At the end of the previous chapter, the appearance of the mysterious figures cast a shadow of uncertainty over the civil war within the family. Yet Solomon, undeterred by these unknown variables, continued his relentless pursuit on the battlefield. He fought with the ferocity of a lion and, step by step, finally cornered the one responsible for betraying the family — Lord Alexander.
The smoke of battle still hung thick in the air, the remnants of the war giving the devastated battlefield a more sinister feel. Lord Alexander stood beneath the ruins of a broken wall, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and hatred as he fixed his gaze on Solomon, who was steadily advancing.
"Solomon, don't think you can win this easily!" Lord Alexander shouted, his voice trembling despite his attempts to sound fierce.
Solomon smirked, his eyes filled with disdain. "Alexander, you betrayed the family, colluded with our enemies, and committed an unforgivable crime. Today marks your end."
"Hmph! I did this for the family! Only I can lead us to true glory. You stubborn fools don't understand!" Lord Alexander tried to justify his actions, his voice laced with desperation.
"For the family? You're just making excuses for your greed and ambition! Everything you've done has brought nothing but disaster and suffering to the family!" Solomon retorted angrily.
Grinding his teeth, Lord Alexander drew his sword, assuming a posture of desperate defiance. "Then come, let's see who the true victor will be!"
Without hesitation, Solomon gripped the Sword of Stars tightly, the holy aura of battle energy enveloping him as the blade shimmered coldly. "Let's see if you can bear the cost of your betrayal!"
Before the words had fully left his lips, Solomon lunged forward like a bolt of lightning, his attacks coming at Alexander in a torrential wave. Alexander fought back with all his might, but his efforts seemed utterly futile in the face of Solomon's overwhelming power.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!" The sound of steel against steel rang out across the battlefield, each strike sparking bright flashes of light.
"Ah!" Lord Alexander cried out in pain as one of Solomon's strikes landed precisely on his arm, sending his sword flying from his grasp.
"You have no chance left, Alexander." Solomon advanced steadily, his gaze unflinching and filled with resolve.
"No... No, this can't be!" Alexander's face twisted with despair as he reached desperately for his fallen sword. But before he could even grasp it, Solomon's Sword of Stars was already at his throat.
"It's over, Alexander." Solomon's voice was cold and final.
"Solomon, kill me then, I've already lost..." Alexander closed his eyes, resigned to his fate, waiting for death to come.
"You think death will resolve it all? Your actions have caused the family too much pain. You must pay for what you've done!" Solomon spat angrily.
With Alexander's defeat, his followers, realising that the tide had turned, dropped their weapons and surrendered.
"We surrender, please spare our lives!" Some of the traitors fell to their knees, begging for mercy.
Solomon surveyed the surrendering figures and spoke loudly, "Since you were merely deceived by Alexander, I will spare you this once. But remember this—betraying the family leads to nothing but ruin!"
The civil war within the Victoria family had finally come to an end, and the once-chaotic battlefield was gradually quieting down. However, the toll of the conflict had been heavy. The family's estate lay in ruins, its buildings shattered, and its strength greatly diminished. To restore the former glory would take time, effort, and perseverance.
Solomon, fully aware of the daunting task ahead, gazed solemnly over the scarred land and silently swore, "I will make the family rise again!"
At that moment, the family's butler, Alfred, rushed over, exhaustion and relief written across his face. "Master Solomon, you've done it. You've removed this great scourge from the family."
"Alfred, this is just the first step. The task of rebuilding the family is far from over," Solomon replied with quiet determination.
"Indeed, young master. But with you leading us, we all believe the family will recover its former glory." Alfred said with unshakable confidence.
"Yes, together we will rebuild." Solomon nodded firmly.
But just as everyone thought the situation was returning to normal, a mysterious letter was delivered into Solomon's hands. The envelope bore no signature, only a brief message: "Do you think that by eliminating Alexander, the story ends? The real play has only just begun..."
Who had sent this cryptic letter? What schemes lay behind it? And how would Solomon respond to this new threat? The mystery was just beginning to unfold.
