Chapter 17 - "fractured Silence"

( in the afternoon around 4pm, at the elite members safe house:;)

( Inside the safe house):;

As the meeting drew to a close, the parents began to rise from their seats, their faces stern and unyielding. The Elite members watched in silence as they gathered their belongings, their movements deliberate and calculated.

Without a word, the parents filed out of the safe house, their footsteps echoing through the hallway. The Elite members followed, their eyes fixed on the parents' backs as they walked.

Outside, the air was thick with tension. The Elite members waited in silence, their eyes fixed on the parents as they made their way to their cars. The only sound was the distant hum of the city, and the soft rustle of the wind through the trees.

As the parents reached their cars, they turned to face the Elite members. For a moment, they simply stared, their faces expressionless. Then, without a word, they turned and got into their cars.

The Elite members watched, frozen in silence, as the cars pulled away from the curb. The sound of the engines faded into the distance, leaving behind an oppressive silence.

The Elite members stood there, unmoving, as the reality of their situation sunk in. They were trapped, bound by their parents' expectations and their own secrets. And now, they were being sent off to university, forced to navigate a new world with the weight of their past mistakes hanging over them.

As the parents' cars pulled away from the curb, the Elite members stood there, unmoving, their eyes fixed on the disappearing vehicles. The tension was palpable, and for a moment, no one spoke.

Then, almost imperceptibly, Chan's gaze flickered to the side, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. The others followed suit, their eyes darting back and forth, as if searching for something.

It was a subtle movement, one that could have been easily missed. But for a brief moment, each of them thought they saw something - a flicker of darkness, a shadowy form lurking just out of sight.

Siri's eyes narrowed, her brow furrowing in concern. Nat's gaze lingered on a nearby alleyway, his eyes scanning the depths of the shadows. Nun's fingers twitched, as if she was resisting the urge to glance over her shoulder.

But none of them said a word. Instead, they played it off, pretending they hadn't seen anything. The tension remained, however, a palpable undercurrent that threatened to boil over at any moment.

"Let's get back inside," Chan said finally, his voice low and even. "We have a lot to discuss." He continues in a calm tone

The others nodded, still exchanging uneasy glances. As they turned to head back into the safe house, the shadowy form remained, watching and waiting, hidden from view.

As soon as they stepped back into the safe house, Nat turned to the others, his voice low and urgent. "Am I the only one who saw that?" he asked, his eyes scanning the room. "Are we just going to pretend like we didn't see it?"

Dee rolled her eyes. "Just forget about it, Nat. You've been seeing that shadow everywhere. It's just your imagination playing tricks on you."she says her tone trying to deny the existence of the shadow

But Nat was insistent. "No, I'm telling you, I saw something! And I'm not the only one, am I?" He yells as looked around the room, but the others avoided his gaze.

Siri, however, had had enough. "That's enough" she exploded, her voice echoing off the walls. "We have more important things to worry about than some stupid shadow! We need to focus on our situation, not some obvious stalker's shadow" he continues in a calm yet firm tone

" So now you admit about seeing the shadow, right " Nat yells in a tone reflecting his annoyance

The room fell silent, with the Elite members staring Nat in shock.

" Calm down" Nun says while trying to calm her twin brother Nat down

" Are you finally done pretending after all this years, huh " he continues calmly as his voice reflexes his disappointment

" Calm down" Nun says as she continues to calm Nat down,

" Don't tell me to calm down" Nat yells as he gently pushed Nun's hand away from him

" You have all being pretending not to see it all this years " he continues angrily as he stares at all of them,

The tension in the room increased as the elite members avoid making eye contact with Nat

" Fine let's keep pretending, huh " Nat says his voice fullied with disappointment," it's nothing, right... It's all my imagination right" he continues

The room became silent as the atmosphere in the room became intense, The elite members stood in silence, unknown of what to say....
