp, penetrating eyes, as he smiled warmly at Solomon.

"You're too kind, Mentor. It's simply my duty. I only wish to contribute more to the Hall of Light and to the Glory Continent," Solomon responded humbly.

"However, aside from combat, the development of the temple also needs improvement in other areas. Do you have any ideas on this?" the mentor asked, his gaze filled with expectation.

"I believe our current training methods could use some adjustments. The traditional focus has been too much on individual strength, while team coordination, which is crucial in actual combat, has been neglected," Solomon thoughtfully explained.

"Oh? Please, tell me more," the mentor inquired with interest.

"I've designed a new training programme that incorporates more team-based exercises. In these exercises, members will be divided into small groups and simulate various combat scenarios, requiring them to work together and accomplish tasks. This way, their ability to collaborate as a team should improve significantly," Solomon said, his eyes shining with confidence.

"That sounds promising. I'll consider submitting your suggestion for discussion at the higher levels of the temple," the mentor nodded in approval.

Soon after, Solomon's proposal was accepted and implemented. The training grounds were filled with the sounds of battle cries and clashing steel.

"Listen up, everyone! In this simulated battle, we must act as one cohesive unit. We must support each other, not fight as individuals!" Solomon shouted, standing at the front of the group.

"Yes, Lord Solomon!" the members responded in unison.

"Remember, we are a team. Every action you take affects the success or failure of the entire group!" Solomon emphasised once more, the importance of teamwork.

During the exercises, the members began to truly understand the power of working together.

"Hey, we need backup over here!" shouted one of the knights.

"On my way!" a mage quickly cast a spell, providing support to the knight.

"Well done! Keep it up!" Solomon observed from the sidelines, offering timely words of encouragement.

In addition to his contributions in training, Solomon frequently participated in diplomatic missions for the temple. During one such negotiation with a significant faction, he sat across from their representatives at an elaborate negotiation table.

"Honourable sirs, the Hall of Light has always strived to maintain peace and stability across the Glory Continent. We hope to form a cooperative alliance with your faction, working together to secure the peace of these lands," Solomon said politely yet firmly.

"Your ideals are indeed commendable, but cooperation must be mutually beneficial. What can you offer us?" the opposing representative asked with a furrowed brow, clearly sceptical.

Solomon smiled slightly and, unhurried, replied, "Your faction has long sought greater support in acquiring resources, and the Hall of Light possesses extensive networks and resource channels in this regard. Additionally, our knightly orders and mage teams are more than capable of offering assistance should the need arise. Moreover, the unique technology and talents you possess are exactly what we require. A mutually beneficial partnership is entirely possible."

After further discussion and negotiation, the two sides reached a cooperative agreement.

"Solomon, your performance in this negotiation was outstanding. You've secured vital support and resources for the temple," one of the temple's officials, who had participated in the talks, praised him.

"This is the result of everyone's efforts. We all work for the greater good of the temple," Solomon humbly replied.

However, not everyone was pleased with Solomon's proactive approach and reform initiatives. Within the temple, a faction of conservatives gathered in a tense meeting.

"This Solomon... His reforms are far too radical. If things continue this way, it could ruin the traditional order of the temple," one of the elder conservatives said, his face etched with concern.

"Indeed, his suggestions, while seemingly reasonable, could undermine the very foundations we've built over the years," another echoed in agreement.

Thus, they voiced strong objections to Solomon's proposals, attempting to halt their implementation.

Faced with these objections and obstacles, Solomon decided to organise an internal seminar to resolve the conflict.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I understand your attachment to tradition, but we cannot ignore the progress of time and change. Our ultimate goal is to make the Hall of Light better equipped to safeguard the Glory Continent, isn't that so?" Solomon began, his voice sincere and passionate.

"That may be so, but your reforms are too risky. We cannot afford to take such chances," a representative from the conservative faction retorted.

"I understand your concerns, which is why all of my proposals carefully balance tradition with innovation. For example, the new training programme still emphasises individual strength development alongside team-based training. By enhancing teamwork, we'll improve our overall combat effectiveness," Solomon patiently explained.

At the seminar, each representative voiced their opinions, and Solomon listened attentively, continuously adjusting and refining his plans. Gradually, more and more began to understand and support his vision.

However, just when Solomon believed that everything was moving in the right direction, he received an anonymous letter. The note contained only a brief message: "Don't think that support means smooth sailing. Your actions have already touched some people's interests. Be careful…"

Who sent this cryptic letter? What conspiracy lies hidden behind it? How will Solomon respond to this new challenge? The answers remained shrouded in mystery, leaving an unsettling feeling in the air.
