Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: The purple

Alaric didn't know exactly what he had hoped to achieve. This was certainly not it.

How could he have known that somehow Peter and Asmodeos would hear about the quest, about their holy war against Marek, and come to him personally?

Peter, for his part, looked better, Alaric noted. The man's skin had fewer pimples; he looked happier somehow.

 Asmodeos was blond again, which led Alaric to believe that the man wanted to be a hero for the time being.

It must have been nice, Alaric thought, to be able to dye your hair just with your good intentions.

But if he had to be honest, Asmodeos looked better with white hair, long, and falling. Alaric looked at Nick, hoping the other gnome had not caught him staring.

"These shifter gnomes have to go!" Asmodeos was apparently still not ready to give it a rest.
